High tea like back in the day except you don’t have to wear your Sunday best, including hat and gloves. I remember helping my mother make her tea sandwiches when it was her turn to hostess. I was there with a group of 9 and they handled us just fine. The teas were to die for, the food was phenomenal and the staff was attentive and helpful.

My Husband gave me a gift card for Tilly Mint’s because I love all tea rooms! 1. The owner was really rude to him when he was purchasing the gift card. 2. Every time I tried to call and schedule a reservation she was busy AND rude. The Talking Teacup is near by, they are always busy, but never rude! I give her two stars, because the food and the tea were actually quite nice once we were able to get a reservation. However, the owner seems really unprofessional and absolutely incapable of being pleasant on the phone — so I will never go back.

Located in the heart of Sauderton, this charming tea room is filled with all things sweet, tasty, comforting, and heartwarming. I’ve been to other tea rooms and this one will continue to be a favorite of mine for days to come. This is a great place for girlfriend gatherings and outings. The food was flavorful and detail oriented. They took great care in crafting their menu and it shows in their display, flavor, and offerings.

This really is a pleasant, reasonably priced, suburban alternative to the high-end tea salons in Philadelphia’s Center City hotels. Our hostess and server were gracious, professional and prompt. The presentation was lovely and traditional with exquisite china service, along with lace and cloth linens. Even the whimsical touch of having a different china set for each of us, lent to the charm of this place. The homemade tea sandwiches and pastries were delicious and artfully created. My only suggestions in order to keep their steady stream of customers would be as follows: Instead of the china porcelain flowers(beautiful Coalport), try a little vase arrangement of fresh flowers on each table. This will be especially important in the winter months when people have their greatest need to «de-stress» with natural beauty. Also, in appreciating the owner’s need to maintain a healthy profit margin, the size of the individual sandwiches and pastries was still about half of that served at other tea rooms.(It was especially noticeable when two of us were sharing a half-tablespoon of clotted cream for our scones.) With the superb-tasting tea blends offered, there should be a way for the tea to be served hot, instead of lukewarm and slightly weak. Our conscientious server kept asking if we wanted a fresh pot(lukewarm, again) when other establishments will give you the tea-filled cup basket and a pot of boiling water, which eliminates this problem. Paying your check at the lovely gift shop is a smart idea, since it is filled with a marvelous collection of teapots and accessories. While we didn’t purchase anything, I hope that they offer custom gift boxes. What better way to advertise such a fine operation in which they understand the art of traditional tea! I will recommend Tilly Mint’s and return.

I have been here a few times and all have been wonderful! On our visits we always end up chatting with the very friendly staff, including the owner. The food is delicious and we always leave stuffed! The tea is wonderful! So many choices and we’ve never had a tea that we weren’t completely satisfied with! They also have an adorable gift shop where you can purchase the different teas they offer as well as various tea pots and nick nacks. Overall the staff provide a very charming and enjoyable experience!

Nothing really stood out to myself or the people with whom I attended. Of course, the experience was immediately tainted by a somewhat snarky host. I went with 4 other women, a small child, and a baby(7 total). When the head of my group called to make reservations, initially she said we would need 8 chairs. She later called back to say one person could not make it, so our final count would be five adults, a 7 year old, and that we would still need a seat for a baby carrier, because the establishment did not offer a high chair. When we arrived at Tilly Mint’s, two tables were pushed together. We were awkwardly seated and spaced out, as we did not even need two tables. We were asked multiple times, when the other people were coming. Other people? We were all there… When my MIL explained that she had called to cancel one person and explained the numbers, the woman was giving us an attitude, making her displeasure known that we needed a seat for a baby. Okay… well, maybe you should have high chairs then? She rudely retorted that she«could have sold the other table for business if we had been up front with her.» Um… lady, we were? Sorry you didn’t understand. Whatever happened to the customer is always right, anyway? It was somewhat of a scene, and I was embarrassed for her that she would not let it go and continued to make comments, and proceeded to talk about our table to the other woman in the establishment WITHINEARSHOT… very uncouth at a wannabe British tea place when manners are supposed to be of paramount importance. As said earlier, just left a bad taste in our mouth at the beginning of the experience. Anyway, I honestly did not give 2 stars for this sole reason. The teas were, by no mean, bad. I got the peaches and crème, my other tablemates got the chocolate raspberry truffle and enjoyed it. We all got the Wavertree Tea, so an app, sandwiches and desserts. My niece got the children’s entrée and the presentation was adorable. My SIL and I commented when all was said and done, we’d have been happier with the child’s entrée. The quiche and soup weren’t anything to write home about and I was not fond of any of the sandwiches. The salad was practically dripping with dressing, but that’s just my personal taste – don’t like my lettuce soggy and soupy. The desserts were okay, but a lot of it reminded me of baked goods that you could purchase at Acme in a plastic container. I know better tea food exists, because I’ve had it at multiple tea places. Not bad… but not worth the hour drive it took us to get there coupled with the unpleasant woman. All in all, we won’t be back, nor can we recommend to others… as we weren’t impressed with the food and certainly not the service.

Visited Tilly Mint’s for the first time on December 21st. It was very festive with Christmas decorations, including an all-teacup tree! My two companions and I each had their full tea, the Wavertree. The potato-crust quiche was different and delightful. I learned the scones were the owner’s own recipe, which she created by combining a few different types of British-style recipes. All of the food was delectable and plentiful. They have a quality tea selection that they serve in a variety of fun and fancy teapots. The Queen Catherine tea is one of the best blends I’ve had. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable and make you feel at home. One of my companions summarized our afternoon tea the best by saying that you could tell everything was made and served with love. The pride in Tilly Mint’s is certainly palpable. The decorations are an Anglophile’s dream. My only regret is that it took me so long to find out about this place. I will be back. Will you pop in for a cuppa?

Tilly Mint’s Tea Room is fabulous! I have visited Tilly Mint’s at least 5 times over the past several years. Tilly Mint’s takes attention to detail to a new level. The selection of teas is incredible. The salad/quiche/soup course has been yummy each time. The creativity and variety of the tea sandwiches is awesome. The sandwiches are scrumptious! The scones are perfect. The desserts go above and beyond anything that I’ve seen at any other tea house. The teapots, teacups, and table settings are beautiful and special; they set the scene for a high tea! And best of all, the service is amazing — welcoming and friendly.

I have unfortunately only had their desserts, and my whole family thinks they are outstanding. Presentation, quality, ingredients, and tastes. I really hope my family goes there for my Mother-in-law’s event for the holiday. The place is fantastically charming and cute. Quite English. So it’s really a neat destination. Be sure to go to the Montgomery Playhouse Theatre afterwards, currently showing a great play.

After hearing wonderful things about Tilly Mints, I finally had the chance to go with my grandaughter and friends. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were so good, with wonderful detail. Never realized there were so many types of tea! The décor is perfect and Trish is so attentive to customizing for the patrons. It felt as if we had our own little corner in the U.K. Jolly Good!(had to say it!)

A wonderful place to go and experience ‘tea’ on this side of the pond. Attentive staff, wonderful atmosphere — and large portions. What a gem to experience in the suburbs! On the day we had tea, we were asked to sign a card to send to the Queen to congratulate her on her Diamond Jubilee — my kids thought this was great… sending a card to the Queen! I am also aware that Tilly’s does a fine job hosting your party — my friend had a bridal shower here and it was very well done. High encourage you to make a reservation — it’s a small establishment and fills fast. Everything is served on china — so only bring along well-behaved children/adults who can sit and be patient! Looking forward to my next tea experience at Tilly’s!

Lovely! It’s just a wonderful Tea Room. The selection of tea is excellent, the food is just delicious and I love all the different types of teapots :) The Wavertree is usually what I order when there and it is just — yum! Thank you Tilly Mint for such a special and fantastic tea room :)
