Dan and Liz have been great through the whole process. As a first time home buyer, I was clearly in way over my head in terms of my knowledge and understanding. In particular with the current economic climate, lenders are crazier than ever with loads of paperwork and hoops to jump through. No matter how much I had (or could have) read or prepared, there was no way to have waded through the infinite layers of complexity without the time, help, and support from Dan and Liz.
Patient, knowledgeable, and understanding all the way through, Dan spent multiple nights on the phone for hours at a time if needed (even before we were definitely doing business together); answering questions and explaining things in terms I can actually understand. Dan was committed to finding the best loan options, even with some extraneous circumstances surrounding the purchase. Offering input and advice on everything asked of him, suggestions on handling property tax, keeping us up to date on the loan status, and possessing the overall knowledge and confidence that really helped put us at ease (at least as much ease as you can have in buying a home!); I couldn’t imagine going through the last several weeks without the help of these folks.
I have already recommended The Home Loan Center to friends and colleagues, and would do the same without hesitation here. in fact, I guess I just did.

Dan & Liz Fendrick, by far, are the best mortgage planners in the business! I rarely write reviews, but I have to inform anyone who is looking to refinance or to get a new loan, etc. In a nut shell, there are mortgage planners and there are loan agents. Mortgage planners see the BIG picture, while loan agents see the little picture. Dan & Liz make all the difference. Their organization and attention to detail put them at the top. The fact that Dan is a genuine and caring person is a rarity in this business. Liz is on point, and always ready to help with the intricacies of the details and documents needed. Dan has guided me not only with mortgage loans, but with financial life planning. I used their services in February 2011 and will continue to use their services when needed. No one can compare to their level of excellence. I will recommend them to all my friends and family without hesitation. They are simply THE BEST!

there’s no one in the financial industry (that’s not related to me) that i can think of who would sit down and be on the phone with you until 11pm going over your finances. dan is that person. he will do whatever it takes to make sure you understand your financial options with getting a home loan and attempt to grok the greater housing market. dan’s knowledge and passion about the financial industry is amazing. at one you feel that he’s really doing everything he can to make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into! once we were in escrow, dan and liz went out of their way to track down the crazy housing and tax laws in berkeley and helping us figure out all the options to make sure we close on time. dan and liz of the home loan center is who you want on your side.

When I mentioned to a group of friends that I was thinking of purchasing a house, three friends lept for their wallets and all competed to give me Dan’s card first. All were very very enthusiastic about Dan and Liz and said if I was going to buy a house I HAD TO USE DAN. According to my friends, everything else was negotiable but this was mandatory.
I was skeptical but gave The Home Loan Center a call. Turns out Dan is numbers geek/​freak. He loves them. We ended up talking about what I could afford, how the whole process worked. I ended up getting quite an education. All before he even knew he got the job.
He helped me negotiate all the scary parts of the process. I was a total novice and nervous as heck. But he not only answered my questions but gave me the «why» of the answers so I would really understand. Liz deals with all the paperwork and she helped make the whole process incredibly smooth. It was a total pleasure working with her.
I used them again for a refinance later in the year because the rates had gone down so much. We went through the whole process and at the last minute Dan called to let me know he had found an even better deal for me! It was so late into the first refinance he could have let it go (and I think most brokers would have) but it is not how the Findricks operate. They are very upright, honest and great people.
During the refinance process, something came up with the new lender about what type of homeowners insurance I had and there was a question about whether or not it was the right type. Liz spent I don’t know how much time on the phone trying to get it resolved. She tracked down a great resource to use that had the right kind of insurance and between the new insurance person and Dan, they called and got the Lender to back off their weird requests. Dan called the Lender and argued on my behalf and won. It was great. I can’t have a better set of people on my side!
I didn’t know them before the first time we worked together but they are truly nice people and now when others ask me advice about mortgage brokers I am competing with my friends to see who can pull out Dan’s card fastest.
I can’t recommend them enough. Call them. You will be very very happy you did!

We have used Dan & Elizabeth at the Home Loan Center a few times over the past 11 years. We have never received anything other than stellar service.
From start to finish, they walk you through the process. If you are new to property purchases, Dan can give you any & all the information you will need. He is highly knowledgeable in the financial industry and will also explain it to you in laymen’s terms if you need that (like I do!)
Elizabeth is professional, yet friendly, and is an excellent compliment to Dan.
The last time we needed a loan, we were unable to secure a traditional mortgage due to being new business owners. Even though we were pursuing financing through our Credit Union, Dan walked us through the process and brought up the concerns he had. He gave us the information we needed to ask. By doing so, he saved us close to 2 weeks worth of trouble on the other end, because we had the information the credit union did not give us, and were able to ask them instead. He even offered to call the c.u. on our behalf if we weren’t comfortable asking the questions, or didn’t understand.
We have referred friends & family to them, who have also used them multiple times, and will continue to do so.
