Good Chinese food for the area. Very quick and friendly service. I was surprised at the quality of the food. I would come back.

Decent food, decent prices. We usually do take out but have eaten in once before heading up to watch a movie(good option because service is fast). Service is generally friendly.

Consistently good Chinese food and they have Schezwan specialties! I have only had take out thus far, but, the service is always friendly and the food is prepared quickly. The kitchen is also very clean — you can see inside it from the window outside! We haven’t had a bad dish yet. Inside, the interior is nice, with a TV for those who like that type of thing, a fish tank, and a modern, clean style. Nice to have a reliable, friendly and comfortable Chinese restaurant in Sonoma!

I have to downgrade my 5 star review 5 months ago to a 1 Star review for this place! The food was nothing like it was last time! The food was pretty bad and the waitress had a terrible attitude! She was rude to us from the minute we sat down! She was annoyed with us for asking her to accommodate some of our dietary restrictions. Even asking for water was met with eye rolling! Very unpleasant experience! We were a group of 10 including 5 children. Went with high expectations but will not return!

The WORST food ever. Shocked they have been in business for 35 years. I have had better takeout from a storefront dump. I so wanted my $ back. In addition, cashier lady should develop a personality!

I visited this restaurant because of its great reviews and because I was craving Asian cuisine at the time and was not disappointed! The waitress was very friendly, food arrived quickly but not too quickly. You guys have to try the potstickers they’re delicious! I will come back here when I’m in Sonoma again. Great food.

This small place has been open for 35 years. A hole in the wall but wonderful. I had the veg. Combination and it was very affordable and delicious, very green and cooked perfectly. A wonderful place to get some take out at and enjoy it at home.

Took my girlfriend here for the first time tonight. I didn’t think Sonoma had any good Chinese food but boy was I wrong. Firstly, the staff was so sweet. Like SOOOOO sweet. 25% tip without even thinking for service like that. I had the Sezchuan(sp!) chicken /prawns combo a la carte(which means it comes with white rice, soup and a egg roll). The food was actually pretty darn good and the prices were un beatable. We will be back.

In my opinion Shanghai has the best Chinese cuisine in Sonoma Valley. My favorite items from there are: curry rice noodles, pot stickers, and sesame chicken. It’s hard to find good Chinese that’s consistent, and I feel this establishment has done a great job when it comes to customer service and the quality of their food; a major improvement.

Very good choice, best I’ve found in the town of Sonoma. Food prepared well, good ingredients, wide menu, very friendly. Parking can be sparse. Duck with vegetables had good flavor but I like most be more intense in flavor. Only three stars. Wot wanton soup is quite nice. Good dumplings and lots of everything else. Scallops and shrimp looked good. I stole a scallop and it was fresh and tasty. Maybe they’ll earn a fifth star after my next life B&H there.

For Chinese food in Sonoma, this is the best your gonna get. Service is good, ingredients are fresh & lunch specials are really reasonable. I love the tangerine beef. The ONLY place I eat Chinese in town.

This place can be hit or miss on the food but my boyfriend and I enjoy eating here still somewhat regularly. The servers are always attentive and friendly. The dining room is pretty small but we are usually one of the only diners when there. Their dinner specials are ok. Not the best. But some of the dishes are decent when we are wanting staple dish Chinese food. Others though, are fatty and greasy. I do not recommend the egg rolls– they are over-fried and contain nothing but bean sprouts in the filling. Sonoma lacks good options for Chinese food but this place will fulfill your craving for one.

Wow! Just not good. Cashew chicken was rubbery. So was the Mongolian beef. My almost 7 year old loves a Chinese food place in Petaluma but it was too much of a drive for me that night. I really should have just gone there, as our family was extremely disappointed in the meal. Greasy, cheap cuts of meat, super dry rice and noodles. And strangely, everything tastes like fish sauce?! I really don’t like giving poor reviews, but I should have listened to the others. Listen to me and pass pass pass. It’s too bad I just threw 4 boxes of leftovers out. They’d been sitting in the fridge since Sunday, and no one would touch them. That is never the case at our house, as the 4 kids love leftovers 2 stars because it’s a small, family owned spot. Restaurants are very hard to run, and I get that. But I just can’t recommend this place.

Very surprised by some of the one star reviews which I find very, very different from my experience. I have eaten at Shanghai’s on average once a week for over six years. My guest there is an elderly lady with her daughter. They eat like bird and share a meal and have never been asked to pay extra nor has it ever been an issue. The wait staff is friendly and refills the tea pot regularly. They are not cloyingly present, just efficient. The food is solid. I have lived in SF for 20 years before moving to Sonoma and no Shanghai is not as interesting or tasty as what you can find in SF but the chicken is real not that weird slimy stuff you can find elsewhere, the portions generous and the menu offers something for everyone. Pot stickers are quite good. They had a remodel this year and they take a lot of pride in their food and restaurant.

We love it here. Food is very good. Service is great and always with a smile. Some of our favorites: General’s Chicken, Prawns with Mixed Veggies, Hong Kong style chow mein – but pan fried, not deep fried! I love that they offer Diet 7-up…silly I know, but where else can you get a diet, caffeine free soda? One of my favorite places for lunch.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review before so that in itself says a lot. My bf and I weren’t that hungry so we ordered a lunch special to share, the waitress said no and that it would be a minimum of $ 5 for him to just sit there. So we ordered the orange chicken lunch special to go and it was okay(to be generous), nastiest egg roll I’ve eaten. So we paid and as we were walking out the waitress said we were lucky we didn’t have to pay for the cup of tea we drank. Please spare yourself and don’t eat here, the atmosphere is horrible as well. Sorry to write such a bad review but I give this place 0 stars.

Worst Chinese food in a long time. Greasy and unimaginative. Sweet and Sour Pork was tough and chewy and tasted old. Fried rice had no veg in it. Bland thin cabbage-y soup. Fried wontons just shoe leather. First and only visit. Threw my entire meal away. Why can’t Sonoma have a decent Chinese restaurant?

I’m still kinda new in town. THISISTHEBESTCHINESEFOODINTOWN. Reminds me of my fav spot at home. The food taste fresh. It hasn’t been sitting in a nasty buffet all day. The prices are unbeatable. Staff is super nice and the restaurant is kept clean. The lunch specials are mad good! I will never go back to the place«across the street»
