Papa Murphy’s

Not even worth 1 star. This place is so disappointing. Especially after seeing how the previous owners ran it. They were amazing! Whomever the new owner is needs to shut it down. It’s disgusting… toppings everywhere, messy counters, filthy front door (on the Inside!!), the kids that «work» there are like teenage zombies, worst service ever. Even a cigarette butt squished in the corner, nice! This is outrageous and completely unacceptable. Where’s the health department? Where’s the owner? Who’s manning the ship? Someone has to do something. I’m starting here. I asked if I could speak to the owner or manager, or at least get the contact info…*blank stare* she had no idea who they were or their names. Wow! Everyone stay away, seriously. My kids love papa Murphy pizza but that’s it, that was the last time.

«Stuffed crust» had to be tossed away. It was mostly dough, with a very thin smear of sauce between 2 layers of dough. And it cost lots of dough!

Picked up a large Herb Chicken pizza last night and brought it home. It was pretty good. We’ll be back.

Where do I begin with this place? I’ve been going here for years and have seen nothing but a steady decline in customer service and food quality. If it wasn’t for the simple fact that this is the only Papa Murphy’s in town I would NEVER spend another dollar here. The staff consist of suspect looking teenage girls who have absolutely no customer service or pizza making skills. I quit making phone orders for the fact that every time I showed up, my order slip was sitting on the counter. This happened well over ten times, I found out it was more efficient just to order when you get there. This last time was unbelievable, I came in around 4pm and found two girls working at the speed of a DMV worker, with a lobby full of customers. After waiting 25 minutes, I went home and discovered my pizza dough had an odd color and texture to it. I could only assume that something went wrong with the recipe or that it had passed its expiration date. Im an done with this place and I will be contacting your corporate office to file a complaint.

My family loves this place the pizza are delicious but the last 3 times I have to wait over 35 min for my pizza and every time they mess up on my pizza. Only girl that knows what she’s doing seems to be Jackie she is clean fast and best at customer service. After 3 times of horrible service I won’t be going back.

I’ve been here twice now and have ran into the same issues as most other Unilocalers, it seems. The pizza is good, but the staff have some issues that need to be sorted out. Actually, it seems like a lack of proper management.
On my first visit, they seemed apathetic and utterly uninterested in any common niceties. The pizza was done when I arrived though, so I was happy to take it home.
For my second visit, I was told on the phone that my pizza would be ready «in a couple minutes.» That was at 4:39 p.m. It is now 5:15 as I write this, and I’m still waiting for my uncooked pizza.
I may or may not get around to updating this after having my pizza, but either way my advice is the same: get your pizza fix here if you must, but don’t expect it on time with a smile.

I really enjoy the pizza here, I order from them all the time, my only complaint is that the employees who work there seem lazy and don’t pay attention to what they are doing and make a lot of mistakes. For example on my most recent visit the staff had messed up not only my order but ever other customers order as well, giving the wrong pizza to each person. Also when I handed them my free pizza coupon they still charged me for both pizzas and when I came back to get it corrected and get the correct pizza order they gave me the correct pizza but still failed to hand me the cash discount until I had to ask for the 3^rd time. My one star review is for extremely poor customer service. My family and I are discussing other pizza options in Sonoma until you’re staff is either trained correctly and/​or care about their customers and their job. As a side note, even my friend has stopped frequenting your store because one employee in the middle of making his pizza with plastic gloves, went to handle cash for a fellow employee, then went back to finishing his pizza with the same plastic gloves on. My friend got ill from that pizza. Unfortunately as a customer he will never return to the shop!

Loser place. The pizza is actually pretty good, once you take it home and bake it. But the store itself is terribly mismanaged and poorly staffed.
I thought that when one called ahead to order, that meant that you walk in and pick up your order at the agreed time. In this place you walk in and pay for it, and only then does your order get put in line to get made up. So I waited 15 minutes, most of it standing, while the overworked staff prepared the pizzas in front of mine, and then mine. 45 minutes from phone call to receiving my unbaked pizza. I could have gone to Mary’s or Red Grape and got a fully baked pizza in that time.
Also, I had a coupon for some discount or our order. My wife purposely checked with the person answering the phone what the discount would be, final price, etc. but when we arrived to pay, we were told we could not get different toppings on each half of the pizza. How hard is that to do? Either way each half of the pizza is going to be covered with one topping. Does it really matter if they are the same or different?
Customer service, people! Have it ready! Smile! Make the minor change! Make it feel like I made a good choice deciding to come to your business tonight!

Great pizza, but the service left something to be desired. My girlfriend and i get pizza from here when we are in the area and are usually never impressed by the service. When we went to pick up an order they had not even started making the pizza despite the fact that there were 2 employees standing around doing nothing.
After they started making the pizza there was a phone call so the girl stops making our pizza to answer the phone. She’s on the phone for 5 minutes while we stand there waiting for someone to finish making our pizza. One of the non working workers walks by and we have to grab her and ask her to finish our pizza.

Still good pizza and a few times a year only lazy nights it’s my go to. However, this has to be the most unprofessional place I have ever been in. I give it five stars because the pizza is good… then again it’s hard to screw up. I realize it’s a pizza place but when your friends are hanging out inside with no shoes on and you are trash talking the employee that just left I would say you crossed a line. Everytime I go in there it reminds me of why I dont teach high school and why I would never leave teenagers unsupervised in my business. I would rather go to another location even though I love around the corner.

Staffing issues need attention. Two weekends in a row this place has had two individuals working during peak periods with 15+ people waiting. One person making pizzas, while the other mans the register. Good that demand is high, but success will wither if manager/​owner doesn’t wake up to fix the service level.

we really enjoy papa murphy’s pizza and their salads. the price is right for the choices made and have never been disappointed. if you walk in off the street (free parking) you can order your pizza and they are not in a rush to get you going. all the staff are great and helpful and for a franchise, this is a great product.
the salads to take out are excellent. I would like to say that the staff are so helpful and kind and nice, unlike that teen aged worker heaven in boyes hot springs and on the plaza.
also not mentioned, there is NO SALES TAX collected on the pizzas as they are not baked there and are not hot food to go which is the law in calif. You save nearly 9 percent on the purchase of your pizza and salads (not on carbonated beverages though)
Go Papa Murphy’s what a good product and good business.

We just picked up a pizza at Papa Murphy’s Sonoma Store. They we’re out of the thin crust… OK I get that. But the counter was filthy-​and I have pictures to prove it!!! The underside of our pie was covered with old food? I have allergies to certain foods, so this was a waste of money and time. PLEASE bring back the old owners. The poor nubee at the register was so intimidated by the lead «guy» his face was beet red! I had to go sit in the car. Then the big guy spill water all over the floor and had to keep walking back and forth through it. Wouldn’t the new owners think about having two experienced staff on so the new guy could shadow one of them. I was embarrassed this young man.
Guess it’s time to find a new pizza place.

This is the best place to get a fresh pizza. We stopped by last night and got the Chicago style pizza that is stuffed. Oh, wow! It is wonderful. And, what a bargain, for about $ 20.00 we got a family size pizza with salad, enough for six people. Amazing! And the service was outstanding. We always enjoy going in to get a pizza. This place is a real meal deal of a place.

Wonderful place to grab a quick, yummy dinner. Everyone is so nice and helpful and so quick. Sometimes I call way in advance to place my order, but the other night, I had a disaster in the kitchen and needed a pizza ASAP to replace ruined dinner. Called in and when they asked when it should be ready, I sheepishly said «Now?» «No problem! Be ready in 10 minutes for you». We’ve ordered over 15 times which I know because I have the frequent buyer card. Highly recommend the «Delite» thin crust with herbed red sauce and your choice of toppings.

Just had this pizza for the first time. I usually avoid the chain restaurants but this take n bake is by far the best I have ever had. I think it is called the Chicken, Bacon, Artichoke pizza… great deal, fantastic light sauce, nice thin crust, very delicious!

WOW! What a great place! I’ve been to a lot of different Papa Murphys but this one wins! The girls there are beyond sweet and were really quick making our order (we were probably waiting 4 minutes total). My boyfriend asked if they offered a military discount and the owner was in and told the cashier to go ahead and take 20% off our order for us! :) We will definitely be back!
