I only came here for a coffee, which based on the name of this place, I would’ve expected them to have a bunch of different bean types for their drip coffees. Sadly, their drip coffees were pretty standard. They did have a few different coffee drink types(i.e. lattes, cappuccinos, etc.), but I really only wanted a cup of coffee. I didn’t try any of their foods, so I can’t speak to that, but as far as their coffee goes, I found it to be just alright.

My friend and I were here last weekend and liked the place. I mean it was my first visit, and wasn’t expecting it to blow my coffehouse socks off. We didn’t get coffee, or any lunch items. I got a chai tea latte with almond milk, a cinnamon bun, and he got a cinnamon chip scone. The chai latte was good, the cinnamon scone was good, but the cinnamon bun was little one of the best pastries I’ve ever had. It was flaky, crispy, but moist and gooey all at the same time. I know, mind is blown. We sat on the couch and relaxed, chatted, listened to the music, and looked at the art. We will definitely be back but I can understand the wifi complaints, and the meh seating.

I’m a coffee lover and Ball Square resident and I’m saddened to report that this place is just terrible. I was warned but I figured«hey, I’m not a coffee elitist, I’ll be fine.» Nope. First of all, the seating place is always grubby! I like dining/drinking in but I couldn’t do it here. The food and drink is okay. But just okay. If you have time at all, order breakfast to-go across the street at Ball Square Café. Incomparable. If you’re looking for coffee, just go right in to Ball Sq Café. Even if there’s a line you can hop in and help yourself, one of their awesome staff will help you!

I really wanted to like this place better, so I’ve given it a bunch of tries, but there are just so many things that are disappointing(particularly with so many choices of locally owned coffee shops). The coffee is meh, the food portions are really, really small(I always leave hungry), and pretty expensive. You have to pay for WiFi, and though a lot of the staff is friendly, there’s one guy there that’s really rude and arrogant. You have a lot of choices, so I’d want to see them try a lot harder for me to recommend True Grounds

This shop is amazing top to bottom! The staff is friendly, fun, and knowledgeable, and make you feel super welcome. Even when there’s a huge line they take the time to answer your questions and ask about your day. This is what really makes True Grounds a special experience for me — I feel like I am part of the community and like my business is appreciated. The coffees are SOGOOD, I can’t get enough! Their iced coffee is the best anywhere, but the Honey Harvest latte is hands down my favorite here. This is our go-to place for breakfast sandwiches and they offer lots of different ways to customize your order. I recently learned they allow dogs in the main room while you’re ordering! I just love this place and I’m happy there’s such a high quality, cozy coffee shop in my neighborhood.

Sandwiches are delicious, service is great and employees are always cordial and attentive to guests orders… I haven’t tried many things on the menu, but so far I have not complaint!!! Def recommend this place to people that are in the area!

Divey café with moody red walls and comfy couches that provide a comfortable and great view as you smugly people watch the massive crowd waiting to get into Ball Square Café across the street. I enjoy my toasted sesame bagel + sundried tomato + egg + iced coffee combo more often than I’d care to admit. Coffee is aight, although not up to the caliber of a place that calls themselves True Grounds. I like their food better. Dog friendly! Family friendly! Just overall a friendly neighborhood café.

I have been to many coffee shops around the world and True grounds is a café with high-quality coffee and food. I enjoy the ambience when I’m entertaining friends or just want to read or work on my computer alone. I’ve struck up many memorable and enjoyable conversations there. True grounds seems to attract a good crowd. True grounds is truly a gem in Ball Square.

True Grounds is muh jam! Sometimes I slather their Homemade Chipotle Mayo on my chest before making sweet love. Seriously their food is delish, the staff is friendly, efficient ANDMOSTIMPORTANTLY attractive. j/k. Well I mean they are, but it shouldn’t weigh on my 4 star decision. Their coffee is made expertly. What else could you want?! The only downside I can see is their prices are a bit high, and they charge for WIFI. I understand the logic that their location is very busy and don’t want people hogging seats all day though. Also I would charge higher prices if my establishment was always this bumpin’. Anyway try out this place, you won’t be disappointed. Bring your skinny jeans, apple product, and hemp conflict free knit hat if you want to really fit in.

Eh. Unfriendly, blah staff. My americano tasted like nothing. I drink mine black so it’s pretty obvious if it’s a good one ore not. I barely finished half. I would’ve gotten over it fairly quickly but with the attitude blah attitude from the workers… I’d choose somewhere else anytime.

This is a nice walk from our house so we enjoy walking the dog here. In the good weather there are a few little tables outfront. There are some tables inside as well. They will give you water for your dog if you ask, which made me happy! Their coffee is gooooood and so are their breakfast sandwiches. The service is friendly. It can be a bit of a wait especially on the weekends. There is some metered parking out front and you can normally find a permit spot not to far away.

Chai was fantastic, egg sandwich was delicious. I just wish the breakfast sandwich came with a fried egg and not scrambled. Will be returning.
