So with the world’s largest horchata craving, my roommate and I strolled into Tenoch on a mission: to get two giant sweet, ricey, refreshing horchata drinks. We waited for at least 15 – 20 minutes in the line that took up the entire eating space, and when we finally reached the front, we were told that there was NOHORCHATA. Not only was there NOHORCHATA, there hadn’t EVER been horchata since the place opened. Ok that’s cool and all, since I do realize maybe most people don’t go to a Mexican restaurant just for horchata. Except in this case, don’t put horchata on your MENU, especially the huge menu that hangs loud and proud in the front of the store, so patrons can stare at it while in line thinking you have horchata when you don’t and never have had it. The food itself looked alright, typical Mexican grub that makes everything you’re wearing smell like fried corn when you’re done. But the horchata thing is really decieving, and you could at least take it off your menu of you don’t serve it.

Tortas was amazing. They are really generous with the meat, and combination of textures and flavors was what got me. And it isn’t wallet breaking either. Definitely coming back!

It’s damn good, that’s really all you need to know. The line can be long and the service is sometimes slow, so maybe don’t go if you’re in a rush, otherwise it’s absolutely worth the wait! Gotten something different each time I’ve gone and I’ve been more than satisfied with the results every time.

This place was dannnnnnnkkkkkkk. The food: 5 stars(both quality and flavor) and the portions: 5 stars(I’m a growing boy I need food). Had an Asada Torta. Décor and vibe inside, 5 stars. The price is the same or cheaper than Chipotle… Not even a question to choose this place over it

I waited 45 minutes to order a Tenoch torta and chorizo taco. The torta was delish, a medley of flavors that was good to the last bite. Totally worth the wait. Well, maybe not, but it was very tasty. The chorizo was not the most flavorful, but the accoutrements made up for it. The staff were efficient and friendly, which kinda surprised me – hip spots can create jaded staff. However… when I stopped in the restroom after dinner, I seem to have startled a mouse, which ran out the door — without even washing its hands(paws?). Makes this one tough to score.

Way over hyped. Caritas taco was very good. Fish taco tasted frozen, mole sauce was grossly sweet.

I love Tenoch as much as the next person. My husband and I would regularly go to the one in Medford before this one, which is much closer to our house. However the service is painfully slow here. Why does it take so long to get to each customer? It takes at least twice as long to get my order as it did in Medford. From the time i start ordering to the time i pay for my meal, at least 10 people get in the line behind me. Ridiculous! This is supposed to be a fast casual restaurant — hire some efficient workers!

Soon… The sign promised Mexican food and so I watched with anticipation. Upon the recent opening decided to give it the olé college try. Was not disappointing, well a little, but we’ll get to that. Got a couple o tacos, fish was on point(I eat that sometimes now), really nice aoili, probably chipotle? Beans and rice were delicious, a bit smokey, very flavorful. Its quick, you pay and food is ready maybe 3 – 5 minutes later. Maybe less. And it won’t break teh bank. Veggie taco was eh, lacked flavor, I wish they had hot sauces. I asked for a tostado, no dice. I asked about tamales, not today they said. Super disappointing. Luckily they had beer. I’ll be back for the torta since I am told that is what they are known for.

As always, Tenoch does not disappoint! Best Mexican food around and the tortas and mole are beyond heavenly. These guys got a great thing going. I wish they had breakfast and flan at this Davis location(since it is closer to me!!) but it’s only 10 minutes or so to the Medford Square location anyway.

LOVED Tenoch last night — I had been waiting with baited breath for it to finally open in the new location and it did not disappoint. The staff was super friendly and efficient when ordering, and the food came up pretty quickly, too. Between my friend and I, we ordered the Choriqueso Torta, 2 Pescado Tacos, 1 Chicken Tamal(in Salsa verde,) and 1 Pork Tamal(in mole sauce.) It was all delicious — my Torta was flavorful, just spicy enough, and surprisingly filling. Paired with a tamal, it was almost too much food, and I generally have a big appetite. [It wasn’t a problem this evening, but the tamales have changing flavors and at other locations often sell out quickly, so make sure to ask what the options are.] I am no expert on tamales, either, but this was definitely one of the better ones I’ve found around Boston, and the mole sauce was rich and yummy.(And my friend’s favorite mole around.) It was pretty busy, and we arrived right before a rush, so in spite of lots of seating, it seemed hard for some to find a place to eat, although people didn’t linger long at their tables. One of my favorite parts was the map of taco origins on the wall — it was a great piece of art, but also a wonderful nod to the history of the food being sold, which often gets left out of hip, new non-European internstional food places. It made it feel more authentic and respectful of the cultural tradition we were enjoying. I will definitely be coming back!

This place is very good! I got the enchiladas with mole sauce and was surprised to see that they didn’t bake them, but it was still quite tasty. I think this is the best mexican food I’ve had in the area. It gets a bit busy so be prepared to wait a bit or come during off-peak hours.

Crazy good torts and tacos. Think rowdy group of friends on a Saturday night whose obnoxiousness is silenced by the tractor-beam deliciousness of this mesmerizing Mexican Deathstar. You know what I’m talking about… a bunch of chattiness that goes from 60 to zero when everyone is mesmerized by the smells and tastes of deliciousness. Then 5 minutes into eating everyone looks up and realizes where they’re at again next to their friends. Space-time continuum disruption of sated palates. Some primal desire you never knew you needed filled. Legit set-up and street-style mexican food in the comforts of a no frills open space interior. Service was very good — attentive and on target staff. They repeated our orders to make sure it was correct, even at our late time of visit. The owner/manager was very friendly, checking on how things were, giving us some habanero and ancho chile sauces he made and telling us about them. Pricing was fair. $ 3 for most tacos. They were hefty and plenty of food. I ate 3 and it was a full meal for most folks. The tortas a steal of a deal and the biggest draw. COMIDA. I’ve finally found a real-deal fix for my Mexican hankerin’. Most options come either in taco/torta/burrito. Every loves the Campechana and you won’t be disappointed. If you’re looking’ for the most fill for your $, though, the choriqueso is where it’s at… make sure to take either a Zocor or a hefty dose of the habanero salsa to make sure your heart keeps ticking. The Al Pastor, Adobo, and Carnitas will make you smile, too. BEBIDAS. One sentence: They have Victoria! Hallelujah. That is all. I’m so coming back I’m already there.

Amazing Mexican street style food. I had the campechana torta(carnitas and chorizo), on of the best sandwiches ever, their chipotle mayo is to die for. Girlfriend has the antojitos, sort of like a open burrito salad thing with potato and chicken, was really good, everything tasted fresh and as it should. Couldn’t recommend higher, I’d say this may join taco loco as one of our go to Mexican places!

This place is so great! The food is super tasty, I got the pastor torta and my friend got the asada torta and we really liked both of them! Also the service there is fantastic. The people taking our orders were nice and once we sat down one of the employees brought us water and napkins without even asking. He also gave us some extra sauces to try out. Seriously though, tenoch has great service and food and I highly recommend it!

A fantastic taco joint, we’ve been to the one in Medford and they’ve done an awesome job with there new opening! The food is good and very well priced, the owner is super friendly, and the breakfast burritos are fantastic. Glad to have them in Davis!

Delicious Tortas. I have been patiently waiting for this local chain to open in Somerville. The torta I had was great. Tortas should be packed with flavor, and the Campechana did not disappoint. Carnitas, chorizo, avocado and other goodies sandwiched between a nicely toasted yet super fluffy bread roll. Sure, it was a tad salty and a tad greasy, but boy did I enjoy eating it. I was completely full afterwards and it only set me back about $ 7. Service was friendly and fast. I really have no complaints. I was already thinking about coming back while I was in the middle of eating. I can’t wait to try more tortas, tacos, and the rest of their menu.

Was very excited for this place to open up and was not let down! Fish tacos were great – Very fresh, light and crispy batter, a little heat which was a nice surprise. Pastor and Carnitas tacos were both on par. The Carnitas has this barbecue-glazey thing going on with a pineapple slaw that added a nice tang to the whole taco. ~$ 3 per taco so super affordable. I didn’t see anything on the menu board over $ 8. The staff was really friendly despite it being insanely busy, seemed genuinely happy to have a line to the door. I was in and out in maybe 15 minutes so even through the line was long it moved very quickly. Excited to try everything else. Great food! Keep it up!

I was so excited to see a new Mexican restaurant come to Davis Square, and Tenoch exceeded my expectations. I had the quesadilla de flor de calabaza, and it was terrific — really fresh ingredients and different from the usual vegetarian fare in most Mexican restaurants. My partner had a chorizo taco and found it to be equally delectable. I also like what they’ve done with the space(I used to go there years ago when it was Alfredo’s). A tasty, affordable restaurant and a welcome addition to Davis Square.

Very good, authentic Mexican food. Friendly staff. Very fresh ingredients. It’s a small place and can get a little crowded at times, but worth the wait.
