Service is friendly and the place is clean. Now on to the important stuff: the pizza. Classic NY style pizza with above average quality dough and ingredients. The toppings are all super fresh, flavorful and a abundant. It’s hard to stand out in the over saturated NJ pizza market but Prima does so by providing excellent pizza and value. 30 year pizza institutions aren’t uncommon in this area and I wish Prima the best in becoming one.

This is such a wonderful place! I recently moved here and went to try their pizza and just love the vibe of the employees. Wonderful pizza and they were very fun! Try the Italian ice and the cannoli was very delicious!

We have a lot of pizza places in the area. This one has the best quality by far. I would highly recommend it.

The pizza here is amazing. My boyfriend has Celiac’s, so we order the gluten free pizza regularly from them. It tastes like actual pizza! And they’re very careful with cross contamination. Every gluten free pizza is cooked in a foil tray so it doesn’t come in contact with the same cooking surface as the regular pizzas, and it comes with it’s own single-use cutter so you don’t have to worry about them using the wrong tools. As for their regular pizza, it’s by far the best pizza in Somerville. Plus sometimes they throw in a free soda with our order(a perk of being a regular), which is always nice.

The pizza here is mediocre at best. The interior is not bad, its a cute, clean place, so for that I can give them credit as it is a new retail space. Unfortunately the pizza is just nothing great. The sauce is very garlicky, the dough is unfortunately a typically chewy/doughy consistency, and the cheese is nothing special. It is really hard to find a good slice in the Somerset County area. It seems like nobody can deliver that truly delicious New York Style Pizza, thin, crispy crust with a robust tomato sauce and excellent quality cheese. Maybe its just the water.

I’ve ordered from this place several times before, decided to check out the shop in person. Ordering for delivery: the phone is always answered promptly and courteously. Order is taken in a rush as I’m assuming there’s guest to take care of in person. My only ish with ordering over the phone is when paying with a debit or credit card, you recurve a loud loud and long sigh of annoyance. Ordering take out: Arrived around 7pm and was greeted right away upon entrance. The variety of pizza is almost none existing at this time due to sell through. We ended up ordering a small cheese pie since the slices that were presented look like they have been sitting for a bit, also a chicken parmigiana sand which. The pizza is always great which is why I order from here continuously. The chicken parm is decent, not the best I ever had but worth the $ 6. In comparison to price, it’s the best in the area and very generous with the meat. The place overall is nice and clean with speedy customer service.

Now this is no Brooklyn or Staten Island pizza but the Ville definitely has a new contender in town. Watch out hit or miss Alfonso’s and Central cause Prima has my vote over you any day of the week and twice on Sunday. From the pan meatlovers to the bruschetta with pesto garlic sauce to the Sicilian and best of all, the grandma, if you haven’t tried it yet you are missing out. I highly recommend ordering a pie and enjoying the new taste of pizza in the Ville.

Mr. F tried Prima again, and he is knocking them down to 2 stars. Mr. F really does not understand the 5 star reviews for this place. Ordered takeout, which was 2 pizzas, salad, and chicken parm sandwich. The chicken parm sandwich was probably the worst tasting chicken parm Mr. F ate(Mr. F wishes he read Frank L’s Unilocal review before ordering). The chicken tasted like old chicken fried in old oil. It was dry and totally inedible. The bread was also stale. A friend and Mr. F took a bite or two and threw the rest of it out. Mr. F feels sorry for the chicken that gave up his/her life to go into that disgusting sandwich. The salad was good. The lettuce was fresh & the croutons were crispy. But, this is a pizza place, not a salad bar. Ordered 2 pizzas, plain and sicilian. The dough in both pizzas were overworked and tough. Both sauces had way too much oregano. The sauce on the sicilian pizza was like Costco’s jarred bruschetta with extra oregano. It tasted terrible and the bruschetta sauce made the pizza too wet. Mr. F put hot pepper flakes and Pecorino Romano to help it out which made it taste a little better. While the people here do seem friendly, Mr. F did not come here to make friends; he came here for food. Unfortunately, the food here is just not good. As a side note, the 2 times Mr. F tried this place he was never offered nor did he receive any complementary slices as other reviewers claimed to have received.

These guys definitely put passion into their food and have the best Sicilian pie in the area. They have also been accommodating to my specialty pizza requests more than once, and expressed great enthusiasm over an eggplant parmesan sub they made for me once — and it was excellent. There are a few pizza places in the Somerville area but this once has the best service, passion and quality.

Cute pizza place. Simple yet nice. I liked that they had the forks and knives already wrapped for use. The pizza slices were good. The Sicilian slices were very good. The sauce had actual tomatoes in it. We would like to go there again to try their personal cheese or personal gluten free pizzas.

Good food and good ambience. Traditional pizza shop with an updated dinning area. Was very nice to catch up on the news while enjoying dinner. Most importantly the people are very friendly and personable.

Love their pizza! You can’t beat their prices, and everything is fresh and very well made. Their thick-crust slices are perfect consistency, and I’m usually pretty picky about that. If you’re in the area, check it out!

Prima is the friendliest pizza place I have ever ordered from. The food is consistently great and they always send extra over. The delivery is quick, the food is hot, and the service is wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about Prima.

a nice place to eat, its kind of tucked away in the back of a mini mall setting… the workers are very friendly, we have been there 3 times, and every time, we order a dish, while waiting, we are offered complimentary slices… where do you see that these days… the food is very tasty, and portions, are sized very well. the best part is when we placed an order over the phone, it never gets screwed up, why you might ask, is that they have English speaking and understanding employees, again, where do you see that, these days… highly recommended, our new, go to place for Italian food…

This is my new favorite pizza place. When I saw that a pizzeria was opening right down the street from my house, I knew I’d be a regular, so I’m just glad that it turned out to be the best slice in town. The regular pies are good, and the Sicilian pizza is fantastic, especially the Sicilian margarita. The owner is very friendly and chatty(sometimes a little too much if you’re in a rush), and often throws in an extra slice for free. The quality of the salad seems to vary between only okay and good, but let’s be honest, you aren’t really going for the salad. The prices for a pie are a little higher than some of the other pizza places in the area, but the quality is far better than Alfonso’s, Central, Vinnies or Sopranos so I think it’s worth it. The interior is very clean and the décor is nicer than expected.

Finally! My family moved to to the area from Somerset 3 months ago & finding a decent affordable local pizzeria has been an unexpected challenge. I didn’t realize how spoiled I was with a number of decent places in my old neighborhood due to the proximity to Rutgers & local demand for take out. Prima has delicious crust(flavorful & not dry) and sauce(not that jarred mess), this is my family’s new«go to» local pizzeria. Prices are very affordable, too. Most area locations, if they are any good, charge a lot more. Very friendly staff(owners?) who occasionally give out a free slice of Sicilian. Delicious & highly recommend!

Complimentary gourmet slices!!! Thank-you Prima Pizza! I’ve been meaning to write this review for a couple weeks. I ordered a couple pies(Plain, Hawaiian, Veggie) from Prima to be delivered to the hospital down the road. All pies were delivered quickly, hot and delicious plus they threw in a few complimentary slices for us to try! Prima will be our new go to spot!

Called in a take out order tonight in anticipation of Thursday night football. When I arrived at Prima’s I was immediately greeted and welcomed by Sal. No more then 30 seconds after myself and my buddy walked in, Sal pulled two Sicilian slices fresh out of the oven and gave them to us. He said these are on the house, thanks for being new customers. Our order was already to go, but Sal wasn’t done yet. He proceeded to give us a few extra slices and two sodas because he was ready to close up and was gonna throw the food away anyway. Sal went above and beyond here to welcome myself and my buddy as two new customers. I appreciate customer service as I’m in the business, and I know how difficult it can be to gain new business. Tonight, Prima’s Pizza gained two new, local customers. As for the food, everything was delicious and quality. The pizza was good and my veal parm sandwich was delicious. The wings are pretty good and the overall menu pricing is very reasonable. Overall, I give five stars due to great customer service and good food. I will definitely be returning and will definitely be telling my friends about the new spot in town, Prima’s Pizza.

I went here last Monday! I had a white broccoli slice and a buffalo chicken slice! It was pretty good. I would like to order something else next time ! It’s just around the corner. Really convenient!
