Nine bar is a great addition to Davis Square. They stock Danish Pastry House pastries(which are always out of this world), and they have a great range of teas. I’m not a huge fan of the espresso they use, but that has everything to do with my tastes and nothing to do with their preparation. The drip coffee is excellent, and they have a great selection of hot teas and iced tea in about three flavors. The staff is always friendly, even during morning rushes. There’s not a ton of seating, but it’s really cozy.

Top-notch espresso in a cozy space. Has outside seating across from T station, an excellent people-watching location! Or enjoy your brew in Davis Square Park just steps away.

This place is a gem. Wifey is obsessed with their cappuccino and mixed berry Scones. We go on our coffee date here about twice a week and the experience is always consistent.

Based on my iced latte and chocolate croissant, this place is quite good. Definitely deserves a revisit in the near future. I also favor any cafes like this that has outdoor seating as I go everywhere with my best friend, Monty.

I would give no stars if I could. I asked for a café at lait and he thought I said latte with almond milk. I was charged almost an outrageous $ 7 and took a sip and spit it out. «At lait?» «Oh sorry I heard you wrong» refunded my card which never actually gave me my money back and charges me again for a new coffee. Stupid ass you should have given me a free coffee after that mess up on your part. The coffee tasted like dirty dish water with Luke warm almond milk. I’ll never go back to that«coffee bar» again.

Such a great place! I love the green tea chai latte I get here and the barista is so super kind! Will definitely make this part of my weekly routine!

Great espresso! My new fave in Davis Square. Delicious velvety froth the way it should be and the espresso is much bolder than other places I have tried nearby. I just heard they do have a rewards program, and since I go here often enough, I will be looking into that at my next visit.

We stayed in Cambridge for a week close to Davis Square and found this amazing gem right across the T. The coffee and pastries are amazing and the place is very cozy inside with some outdoor seating as well. I like the nitro cold brew and appreciate that they use and sell Gracenote coffee. The morning glory muffin and bread are tasty, and the lemon pound cake is very nice and moist. I wish there was a coffee shop like this close to home back in the bay area. There’s also a star rewards program so after 5 visits, you can get $ 1 off. Nice perk! The only weird thing to me is that soy milk is cheaper than almond milk. Why not charge the same price? It can’t be that much of a difference… and providing both options at the same price would help those of us who can’t have milk feel better. What if someone is allergic to both soy and regular milk? Then they have to pay a small premium for almond milk? Seems weird.

Excellent place! Serves great coffee without being pretentious about it– a rarity in Somerville. They also have really good bagels!

Good espresso, pretty latte art, nice vibe/ambiance, friendly staff. Very small space so not great for working or meeting up with friends. Espresso is also pricey but worth it for a guilty pleasure splurge!

Go to Nine Bar almost every morning for coffee — cold brew, latte, cappuccino. Espresso is smooth with great flavor and cold brew is on point! Cold brew is fairly strong here so normally get a small size. Who doesn’t want strong coffee though? Staff are very friendly and actually engage in conversation. Always a big plus. I recommend.

I’m just in town, visiting for a few days, and waiting for the 87 bus, Nine Bar caught my eye. I walked in and had the best almond milk latte I’ve ever tasted in my life. The reason why? The bartender who makes it has this wonderful, subtle smile on his face. He looks like he is just simply enjoying life and making coffee, and that joy translates to the drink and into me when I take a sip. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

On the outside, it looks like a pretentious, overpriced, all white establishment that stinks of bad coffee, cultural appropriation and hipsterdom. HOWEVER, when you go in — you feel like people actually like you. Like, they perk up and talk to you. None of this silent but unaffected treatment that you encounter in these type of «trendy» places. If they were to remake a cheers type of tv show, this is where you would film it(but please no, don’t.). Great service. And you know that is more important than the product to me. If you chilling with bad company but have great food, that’s still a bad experience. But the coffee taste really good. Right amount of bitterness and so good. Only con is that there is limited seating, but for the area, I think that’s a good thing — too many of us(students) around and we would eventually ruin the service.

Had a cup of their coffee, definitely top notch! Will come here for coffee over other shops in Davis square. Only downside is that the space is tiny so if I wanted to sit down with my cup of coffee, the two or three booth chairs are taken over by people studying/hogging for hours. Their pastry selection is decent, tried the coconut macaroon. Overpriced for the taste.

Very small space, just outside the center of Davis square. It hones a good amount of natural light and the space feels open. Not much seating, maybe a quick sandwich/bagel/toast or a to go place. I got the cold brew, has a great flavor and is incredibly smooth. They have nitro and regular cold brew(I have regular) and both probably don’t need milk but I added soy: D I’m eager to come back for a quick breakfast of avocado smash. I would have held off on eating if I knew! . Also right down the street from Daves fresh pasta. I’d recommend grabbing and cold brew and an insane sandwich there.

Cute little café in Davis. Good coffee. It’s a no frills type place. I don’t think it’s somewhere you would park and do work all day because there is limited seating but it’s laid back with a ton of different drink options and snacks. It’s nice to have another coffee option in Davis.

Great place! It’s awesome to have another option for coffee in Davis, and they’re doing a great job. Delicious coffee, made with care, with friendly service and a bright, cozy atmosphere. They have that new fangled nitro-push cold brew on tap, and it’s smooth and tasty, and the pastries are also delicious, made by the Danish Pastry House up in Medford as of this writing. My only complaint is that their drip coffee is so fresh and moderately acidic, that, depending on the day and the brew and the state of the cream, it can actually curdle the cream in the coffee. Harmless, but a little annoying – the coffee is great anyway, so I recommend you just drink it black. Overall, great place to start your day.

Definitely don’t go anywhere else in Davis to get coffee. Good quality coffee and the baristas are great. Cold brew — I think a little more bitter than your average cold brew, but it was still excellent. Also had an iced honey(chai? vanilla?) latte drink which was good, but nothing I would think about in my free time.

There’s no such thing as too many independent coffee shops — so despite my deep love for another around-the-corner place, I’m thrilled to welcome Nine Bar Espresso to the neighborhood. Their iced latte with almond milk is INCREDIBLE. It’s like nothing you’ve ever had before. At $ 6.15 for a large, you better make it last and not gulp it all down at once, but it’s worth savoring anyway, it’s so good. They also have a small but delicious selection of pastries and limited seating, both inside and out, where you can watch all the hustle and bustle of Davis pass you by. Definitely worth a stop in!
