If I could give 10 stars I would!
This was the first time I had ever needed an attorney so I didn’t know what to expect and was a little nervous considering all the horror stories you hear. Matt was amazing. He kept us updated every step of the way and took the time to make sure we understood what was going on and what was the best course of action for US, not what would bring him the most billable hours. Matt is EXTREMELY knowledgable and always got back to us right away if we had any questions. He is very easy to work with (I was actually out of state and he went above and beyond to make it work!). I can’t say enough good things. If you or anyone you know are in need of a good, hardworking and honest attorney, give Matt a call! You won’t regret it!

Matt did an amazing job with our case! My girlfriend and I had moved out of Somerville MA about a year ago and ran into some issues with our «landlord» (I hesitate to even call her a landlord). Anyways, we received a quarter of our security deposit back after leaving the house in better condition than when we moved in… you could imagine we wanted back what was rightfully ours. We moved to New York City and when we contacted Matt he was more than happy to help us. Not only did we win our first case and receive triple damages, he also helped us to drop our ex «landlords» counter suit! Matt made our lives so much easier and in the end we got back what was ours + some. Also with the second case being dismissed Matt called to let us know the great news… and to let us know he would be sending us a check back for the down payment we did not exhaust!!! Are you joking me!!! What lawyer would do such a thing. MATT! I STRONGLY suggest using him if you are ever in a pinch.

This is my first non-​restaurant review on Unilocal.It was important for me to provide you with my thoughts. I would have been lost and eventually lost my case without Matthew. Professional, intelligent and thorough. Initially I was surprised to see that he was a very young man. But then maybe I am just getting older. Matthew McDonough is more than an attorney, He is a conscientious individual with the skills of someone much more seasoned. My case was a very difficult unemployment case. I did not have much hope of winning my case. Matt was well prepared, and so knowledgable. There was never a time he was not available to answer a question, no matter how minuscule it may have been. He always returned my call within the hour. If ever I need a lawyer, Matt would be the first person I call.

I hardly ever write reviews on Unilocal,but there is not enough I could say in one review to emphasize how grateful I am to have had Matt represent me last summer. Last year, I needed to hire an attorney to help me with a terrible housing situation. My landlord was a criminal and after an inspection by the city, we realized the living conditious were hazardous. The city advised me to get legal counseling as the only way I could move out would be with the help of an attorney. I called numerous attorneys over a week’s period and most offices either didn’t respond or wanted an exorbitant amount in fees (upwards of $ 400/​hour) that I simply could not afford. Finally, I called Greater Boston Legal Services for advice, and they made a referral to Matt. Over a 4 – 6 week period, Matt called me everyday and kept me in the loop of our case’s progress. He proactively pursued the landlord and his employees via phone, visits and letters to expedite the case. Not once did I have to worry about Matt wasting time or trying to hike of fees. He was 100% supporting me and did everything in his power to get me out of my situation ASAP. He also continuously educated me on legal actions he would be exercising and what my options would be. In the end, Matt successfully won the case, I moved out and helped me find a broker to find a new apartment. After having spoken to so many attorneys in the Boston area, Matt was the ONE ethical, emphathetic and professional person I met through the process. I even sought his help for friends needing immigration lawyers in California, and he gave me 2 – 3 cross-​country referrals in California within the hour that I contacted him. As such, I highly recommend Matt to anyone seeking professional legal advice and representation.
