Went back today and I think I enjoyed my massage even more than the first time! the staff was very attentive and professional, asking the right questions before, during and after to maximize comfort and benefits of the massage. I hope this relatively new business(open for about a year) is successful despite the economy because they are great at what they do! For some of the massage they use warm/hot oil… nice touch! You know you got a good massage when they get out the kinks and cracks(literally…I heard and felt it) and then you are so relaxed you could fall asleep right there on the table!

My search for the perfect massage therapist ends here … Markly is just perfect. The review is based on three criterion and may explain why the 4 stars and not 5. Ambiance & Location — 4 Stars –This place is located inside Gold’s Gym(not affiliated with the Gym though!) and can be easily missed. Heck! The place has been around since March’ 08 and while I work out regularly at Gold’s Gym I just noticed it. They have a small reception area and three massage rooms. The rooms are spacious and not cluttered; they have just enough stuff as needed in a massage room. The interiors are done in a soothing sage green color and the tables are heated and comfortable. I had a problem with my head rest, but it was fixed upon request. The music was a tad bit louder than I would have liked but I think it is kept that way to keep down the sounds from the Gym. During my massage I didn’t hear even a faint sound from the Gym. The Therapist & Massage — 5 Stars — Markly listened very carefully to my complaints about the back and neck and understood what I was looking for. I chose to have a Classic Swedish Massage and he asked what kind of pressure I would prefer and we decided to start with medium and if need be lower or increase it. For a successful therapist having the healing touch is very important and Markly’s got it. I felt relaxed as soon as he started working on my back. His strokes were confident, rhythmic and had just the right amount of pressure. He dug deep where there was need and as soon as he sensed tension and pain he softened his touch. He spent a good deal of time on my upper and lower back where I had the most pain and stiffness. After he was done with the back he placed a heating pad on the back as he worked on rest of the body which felt divine. The massage on the rest of the body didn’t feel rushed and he took his time with it. I have to give him a special star for perfect draping; in the past my experience with male therapists has been sloppy. Overall, I was relaxed and I got up feeling as if some weight were lifted off me. After the massage he spent some time with me discussing my feedback and also took notes for my future visits. Prices — 4 Stars — As someone who constantly has back problems, I have explored a lot of massage places in and around Boston. Prices ranged from $ 40 to $ 250 and I found nothing great in the more expensive ones. My quest has been to find the perfect therapist, conveniently located and at a reasonable prices. At $ 65/hour for Classic Swedish I think GTHM is just right. I have already scheduled for my next appointment and I think you should too!
