Fries were BURNT. Like really burnt. Sandwiches were alright, but not good enough to make up for the inedible fries and rude delivery guy.

Inconsistent yet I return. Like an abusive lover — when it’s good it’s amazing, and when it’s not I wish I didn’t. On a good day the mammoth burger feeds two. On a good day the gluten free pizza is made with the wings of angels. On a good day the chicken tenders will be crisp and hot and covered in sauce.(An order of 6 feeds two if you eat something else with it) On a bad day the burger is over cooked and lacks the toppings you ordered. On a bad day the pizza is undercooked and seems to have half as many toppings as last time. On a bad day the cold and dry tenders will mock you. Service is equally hit or miss. Sometimes quick and sometimes 45 min longer than estimated wait time. They cater to every trendy diet. Vegan, gluten free, or even whole wheat pizza crust was once an option. Their menu is huge and they try to do it all. Their side salad is actually always good — lettuce is actually green and the shaved carrot looks vibrant. Yet I keep returning because they do at least cook everything to order and it’s hard to find«good junk food». Also, did I mention the gluten free pizza??! They have Ben and Jerrys and will deliver it to your house if you don’t mind paying through the nose(which is fine — if I am desperate enough to need delivery ice cream I should pay extra for that!) I wish they had more vegetable options. If I could get a pile of sautéed veggies with my tenders that would make me able to justify eating here more. I’d vote 3.5 if I could. Rounding up for GF pizza and delivery ice cream.

3.5. I LOVE their sandwiches. They have so many for carnivores and herbivores and everyone in between. They also make all of their chicken tender flavors as tofu tenders. They have different types of hot sauce, buffalo, barbecue, etc for the tenders. Their customer service is also helpful and friendly, that being said, I have had my order messed up more than once. The staff has always been quick to fix it but it’s very frustrating. Still, I love the food so I keep going back.

Sorry guys. This would actually be about a 1.5 if I could select it. The name«Eat at Jumbo’s» is probably correct. If you ate there, you could correct all of the deficiencies I had on my recent delivery order. I ordered wings, fries and cole slaw, and it showed up about 50 minutes after I ordered it, which seems reasonable. I paid online and even added a 20% gratuity. So, the food is cold when it arrives. Hum. There are no napkins. Double hum. There’s no blue cheese dressing for the celery and carrot sticks(and the guy who took my order asked me if I wanted it). Whoa! No ketchup for the fries. And there’s not even a plastic fork or spoon, and I ordered cole slaw. How am I supposed to eat it? With my fingers, obviously. I’m sure if I was sitting there, everything would be fine, even if I had to make multiple trips back up to the counter, but you guys kinda suck at delivery, don’t you think?

I am a fan of their vegan options :) I have had the vegan garlic knots which are delicious and have tried some of the pastas. I will try the tofu tenders next. I also like that they have vegan dessert options. Nice work Jumbos, we appreciate it!

Ordered a cheesesteak and poutine fries tonight. Both were great. Ordering online is very convenient and delivery wait time was only about 40 mins. All in all I enjoyed my dinner very much. Well done Jumbos!

When I lived around the corner I tried so hard not to eat here more than once a week. It was very tempting. Now that I’m farther away, I go whenever I can for some organic tofu tenders, poutine, and various yummy things. Last visit we had a bit of a SNAFU due to a number of different issues but when I brought it up to the owner, he was very sweet and accommodating, and offered to treat us to a replacement meal the next time we were in the area. As someone who gives kudos when called for, I appreciate when a business goes the extra mile to ensure customers are as happy as possible. After we enjoy our complimentary yummies, we will definitely be back for another take out order :) Update(Dec 2015): Looking forward to a free meal and with tickets to The Slutcracker in our hot little hands we ate in at Jumbo’s but were disappointed yet again. Given that what we ordered was mostly inedible and we waited forever, the fact that only one item was replaced and begrudgingly at that was sad. Add insult to injury, the food wasn’t that great, and wasn’t what was ordered. Suffice to say, no more trips to Jumbos even if they are the only place I know of to do Tofu Tenders.

The first time we ordered from Jumbo’s I wasn’t crazy about my order which was the Seitan Bomb, but a second try changed my mind. I ordered the tofu/eggplant sub which was very good, but a little greasy. The tofu/eggplant sandwich had some spice to it also. What I was really surprised by was the vegan garlic knots. I really couldn’t believe they were vegan since they were so tasty.

I’m a big fan of Eat at Jumbos. Their vegan pizzas are fantastic(and if you get the jumbo size, well then they are jumbo). But an even better option is their vegan seitan bomb — probably the best one I’ve ever had. I also highly recommend the tofu tenders which come with a sauce of your choice, a serving of veggies and a really amazing vegan ranch sauce — probably the best vegan ranch sauce I’ve ever tried. Unfortunately I live in Dorchester so its not easy to get here very often. When we do, my husband and I usually order a jumbo veggie with pineapple pizza, a couple of seitan bombs, and an order of the tofu tenders and just live off of that for a few days. They do have vegan desserts — usually some type of packaged cookies(such as Liz Lovely) but occasionally they’ll also have something super awesome like vegan cannolis. I hope that Eat at Jumbos II is closer to my house so I can eat here more often!

When my friend told me about the vegan options & how they deliver I was super excited. So we decided to do so & placed our orders. Well an hour later & we find out they don’t even have the desserts listed on their menu & yet we still paid the same amount for some other kind. Not only did it take even more time to get our food after we ordered it but it wasn’t that good. When you order a sandwich that says it has tomato sauce & daiya cheese I was expecting just that, but it didn’t have any. My displeasure came after waiting so long for a sandwich that should’ve been better. The other issue is when you try looking at their menu on Unilocal,it only lists a few items which doesn’t make sense either.

Honestly, I don’t care for Jumbo’s. I found out about Jumbo’s from a friend. She explained they have vegan pizza. So I thought, awesome. I made an order the next week. It was very difficult to find their menu online. I found it through a different website, that had no prices listed. I ordered the largest size daiya cheese pizza and 12 tofu tenders. Umm ok, how does this come out to $ 42.00? I am not eating at a restaurant with wait service nor is this fine dining. Plus this does not include the tip for delivery. So I thought whatever. I’ll give it a shot. I waited over an hour for my order. Now the food itself. Honestly the pizza is WAY too salty. I ate the slices over a few days. It was just too salty to consume more than one slice at a time. The biggest pizza they have is quite large, I will mention. The tofu tenders were okay. I did not realize they were going to be so long and huge. A full serving for one would really be about two full tenders. They are good, but I personally do not care for them. The sauce is too overwhelming for me(I ordered BBQ). Overall, I won’t be ordering again. It tastes like junk to me. It’s way too pricey for what it is and takes too long to arrive. I do give them credit for having veg options.

I love their menu; so many more options than most such places! I’ve only managed to successfully order from them once. On that occasion, the food(chicken tenders, calzone, rings) was solidly good, but the delivery was half an hour late despite us placing the order 90 minutes ahead of time(via Foodler). I’ll try them a couple more times and see if it’s a chronic pattern, whereupon they’ll likely rise to 4 stars or lower to 2.

This is a hard one to write, being a consistent patron of Jumbo’s for over 4 years now, but it’s gotten to the point where I have to call them back about almost every single order being wrong, late(cold!), or missing something that I was charged for. Our orders get screwed up nearly every time and I am usually liberal about calling to complain. However when I do choose to, the owner tries to make it up to us. I thought the owner and I were amicable enough to get over the few times this happened, but after they continue to mess up our orders he just gets tired of hearing me call and we get into pissing contests on the phone instead of deploying good customer service/response. A simple, additional quality check before orders go out the door would probably solve many complaints, especially when there are dietary and allergy constraints and the orders have been nearly identical for the past 4 years. Today is my birthday and my order took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get 10 blocks down the street — arriving cold, and missing toppings that we were charged for. Sad to say that I will not be giving them our business anymore — let them feed the enormous crowds of Tufts students they claim have been over-riding our orders.

Was looking forward to the pizza here. As a vegan, not many(any) options around. Next time I crave pizza, I’ll pick up some dough and make it myself. Overpriced, under seasoned and not really a jumbo pizza when it slides around the box. Nice try Jumbo’s, but a definite miss.

This place has gone downhill for the past year or so. They were the only pizza place I would order from for a long time, but as of late have been terrible. The last 7 out of 10 orders(I know… why keep trying) have been wrong! My order is usually one item. It’s really annoying and ridiculous that they consistently screw it. The food is 4 out of 5, but the service is terrible.

Decided to give this place a second chance after they delivered one of the sorriest cheeseburgers to a friend of mine a few months ago, I thought that it was probably his own fault for ordering a burger delivery… Tonight I was delivered probably the worst chicken wings I have ever eaten, soggy, cold, devoid of flavour or seasoning, apart from the franks hot sauce poured over them, just horrible, made last weekends trip to hooters(my girlfriend had never been) seem like a good idea… Stick to Wings Over if you want something edible…

Terrible experience via foodler. I would recommend avoiding foodler, grub hub, or other services for Eat at Jumbo’s. I live about a 5 – 7 minute drive away and the food took an hour and twenty minutes. It came a half hour after the estimated time. The food is normally pretty good, but avoid delivery. We ordered a small specialty pizza and chicken tenders and the pizza wasn’t bad, a little over priced for the size. I’ve had the chicken tenders before and they were average, but this time they were dreadful. They were saturated in oil. The container was full of oil after I took the chicken out. It was barely edible. Worst part was that there was no apology or explanation of the food taking almost an hour and a half… If you don’t want to be a foodler establishment, then don’t be one!

I really wish this place, which looks like a mild mannered pizza delivery joint, would brag more so everyone would know that really is a real food superstar. Everything is made fresh at Jumbos. The ingredients are way higher quality than you expect in a sub or wings. The result? Delicious take out you can feel less bad about eating. Since I don’t eat crap food, if I need a fast food fix this is the only game in town for me. Check it out. You will be so very pleasantly surprised by the exceptional, delicious results.

Someone recently tried to spread a very terrifying rumor at a big party… THATJUMBO’S HADCLOSED. This is untrue! And thank goodness!!! I can’t vouche for all of the food at Jumbos, but I CAN vouche for the boneless chicken wings! They’re delicious. I would also advise against ordering anything without ordering at least one order of garlic knots. When I heard this nasty rumor, mentioned above, I started thinking of the possibility of living in a world without garlic knots, and my imagination was bleak. If you are having a get together and you want to order some delicious take out, this is a great option, get a load of wings or boneless wings, or what I’m told is the most delicious of pizzas… and like 50 orders of garlic knots, and you’re going to be the best host of all time.
