This place is pretty much the best. Whenever anyone complains about their dentist, I’m like, «Nah, I have no idea what you’re talking about.» Because I don’t. Dr. Cook and his entire staff knock it out of the park on such a consistent basis it’s like they’re taking steroids. And not the kind that get you 80-game suspensions, either. I’ve never had a single issue with billing. Granted, I use an HSA that’s company-provided, but everywhere else I go, no one ever knows what that means or how to deal with it(hint: it’s like self-pay). Someone at another, similar office, decided to lecture me about how important it was to have insurance, instead of just swiping my HSA card and moving on with their lives. But no such thing here: in, out, itemized receipt, yay, awesome. But of course, you’re not going to a dentist to talk about how awesome their reception and billing services are. And well, that’s okay, because Dr. Cook & co. are great at the whole dentistry/mouth care thing too. They’re incredibly calm and non-alarmist about your teeth, and your comfort is only behind your mouth’s health on their priority list. The downside is that you’ll probably wait a long time to get a first appointment, but what do you expect, given how awesome they are? This office used to be conveniently located between where I work and where I live, so it was kind of a no-brainer anyway. But now I’ve moved and it’s completely out of the way to anything(although within walking distance from the office, still), and I’m still going to keep going here for as long as they’re open. You should too.

Dr. Cook is awesome! I went there after being diagnosed with three cavities at Gentle Dental. Dr. Cook explained to me that these weren’t cavities just yet but rather were«problem spots» that needed to be monitored. Gentle Dental wanted to do the drilling(Probably to make more money). Dr. Cook is great with patients, his practice caters well to the younger demographic of Davis Square and his staff were friendly and helpful from scheduling to intake. Big fan of this place and I will be a patient for many years.

Hm, weird, this is a duplicate for Casey Cook, DMD( ). I’d recommend going there instead for more accurate reviews. Anyway here was my review for that: I first started coming here about 4 – 5 years ago while I was in college and lived nearby. I had a LOT of cavities(that’s what college drinking, slacking on dental hygiene, and avoiding dentist appointments for two years will do to you), but it was kind of a blessing, as during my almost-monthly visits, I got to know Dr. Cook & staff well. Before I came here, I’d always been suspicious of dentists trying to invent or exaggerate problems to make $$, but Dr. Cook is completely down-to-earth and honest. All of the hygienists/assistants are also really great. Also, what other dentists have Christmas parties for their patients?! I actually looked forward to my appointments. Since college, I’ve moved away to Back Bay, but still found him worth the longer commute. Now I’m moving out-of-state and I’m going to miss this place! I know he has a huge waiting list and surely is not lacking in positive reviews, but I’d recommend him to anyone in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area — It’s worth the wait.
