Boston Acting Classes

I did the Intro to Acting class and it was a great experience. Would go again.

I was interested in getting into theater in Boston, so I signed up for their intro class on a whim. I’ve now taken two classes with Art and Amanda, and I plan on taking as many more as I can. The atmosphere is so fun, and I’ve learned so much about technique, how to approach and play with text, and performing. I recommend this class to anyone who wants to have a fun class, wants to get into theater, or is an actor wanting to brush up on skills or learn new things. I used to take a lot of acting classes, and I don’t remember getting as much out of any of them as I do out of this. Go sign up!

With Art & Amanda it’s twice the coaching and two times the fun! The classes are very well organized — basic warmup drills, tongue-​twisters and loosen-​up exercises, improv. sessions, monologues and scenes etc. You will find that this structure is very useful especially if you are a newbie to acting.
I decided to take a lesson with Boston Acting not to pursue acting but to help improve my public speaking skills. I present concepts and defend design choices as part of my daily work. After taking a couple classes I now act in plays and short films, yes and of course I deliver my presentations with killer confidence!
These classes will introduce you to a lot of acting and film-​making concepts in the most interesting and playful ways. You will begin to see movies and appreciate performance under a different light.
Oh and I forgot to mention the one bad thing about these classes… they have an ending!

Amanda is a joy to work with. She’s excellent at her craft and also very encouraging. Whenever I leave her I feel confident and have so many more options about a scene, than when I arrived. When you’re working on a craft like acting, it’s important to feel safe. Amanda provides that environment and also a lot of fun. This is a win, win. Totally worth investing in your craft with this group.
