I was referred to Blackstone by a reputable Boston antique dealer after seeking a recommendation to have my period inlaid Federal sideboard restored. The owner, Dan McAuliffe, and his staff impressed me as knowledgable and capable, and I was right. The new repairs are imperceptible, blending perfectly with the original surfaces, and the work was completed in a timely manner. I couldn’t be more satisfied!

These guys know their business. Several years ago I had six antique chairs that wobbled dangerously — knowledgeable workers came when they said they would, gave me a fair estimate, carefully removed the chairs, stabilized and re-​glued them, and brought them back in good order and good time. Dan McCulllough is the main man; I believe he has four or five people working for him so the shop can do work in a timely fashion. I have rated them pricey (3 $‘s) because they are doing delicate work for which they deserve good pay, but I think they give value. I have just called them to repair a table; if they mess up, I’ll re-​write this review.
