Somerset Eye Care

Very good experience! I’ve needed corrective lenses since middle school, so I have a pretty long history of going to optometrists. I’m used to the whole ordeal taking several hours. When I went to Somerset Eye Care, the appointment was finished much sooner than I expected! I showed up early and expected to wait a bit, but instead I was seen right away! My eye exam was quick but also thorough. The doctor was very kind and competent. They did try to sell me glasses while I waited for my pupils to dilate, but when I explained that I order my glasses online they didn’t push me on that or anything. I did order contacts through the office. I definitely plan to return to this office again!

Be aware, they will try to sell you glasses while waiting. I hate it when your doctor has a conflict of interest!

We are new to Somerset Eye, as we are former patients of Lens N Eye (who sold their practice Somerset Eye, upon retiring). We have only seen Dr. Shah, who is WONDERFUL! She is so thorough and comprehensive with the examination, and really takes her time to explain things in a language that you will completely understand, which I really appreciated about her. The office staff is super-​sweet and helpful, and it is so nice to still have Rachel and Bruce (formerly with Lens N Eye) be part of this new Somerset Eye Care team. :-)

All my past eye exams have been at various Sears Optical centers because of the insurance restrictions. So when my insurance changed– I was forced to find a new place. After looking at the insurance website & reading few reviews online, I decided to make an appointment with Lens’n Eye. They are located right off route 27 in a shopping strip so it’s easy to get to & they have plenty of parking. Even though this was my first time, the front desk was ready as soon as I arrived. They had my file ready and all the insurance information was printed. The front desk lady took a time to explain it to me and did it in the nicest way. The front desk staff is very friendly (even on the phone when I made the appointment & confirmation call the day before) so service is great. My appointment was on a Saturday at 11:40 am so I went there knowing I would have to wait but that was not the case. I walked in & walked right out so I suppose they don’t double book and actually run a good medical practice. Dr. Kelly made the eye exam a very fun experience – I can honestly say this was the best eye exam/​optician visit I had so far in my life. Doctor took a time to explain everything and gave a very honest un-​biased opinion which was rare because they also sell frames, contact lenses and sun shades.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great Optical center – and I will be coming back again to get my eyes checked next year as long as my eye insurance allows it.

I’ve been going here for a few years for regular exams and one pair of glasses. They seem very nice and I have had no issues.
