Stones and walls Nathan Slade is an old graveyard that was founded around 1817. It contains over 500 graves and is still accepting new customers today. The Cemetery has a whole lot of people named Slade and the name is especially prominent on the older stones. The name Slade seems far less common as the memorials get newer. The cemetery has mostly simple stones, no huge and massive crypts or imposing obelisks. It does have a few unique and interesting ones but nothing really elaborate. Since many of the early burials were Quakers, this certainly isn’t surprising. A simple and functional cemetery with a lovely and very old stone wall around it and many mature trees scattered throughout the area. A quiet and peaceful place to spend eternity.
