5 years ago we asked for Denby on our registry. I reluctantly agreed to purchase it after my wife said we would use them every day and they would last forever! This convinced me to make the investment and yes it is an investment to buy Denby but there reputation is for very high quality and they supposedly stand behind their products forever. Soon after purchasing we noticed that the white Denby started to mark when you dragged a knife or spoon across the surface. Also the lip edge on all the items was very thin and with everyday use we started to get chips on some of the plates and coffee cups. The investment was well over 4 figures and I was unhappy so I contacted the Denby rep through the store I purchased their products. His reply was to send me instructions on how to handle dishes! Also this line was discontinued and I couldn’t get replacement dishes even if I was willing to pay for them! My recommendation for anyone who is considering Denby is don’t do it … by a nice set for less than half the price and replace them every 10 years or so. Also don’t be fooled in thinking that a lifetime warranty means they will stand behind it. Warranty’s are only as good as the company that stand behind them and in my with Denby they do not.
