Love the cheese and the burgers. The fries are a soggy mess. We were told by a very grumpy staff person that our food would take 30 to 45 minutes. It actually took over an hour. The other staff were friendly, but this woman must have been having a bad day.

I stop in once a year to stock up on some great cheese. My favorite is the Cajun curds, followed by buffalo wing jack. I had lunch here and had a great grilled cheese made with roast beef and the buffalo wing jack cheese. I also ordered the baked Juusto with cinnamon and sugar. That was a great little snack to add with the meal. I will be stopping back in the future.

After a failed attempt to find the Ellsworth Creamery we wound up here thanks to a very nice local who worked at one of the truck stops in town. County Road A to I– simple as that. follow the signs. Quaint little shop past Willow River. –Wines –Small Patio –Observation window to watch the cheese being made –Antique cheese machinery –Pizzas –Sandwiches– lots of different choices –Little tables to sit at inside –Ice cream Nice assortment of cheeses– we got the regular curds, some salami and horseradish cheese. Nice and friendly staff who lets you sample some of the cheeses.

Went to Minneapolis and wanted to try some Wisconsin Cheese. Called Bass Lake and asked if samples were available. The person answering the phone said that they were and we looked forward to our visit. Drove 40 minutes out of our way and arrived at this little out of the way cheese shop. The place had no customers and two clerks. The samples were protected behind the counter and were reluctantly shared when asked. I requested one sample and was not offered another. I purchased nearly $ 30 of cheese just because. I was so disappointed when I opened them at home for a special gathering. The cheese was had a strong odor and horrible taste. I threw out Buffalo Cheese, Wisconsin Jack, Cheddar and an onion garlic cheese. Sooooooo disappointed and would never return or recommend this location. The location is out of the way, the staff was not friendly and the cheese was a HUGE disappointment. Visit the store inside the Mall of America… their cheese was amazing!!!

Haven’t tried the goat cheddar(and probably won’t based on the other review) but the herbed(basil) chevre is really good. I don’t get curds here as the best are about 40 minutes south in Ellsworth, Wis. at the coop creamery, but I do really like Bass Lake colby and several other varieties of its cow cheese. Cady Cheese near Spring Valley, Wis., is also worth a stop for its curds.
