I have been here three times. First time I had taken my family that traveled from FL to Muscoot Farm with my niece and nephews. I came across Muscoot Tavern when I Unilocaled what was nearby. It is so hard not to love the ambience, it’s a cute little wooden cottage. After my sisters kids ate they were able to play outside being visibly seen. The food was fantastic, the burrata is WAY better than the one we sell at the restaurant I work at. Being a line cook, I’m very nit picky about the way things should be cooked — however I loved everything. My second time was with a coworker. It was around Christmas time that we went, and Muscoot could not have been more romantic. If I was on a date it would’ve been amazing! Such a beautiful place and so cozy with Christmas lights.
Food was consistent, tasted great. You could either get a basic burger or an amazing pasta. I love everything about Muscoot, I don’t really get these other reviews that state otherwise.

My wife and I just came back from Muscoot Tavern and had probably one of our best dinner experiences out ever. From the service to the food it is amazing. I ordered the chicken kebab with quinoa which was the best quinoa I ever had! My wife ordered the salmon which she said was the best she ever had. Do not be fooled by the exterior of this place the food served from the kitchen is top notch. A must try for everyone.

Went back last night and they made the dish for me again with no problem whatsoever. Yum yum! My picky son loved his burger and fries. Glad we got a table. Special thanks to the chef for accommodating me with my picky wants and delicious meal.

Great service. Food was phenomenal. Had the crabmeat stuffed scallops with lobster cream. Live music. Parking is tough though. Made a reservation. That is probably recommended on weekends.

The food here is simply pedestrian at best. I’m not sure if they cycle through chefs/cooks(it’s been rumored) but the food is inconsistent. Ordered a family meal to go. The chicken was slimy and the pizza cold and rather tasteless. I felt taken.

Who could have guessed? An unassuming building close to the road, packed with cars(ok– maybe that was the tip-off). A friendly face at the host stand and at the bar hands me a menu and and Wow! Delicious from start to finish. Clams casino might be the best I have had. Seriously. Lots to choose from on the menu… Steak, pasta, seafood, you name it. Décor nothing to write home about but who bloody cares? I felt welcomed and well fed. Will definitely return! Update: The wife and I have returned 4 times since the first time and EVERYTHING has been delicious. The pizza is spectacular and the orrechiette with broccoli rabe is a don’t miss. The burger was«perfect» as described by my guest who is impossible to please. Add to that the wonderful manager gentlemen who always has a smile on his face and it’s a recipe for success. There is not a place within miles that compares.

The food was mediocre at best but the fun bar atmosphere and cool old building are worth a couple of stars.

Their dinner entrees are consistently very good. Tonight’s sea scallop piccata was excellent! UPDATE: Bobby, to answer your question, usually I order off your specials so I don’t really have a go-to. I remember another special from a few months ago, I think a stew made with sirloin tips, that was also excellent. Keep up the good work!

The service is good, the red merlot wine is very good. We had grill octopus on salad, very good. We ordered extra octopus since we shared it. Was great, I would definitely order that dish again. We also had there famous pizza thin crust was good. They never rushed us by taking our plates, we could actually sit and talk.

Recently moved to the area and had wanted to try this place for a while. Called and made a reservation for the evening for 7:15pm. We arrived promptly by 7:10pm and was told by the hostess that the table was not ready and would we like to wait near the bar or front room for 5 minutes. Not a problem! We waited and waited and waited and finally were sat at 7:50. This is over 30 minutes after having a reservation! Ineptitude! I have worked in the fine dining industry for over a decade and this would normally call for a round of drinks or appetizers or dessert on the house. Isn’t the customer always right? We were provided with nothing, but a minimal apology from the server… Not even one from the owner or hostess. This set the tone for the evening. Food: Crabcakes were great. Lamb stew was good. Pesto/chimichurri sauce for bread was utterly bland! Tuna burger seared rare and had to ask for more wasabi mayo, which was also utterly bland! Steak special was okay, but nothing to write about except for the mashed potatoes. Sadly, they were out of the 7 layer cake for dessert which summed up the disappointing evening!!! Live music was good but acoustics in establishment are already bad so can’t hear anything once music is added. Overall, not a good experience and so much for the purpose of reservations. Prices are high for a «tavern» for what you are provided. Rather go to Farmer & The Fish!

I have always wanted to try the Muscoot Tavern. I especially like neighborhood places, with a rustic charm. The atmosphere is just that! And the staff is especially friendly and upbeat. I was disappointed in my particular food choices. The tomato sauce for the calamari appetizer and eggplant parm dinner was watery and tasteless. And if the sauce is not good, well, it ruins the whole dish. I saw lots of burgers coming out of the kitchen so its safe to say this is a burger place. I will try a burger next time. The restaurant was full for a Sunday evening; probably with a lot of regulars. I will try it again but will stay away from anything Italian on this menu — the chef needs lessons in making a tasty, spicy, thick Italian sauce!

What a charming historic place. My expectations and hopes were high upon entering this chicken coop-turned-tavern, with a lovely bar area, spacious dining room and side room for larger parties and private events. I was a little surprised by the limited beer selection offered by this«tavern». With the exception of a Captain Lawrence IPA, the selections were all the usual large-distributor offered tap and bottled beers. We were a fairly large group, were seated promptly and our servers were outstanding, being polite, attentive and timely. I had an opportunity to sample much of what our table ordered, so I’ll break this up into the«good news» and the«bad news». First, the good news. The Montauk fish soup was a flavorful broth loaded with shellfish and with an(abundantly) saffroned broth(we joked that the chef must have used about $ 30 worth of saffron in the soup). The fried calamari appetizer was also excellent, with the calamari not excessively breaded and tender. Jalapeño«poppers» mixed in were a nice surprise. The shrimp bisque was tasty and rich. The house fries were excellent: salted and spiced perfectly, I could have made a meal of them. Now, the bad news: the«ultimate» nachos were the ultimate mess. Everything the kitchen could find was dumped onto some chips, ultimately rendering them inedible. The clam pizza had way too much cheese on it to make the clams even remotely discernible. I’m sticking with Frank Pepe for this item. The tuna burger, which one member of our party ordered medium was delivered seared and rare. The orchietti was also a mess, with ingredients competing for taste domination, instead of subtlety. Finally, the burrata salad, a special on the day we visited, was delivered without any greens, tomatoes or bread. Hardly a salad. Our visit was a disappointment. Potential unrealized. Not recommended.

First time. Highly disappointed! FALSEADVERTISEMENT !! Nothing was fresh. Place looks ok from outside and once you walk in it’s like your grandmas moldy basement. Flies were everywhere !!! Made the experience not enjoyable when you have to keep swatting them away. What does the kitchen look like ?! It was so sticky and humid. We were all sweating, constantly swatting flies away, spiders crawling up the walls. What a dump dirty place. Took so loooooog for everything. Soups took 20 minutes to come out. My order was wrong. No one apologized. Food bland, low quality. The couple next to us were really unhappy. They also waited a long time and their chicken wings looked frozen. Regretted trying this place. Should had gone somewhere else anywhere else!

Don’t try to order by phone. They won’t have it right when you get there. They had my food ready to go, but the Pizza I ordered? What pizza? they said. Nice. Hangry kids. Just what I need.

Living in the area for 30 years the Muscoot has always been part of the landscape. Years ago we would go for the pizza and the family friendly atmosphere. There was rumor of a new owner and chef… the food was suppose to have gone to a new level of tastiness so after many years away I went back to Muscoot. I took vacationing family to show them the quaintness of a local Westchester restaurant… they were visiting from way out of town… South Africa and Tucson. Every meal we ordered was wonderful!!! Even my simple white clam sauce with gluten free pasta was the best I have ever had :) The pizzas were great, the crust perfection. There was not a disappointed guest at our table! Our family continued their vacation in NYC and Washington DC. The Muscoot remained at the top of their list for best meal of their trip. If your looking for linens on the table and candlelight Muscoot is not for you, but if your looking for fantastic food without pretensions Muscoot will not disappoint :) Thanks to the chef and the staff for a wonderful night :)

WOW what a pleasant surprise! The food is off the charts good here. The people are very nice, the service was perfect. Place is unique, do not be put off by the low ceiling as you enter and give the food a try. Wow. I had one of the best meals I would have ever expected to find on a night when the power was just able to stay on due to high winds and rough weather conditions, traffic lights out all around town and these folks still made not just a great meal but seriously one of the best I have ever tasted. Hats off to the chef here, this guy knows flavors and the owner(Met him tonight) Great guy. Hope this place thrives. I am a fan and will be back as often as possible.

I have been thinking of stopping by for sometime. Today was the epic day of trying out this little hole in the wall(I say this with pride) not too far from where I live. I am totally impressed the food was fresh, yummy did I say fresh? It’s hard to get great tasting FRESH food in Northern Westchester, I commend MT bringing it here. It’s a small place that makes you feel you are back 100 years ago and you just finished working the land. The look and feel don’t equate to what lands on your plate but it’s a shocker that is a surprise of flavors and carefully crafted meals. We will be back, I surely hope they can continue the food excellence, a true N. Westchester gem.

I love the new Muscoot Tavern. There is no other Restaurant in northern Westchester that has a better or more innovative menu. The staff is friendly and helpful and the specials are delicious and change daily. Last Saturday they had a band playing in the corner and they were great. I Highly recommend this restaurant.
