Went here for a beer tasting event with my boyfriend last night and it was great! Very fun and interactive and a great way to try some new items before they even carry them. The brewery was called Forgotten Boardwalk Brewery located in Cherry Hill. We paid $ 25 in advance for the event that lasted about an hour and a half or so with a tasting of six beers complimented with cheeses and chocolate. The owner and brew master of the company were there and they were very informative and pleasant. We stuck around for a bit after the event and our service with the people who work there were very great too. I believe our bartenders name was Nikki and she was very nice and made sure we never had empty glasses. My boyfriend is a regular here and now I can definitely see why! You can try any of the beers before you commit to a full glass and prices and very average for some hard to find craft beers. Will definitely be returning !!

The selection is great for wine, very good for whisky, and decent for beer. These are only limited by the size of the store. However, the main point of the Wine Bar location isn’t just for stopping by to pick up something to take home. Instead, it’s about whisky, beer, and wine tastings. I’ve been to many whisky and beer events, and they’re always arranged well, priced reasonably, and usually very informative. Additionally, every Wednesday is Whisky Wednesday, and the very knowledgeable whisky enthusiast employee, Dave, makes twenty or thirty varieties of scotch, bourbon, ryes, and other whiskies available to taste for incredibly reasonable prices. You’ll never spend so little to learn and experience so much.

Unlike the other guy reviewing here — is personal preference a reason to dock points like seriously? I don’t mind Passion very much at all to be honest. They have a discount club, sell lotto, cigarettes limited snacks like chips some cheeses and crackers candy and what not. Not too much in the pre-chilled wines and champagne fridge – its pretty tiny. Selection: Definitely limited as the location is pretty small. Expect only quick, top sellers here for both cheap and pricey choices. For a quick stop on your way home or when you’re not in the mood to drive further — its perfect. Knowledgable Staff: Ok I’d agree here that staff knowledge is pretty limited. The time I did ask about a wine choice the guy gave me a generic«Its all personal preference — try it out and see if you like it» answer which is not what I was asking. Then again another staffer was happy to give me his ideas on several IPA’s which they do have a few decent choices for a small place. Verdict — Definitely Friendly & Helpful — In terms of Knowledge its a definite toss-up depending on who is working at the time. Store itself: Small — feels a bit cluttered. Do have a large bar in the middle for tastings or random folks stopping in for a drink. Windows are plastered with signs and advertisements. Prices: As expected a bit higher on average by a couple bucks or so for same price items. Green tag sale items are right around large store prices. Overall: Its another liquor store on the block. Within 5 — 10 minutes there are at least 5 places to go but if you’re short on time and this is closest no problems at all. If you’re looking for deeper savings on large quantities or more specific choices definitely go to Circle if your in the Somers Point area.
