Haven’t been back in years. And a few rude checkers are responsible for that. The grumpy blonde gal is the worst. I guess Rodger Nielson doesn’t care.

Best place to pick up local wine cheaper than at tasting rooms! Good produce, meat, cheese, and various dips to coordinate a winery picnic. Stop here and take note of what they have and prices before going to wineries. You can always return and buy cheaper!

Had a problem with the cleanliness of certain products in the store. I wrote to the manager about it, and I was really impressed that he promptly returned my message, assuring me that the problem was all taken care of. I go in about a week later… It definitely was not taken care of at all. Won’t be supporting this place any more.

Great wine selection especially for a grocery store. Pretty standard market other than that, like how they carry Harris grass fed beef though. So next time your around grab a steak and go ask the wine guy about a good Pinot or Sangiovese. I’m personally not a big fan of the deli sandwiches but the hot food is pretty good.

This is a very cool place for wine. On multiple occasions this older blonde lady cashier was rude. Never greets me and doesn’t tell me the total. The last time I was there she held a conversation with the bagger the entire time, not once making eye contact with me or said anything to me. Lady you are no bueno

This is the place to buy your local Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara County wines. The staff is tuned into the latest news and reviews of the Winemakers and their wines. They have the best prices in town.

I wish my experiences at this market were the same as other posters. The pros… it is clean, has good parking and sells local items. However, this store has higher prices than the other two local markets and the staff/checkers have been rude on several occasions. Im a small town and I believe in supporting small, local business… but I gave up on this place. We do not shop at this store anymore, such a shame.

I went camping over at Lake Cachuma and one night my family used up all the firewood and water. Everything costs so much at the in-house campground store, so I drove out the next morning to the next closest city, which was Solvang. I entered Nielsens and asked how much their firewood was. The guy at the register must have known I was camping nearby because of the lovely smokey BBQ stench and told me the price of their wood, but also offered to give me pallets they had out in the back of the store. I took about three or four pallets that I broke apart in the back lot and shoved it all into my trunk. They seriously saved me a lot of money. I went back to get some drinks and other necessary goods for camping and this time a nice ol’ lady helped me out. They were all so friendly at the store. Jack was right, this place was a godsend.

This place is a god send. If you’re out and about in Wine Country and want to pick up a few things for your lunch, go here. It’s a nice big clean grocery store that has an excellent deli counter. They will make you any kind of sandwich you can think of, and they’re HUGE for the money! Get a sandwich to split, pick up some of that awesome pasta salad, maybe some chips and a bakery item or two, and head to a winery for lunch. Excellent place. Really glad we found it.
