Great place in Solvang to come visit! I came with a friend and I tried the ‘expensive flight’(forget what its named, but its all the reds). It was only $ 12, so that’s not expensive in the world of wine tasting! And it was worth it!!! I really enjoyed so much of the flight that I ended up taking bottles home– which I almost never do since I belong to so many wine clubs. The ladies running the bar the Friday we went were really nice and informative. Overall, great place to visit.

Great property although far away from strip and downtown. Everything clean, updated and friendly staff. Just arrived, but restaurants and bars look delicious and very affordable. Only downfall is the pool. There is a reason only two people were sitting by it. Small, square, boring, in shade, no jacuzzi. It is however accessible. I come for the pool, my husband the gambling and pure excitement of «Vegas». I vote«eh»…

We came here for tasting and while they were very friendly and we had an enjoyable time tasting, I personally wasn’t a fan of any of their wines. It’s a shame because they have some great no corkage deals with some of the local restaurants.

We were sent here by a sister tasting room a few doors up for a half price tasting half an hour before they closed. There was another couple and a bridal hen party, but we were acknowledged by the lady behind the bar as we walked in… said she would be right over once the couple she was attending to were finished(they were buying a case of wine). She kept the hen party laughing too. Very friendly, informative, good sized pours. We bought a bottle of the chardonnay to drink in our hotel room over the weekend.

It’s cute, so there’s that. But for 3 years now we’ve done the Solvang Beer and Wine Walk, and this place has been nothing but a disappointment. I must not have the look they appreciate, because every single year, they seem put out by our presence. This year we walked in, and while it was shortly before closing, we explained that 3 other wineries sent us their way to taste their sweet wines. Knowing they were closing soon, we’d said we’d come back the next day. But after the attitude and shoulder shrugs, forget it. Even on the wine walk, we’ll pass.

Great wine, and also they have a sister winery where you can get 50% off on the tasting. Their price is pretty reasonable and the service is outstanding. I always come back here when i am in town.

First I’d like to adress some of the negative reviews. Just because you waited a time for service doesn’t mean they are racist… I waited, and I’m white. I just had the intelligence to realize 2 facts. One, they were very busy and two, I really didn’t call attention to myself… so I forgive them for not acknowledging me immediately. I’m sorry you and you millennial friends had a bad time. It sounds to me as though you got told to pull your pants up or trim your beards… point is this… you knuckleheads don’t pay the bills now. fat middle aged people like me pay the bills. Go to a restaurant or a mall, they are playing 80’S music to keep me and my people entertained. Don’t worry, nothing lasts forever soon enough you hear Justin Bieber playing and then you’ll know the economy is now relying on you(seriously, pull up your pants). To be a customer of a place for a while and not write one favorable review when your experiences have been enjoyable … only to write a scathing review when you have ONE bad experience has got to be the lowest form of troglodytian turtle shit I have ever read. Please people, take responsibility for your Unilocal reviews and learn the difference between a bad experience and a shitty place. RANTOVER! now for the task at hand. Please vist and say hi to Kelly. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the 50% off tasting at their sister winery. We went home with 4 cases as both places had a 2 for 1 case deal going on. You will not be disappointed… and if you walk in… and the bar is full up and they don’t notice you right away. Chill out give em a break. You’ll be pleased in the end.

Two years ago at the Mac & Cheese festival, while sampling their scrumptious example of Macaroni and Cheese, I had picked up buy one get one wine tasting pass from this particular winery. Knowing I might use it in the future, I had kept it in my glovebox. I had hopes I’d get an opportunity to come back to Solvang to use it. A spontaneous trip out that way with some wine drinking friends recently gave me the chance I needed. After stopping at the required bakeries to get the Solvang cookies, this place wasn’t too far a walk down Solvang’s scenic streets. We entered, and walked back towards the tasting area, where I presented the card. Kathryn greeted us warmly, and happily accepted the card I had held onto these past years. She said cheerily that they never expire. My friends then began their wine tastings. Since I was the designated driver, I couldn’t partake. From what I gathered, their wine was quite excellent. My friends ended up purchasing several bottles. I did however taste the port. The port was magical. All the while Kathryn was a conversational gem and told us about the wine my friends were imbibing. She even sent us to their sister winery for another tasting over there. My friends got wine over there too. I’m glad I had the free pass after all these years. Good job Lucas & Lewellen Vineyard. You’ve got a great employee in Kathryn. Once I’m back on my feet and gainfully employed, I’ll certainly return for a bottle of that magic port.

If I could give this place no stars I would. My mom who is of Asian descent was standing at the bar waiting to be served, the workers completely ignored her. When my dad approached the bar, a big tall white guy, they immediately served him. I didn’t think racist people like this existed in California. I will not support this business and neither should you.

We happened to meet the owner(Louie) at a restaurant in Solvang and he told us about his vineyard and tasting room. We decided to try the tasting room at Lucas & Lewellen the next day and boy were we pleased! Our server, June, was very pleasant and helpful. The wines were excellent, both my wife and I enjoyed everything on our flight. We ended up becoming wine clue members and are looking forward to trying all of the great wines. Oh, and as an added bonus they also include membership in their other tasting room Toccata!

Pretty disappointed in the service. The lady who helped my cousin her boyfriend and myself was extremely judge mental to the fact that we were Millennials and younger than the rest of the crowd shopping. If she was getting secret shopped she would of failed miserably. If I hadn’t told her I was going to purchase a bottle of wine none of us would have received any service what so ever. All three of us took notice to the fact that everyone else was getting served more politely and each individual was given their own glass of wine for tasting. I decided to just let her bury herself. Let’s be real the older folks might be who you think your catering to, but your demographics are going to change rapidly when you begin to rely on the younger generation to pay your bills. Awful service.

Very chic American history post modern décor with a great selection of wine flights… even more extensive if you’re a wine club member which my mom and her best friend are so hooray!!! Very distinct varieties of wine… enjoyed the whites slightly more than the reds though the reds were very unique in style. Side Note: Staff was very attentive but also seemed to be having a slightly off day… no comment there… other than always put your best foot forward.

OK, been here many, many times before & always had a good experience. Nice place, good wines, good case specials. Not yesterday. My husband and I stopped in around 4:40(they were open until 7:30). Maybe 6 people there. We walked in, looked at the tasting menu, and waited… No one acknowledged us at all — not even a hello! We stood there for a few minutes, and then walked out. Unbelievable! We were planning to buy a couple cases of wine — so if the owner reads this you can blame that loss on your lousy employees. Really disappointed this time.

Mark was a superb, knowledgable, and friendly host. His knowledge of wine far exceeded our expectations. The wines were delicious and the atmosphere was cute, quaint, and non pretentious. I would highly recommend this tasting room and wine selection to anyone visiting Solvang!

Knowledgeable and friendly staffs. The tasting room was very crowded when we were there. Tried the reserved tasting. Wines were ok. Tastings are half off if you’ve been to Toccata.

We visited this tasting room recently and loved our experience! They were having an event for their wine club members and opened their event to the public. Our tastings were complimentary and we were able to pair our wines with cheeses, thanks to the event. The woman that assisted us was very personable and pleasant! We bought a few bottles of wine and hope to come back here in the future!

Swoon. I love this place. There is something to taste for everyone. You can get a straight white flight, straight red or a combo. I bought a case of the rose, the viognier and the chenin blanc. Good stuff. The staff is always super friendly– especially Mary. Enjoy!

My father-in-law and I really enjoyed our tasting at Lucas & Lewellen. The ladies there pouring for us were very friendly. I lost track of how much wine we actually tasted, but we found that the wines here were better than most of the other tasting rooms in Solvang. We had a free tasting coupon(provided by our hotel), but I’m sure the tasting fee would have been waived… we bought over 2 cases of wine. One of the highlights of the tasting was tasting Port from a chocolate cup… so, so good! I purchased one of these bottles along with an old vine moscato, and the Nectar de Viognier. They had special on their Merlot; buy 1 case, get 1 for a penny, so my father-in-law purchased that along with a few others as well. Since we were walking around town, they were kind enough to hold onto our purchase until we were ready to pick it up(which happened to be the next day). Overall, it was a great tasting with great wine. Our dog was allowed in the tasting room as well; +1 for being dog friendly!
