My boyfriend and I made a pit stop in Solvang on our way up to San Fran and we are so glad we stopped here for lunch! Amazing little café with even better food. Great atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff and the food was fantastic. Caprese sandwhich and pasta salad were delicious. Great prices for what you get too!

I would give it 0 stars if I could. I couldn’t even try the food. Said it opened at 11 was there at 11 and stood around until 11:15 and doors still ere closed and locked. We could see people inside walking around yet no one would come open the door… We decided to go to The Green House Café which was wonderful. Might as well just skip this place if your planning on coming for brunch.

Delicious meal. Had the Mexican albondigas tasted very fresh and home made. My husband had the meatball calzone very satisfying and delicious lots of flavor. Gorgonzola walnut salad was very fresh. Price was just right! Definitely would come back.

Read reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I worried a little when I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and it was very empty. The food made up for it. The calamari with the Chipotle aioli was delicious! As an entrée I got the tri tip sandwich with the Chinese chicken salad and left very satisfied. Plenty attentive with refills! Two thumbs up!

Had the refreshing and flavorful Greek salad, simply delicious. A cool glass of fruit infused water was a pleasant balance amidst the hot day.

We had a really good experience here. We came in on a Saturday evening(holiday weekend even) at about 6 pm and were seated right away. Crusty, chewy bread appeared on the table soon after. Service here is very friendly. We had the roasted turkey breast sandwich with Greek salad and French dip with Chinese chicken salad. I did’t realize how international a dinner it was until just now! But anyway, the turkey sandwich was fine, nothing to write home about. The French dip was great, topped with sauteed onions and cheese, and served with a beefy au jus. I also enjoyed the chicken salad, but the dressing was a bit oily for my taste. Great flavor though.

Visiting Solvang today we had dinner at Frescos because during the day we stopped by to check out their menu and they had a very nice selection. Our food was wonderful and the servers were very friendly and nice. No complaints there. We had a nice table by the window and ordered our food. As we waited for our meals to come, some people came in to be seated and they had a stroller. BUT, in that stroller was a dog. It wasn’t a service dog. Just a little dog that they pushed in a stroller. And they sat them in the dining room inside the restaurant. Now I know that health codes don’t allow dogs in a restaurant. Fleas, shedding hair, etc. Not sanitary. Had they sat the people by us we would of walked out. I love dogs, but I just feel they don’t need to be brought into restaurants where people are eating. Leave you pets at home. I am so tired of seeing dogs in restaurants and grocery stores. Pet owners please be CONSIDERATE of other people. Not everyone wants to eat in a restaurant with pets. Managers need to be more strict and just say that there are seats outside on the patio and not give in to everyone’s whim. Next thing you know people will be bringing in their cats or bunnies or snakes. Why not?! No one seems to step up and stand up to these people. We have a dog but she is just as happy to stay home while we go out to dinner. And I wouldn’t think of bringing her with me to a restaurant. I think of other people that would be offered by that. Anyway, loved the food and it was delicious and the service great but next time I see a manager let a pet come inside a restaurant I am getting up and leaving.

Very good service, tasty food, beautiful decoration, fresh flowers in the restroom, everything is impressed! All natural burger is very very special with grilled fires. I’ll come here again when I travel in Solvang next time. The only problem is why we have to order in the front desk!

This place is one of the few places that’s open late(til 8pm) in the quiet town of Solvang. Although we got there close to closing we were greeted with warm smiles. They have a big fireplace in the dining room and the décor is warm and inviting. Their lunch menu is available through dinner service so it definitely expands your menu choices which is awesome! I had the meatball sandwich and red pepper soup. The soup was definitely made from scratch and the sandwich had the perfect proportion of melted cheese, meat, bread(fresh), & sauce. Prices are reasonable and although it’s located in a touristy area, this is not a tourist trap kind of restaurant. If you’re going to Solvang and want a good quality meal for a decent price you MUST come here!

Service sucks and the food is subpar. I gave this 2 Stars only because of the ambiance, otherwise everything else is a 1. the tomato basil soup made me want to throw up, canned soup tastes better. The chicken wrap was only edible when masked with a ton of ranch. Don’t eat here go to Paninos instead.

We were walking around Solvang looking for a place to eat so we decided to stumble upon this place after seeing its great rating on Unilocal.I ordered the mushroom and sausage quiche and fries which were so yummy! Everything on the menu was also decently priced. The place was really clean and the service here was good. Loved that the tables were decorated with wine corks — it really added to the Solvang vibe! I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat around Solvang.

We picked Fresco Valley because there was no wait at brunch/lunch time on a Saturday, and were pleasantly surprised how good it was. There’s a lot of seating both inside and out(the patio is dog friendly). You place your order at the register, then take a number, and your food is brought to you. It’s served in the same style as a Corner Bakery or the like, but the food is a step above. I had the half soup and half sandwich with the grilled chicken sandwich and chicken tortilla soup, both of which were very good and very filling. My bf had the fish tacos, which were also very good and very filling. This is a solid spot to grab a bite in Solvang(especially if you are sick of Danish and just want something American).

Spent the day in Solvang and decided to come here for lunch. Really cute place where you can sit outside and enjoy the weather/view. You order up front and they bring your food to the table. I ordered the goat cheese salad with chicken and my friend got some bacon and eggs and we decided to share the side of fries after smelling/seeing it on other people’s table. The place is slightly pricey — side of fries was $ 5.40 and my salad with chicken was $ 14. But everything was delicious, especially the fries which still had the skin on it(sign that it is freshly cut). Overall a cool spot to eat.

Very happy with my meal here! While on a mini vacation with my family in Solvang, we were looking to have a nice dinner and found this place. While the location is not the greatest – it’s in kind of a dark area at the end of the street with nothing much around it – the food and service was GREAT! I ordered the ½ sandwich ½ soup entrée and both were delicious. I got the tomato soup(which I have to say is one of the best I’ve ever had!) and the veggie sandwich with cheddar cheese(this was not as good as it could have been – it was all cold and the bread was not even toasted). My entire table liked their food as well. My dad ordered a side salad with his meal and it was HUGE! Looked like a full salad to me. My mom ordered a coffee, and while the first cup they gave her was cold, which was a bummer, they took it back and made a fresh pot for her. They were very nice about it so it wasn’t a big deal. All the staff there was very friendly. If I am ever in the Solvang area again, I will definitely be back!

Order Very Veggie Sandwich with no cheese, which comes with Salad, I ordered greek salad with no feta. Salad was awesome, so good, then started with sandwich which was so awesome as well. Ordered my sandwich with rye bread, but it came with 9 grain, but it was ok, it tasted awesome though. Hubby ordered Veggie Burger with 9 grain bread and ordered corn chowder, which comes with burger. The soup was so awesome, but the highlight of our lunch was the burger, amazing burger.

Solvang is already an amazing place and having this restaurant there makes it all the better. It is unfortunate that there are not many Danish/Scandinavian restaurants with high praise. No worries though, Fresco Valley Café is quick, tasty, and easy on the wallet. What I Had: Seared tuna sandwich on a brioche bun with a garden salad, Iced Tea The Good: Cost, 10 – 15 dollar meals. Fresh — the salad, fish, and bread were all on par. The vinaigrette dressing was really good. I recommend you get their house made sauce on the side if you order the sandwich. Decent interior, almost like your sitting at home. Local cork top tables is a nice touch. Order first, then sit down type restaurant makes for a casual experience Restrooms are well kept and nice Iced tea is fresh brewed(clear) — tasted great especially on a hot day They were able to easily customize our order to our taste Within walking distance of the main street, tucked away slightly. No wait Quick turnaround for food Free refills on our Iced Tea The Bad: I wish they kept the windows open for a slight breeze. I wish the cashier was a bit more nice It was so close to 5 stars for me. Was it a 5 star experience? No… which is what held me back. I did not leave thinking how amazing everything was. Granted, the food was light in the stomach and we enjoyed every last bite.

AMBIANCE Nice garden-like fenced patio. Don’t sit facing the ordering area– that way you don’t have to look at the people who can’t find a seat. And we had two aggressive flies. I was going to call in SWAT. SERVICE Excellent. Dude walked around with two pitchers– one of ice water and another of iced tea. I offered to scratch his nose for him. FOOD Interesting menu. Though it was a bit doughy, I liked my chicken parmesan calzone and salad. My wife liked her field greens salad with chicken. And the amount of dressing is perfect– not bland, not drowning. That may be why they’ve won Best Dressed two years running.
