They had heavy duty replacement garage door rollers(the only quality roller that lasts more than a few months for a 2 car garage) in stock that the local big box stores required you to special order or order online for a higher price. This business is easily overlooked being that it isn’t located in a high traffic part of town but I’m glad I found this place.

Do-It Center refers to Solon Hardware being a member of Do It Best aka Hardware Wholesalers Incorporated. These stores are typically individually owned locations or a business with a couple stores. The draw of a Do It center is their selection and this store doesn’t disappoint. They have paint, tools, hardware, gardening, home improvement supplies, and pretty much anything I need around the house. The employees are very helpful and will even help you find nuts and bolts, a level of service you can’t find at Lowe’s or Home Depot. I have shopped at the big boxes, but each time the experience makes me go back to Solon Hardware.

This hardware store carries Benjamin Moore paint(which we needed), all the usual hardware items and accessories. They also rent U-Hauls and other equipment(such as wall paper steamers, saws, etc.). There is one room that is just dedicated to equipment rentals and seems to have a large selection. You can get propane tanks refilled. The employees are helpful, but not pushy or terribly friendly. Meaning they will offer assistance but won’t follow you around the store, but will let you shop on your own, if that is what you desire. Store hours are inconvenient at best(only open 8 – 6 weekdays and limited weekend hours). The lighting in the store is atrocious. It’s dim(seriously, can’t they get a good deal on lightbulbs?) and makes it a chore to pick out paint colors and the like. It’s a bit pricier than big box stores, but easier to navigate(other than the lighting).
