I can’t speak to this fellow’s competence as a dentist, but I got a first hand encounter with his attitude when he took over the practice of Larry Hovey, much-beloved dentist in my neighborhood(University City). Dr. Brumm recommended that work be done, and his staff said they would get pre-authorization from my insurer(Delta Dental). Months went by and I didn’t hear anything. I called his staff it became obvious that the request had never been sent in the first place. I then asked to speak to Dr. Brumm. He called but hadn’t bothered to check whether the pre-authorization request had been sent. Instead, he gave me a lecture about Delta Dental, and what terrible insurer they are. I asked him to have his staff email to tell me when the request had been submitted, but of course got no response. His staff is nice on the surface, but incompetent. If you want more insite on Dr. Brumm, just look up Dr. Larry Hovey on Unilocal. At least one other person has the same impression of Dr. Brumm, that I have — arrogant and unconcerned about whatever may be bothering you.

Bruce Brumm recently took over the practice of retiring Dr. Larry Hovey in University City area. I was a patient of Dr. Hovey’s for 40 years with no problem about any of his dental work. On November 19 Dr. Brumm did two replacement fillings for me. It was an extremely unpleasant experience. I felt beat up after the procedure. It is now a week later and I still have severe bruises on my face and pain in my jaw. I returned to speak to Dr. Brumm on Monday November 23. He was sorry about my condition, but had no idea how it happened. DONOTGOTO Dr. Brumm. He is incompetent!
