My Fiancée is Tejano and grew up with Chihuahuan food all of his life. Bill ordered the bistek Quesadilla with no chorizo. I ordered a plain quesadilla. It was supposed to contain chorizo. I suppose there was a miscommunication and they thought I did not want chorizo either? At any rate, the cheese and tortilla that arrived was delicious. They served the quesadillas with a fresh warmed green chile in warm sour cream and broth? –I think. The meal was memorable. I am giving them five stars, although they forgot my chorizo and the place had an aroma of pine sol that offended me. –It really should be 4.5… I hope that they find a good non toxic cleaner. Pine Sol is pretty toxic! I will go back.

Just like their name says their quesadillas are just like that little town between Juarez and Chihuahua. The best quesadillas and chile rellenos around.

We arrived for lunch and were pleasantly greeted at the counter. We knew we wanted to try a quesadilla and ordered it with chorizo. I asked what arriero was since I knew all of the other fillings; arriero is a pork stew with chile pasado(roasted, dried green chile). It sounded good to me, so I ordered one of those as well. They also have refried bean and cheese, chicharron, winnie and other traditional fillings from the area. A salsa made with charred jalapenos and suero(whey) was brought to the table, it was our first time trying this. It had a little heat and a milky consistency. The burrito came next. It was a good size generously filled with tender pork shoulder, cut into chunks, green chile, and pinto beans. It was perfect! The meat was tender, the chile was spicy but not overpowering and the beans combined to make a really delicious burrito filling. The quesadilla came next. Asadero cheese and crumbled chorizo melted together inside a soft flour tortilla and was delicious. A couple spoonfuls of the salsa didn’t hurt either. By the time we finished we were full, but everything was so good I needed to order something else. That something else ended up being a chile relleno burrito. The burrito was filled with a green Anaheim chile, stuffed generously with cheese. The egg batter was so hot, fresh and fluffy it was hard to not get burned while taking the first couple of bites. Probably one of the best chile rellenos I have eaten out. Quesadillas Estilo Villa Ahumada should not be passed up! Fresh ingredients, and a paired down menu come together for straight forward, well executed northern style Mexican food. Some of the best I have had in the El Paso area. They are located at 131 Horizon Blvd., in Socorro and their original location is found at 14421 Montana in far east El Paso.
