Little Mammoth Steakhouse is the BEST steakhouse I’ve had in Colorado, l. Actually I think it’s the best Steakhouse north of Texas and West of NYC(except maybe the Metropolitan in Seattle) We came during a weeknight so things were slow around the village and Little Mammoth fortunately had a lovely table for us, but the rest was packed. Let me start with the wine list. It’s a good wine list. Prices are high versus the rest of the world but for the Aspen Snowmass area it wasn’t bad. Their wines by the glass were great however, so definitely have a look at those. I personally enjoyed the Napa Cellars Cab, which was great with our steak. Service was super nice and quick. Our waiter was training a lovely young lady who was obviously still learning but quite pleasant and quick. He was also attentive though he got hung up a couple of times chatting at a large table.(Note to management) I know he has to do this kind of thing but be sure to circulate more table help to back up the primary servers. I did a filet Pittsburgh rare, which means charred outside and a cool rare center. It came out a little warm inside but frankly was as close to ideal as I almost ever get it. We had asparagus which was $ 8 and only had 6 spears(these were not oversized) Paltry serving. The mashed potatoes rocked however. All in a great dinner. Nice job to Little Mammoth. I will be back!

We were here on Valentine’s. They had several unique and utterly delicious selections. Since it was Valentine’s we had the full meal deal. We started with the fried Avocado for an appetizer, then I had the Capresse salad which was amazing if you enjoy Mozzarella, basil, and tomato! Delicious -/like we were in Italy. My husband had the pheasant with rice soup– interesting selection which he described being full of seasoned tender pieces of pheasant. Excellent. For the main course I had the filet with the peppercorn sauce and my husband had the Ribeye. Each were grilled to perfection and full of flavor. We shared the mashed potatoes and asparagus which were also very good. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake. Excellent. A delicious meal. Our service was excellent. I hope this restaurant stays for years to come. Very romantic and relaxing ambience.

Went with family last night. Food was fine… nothing special. Service was poor. Food arrived cold. Very expensive meal. There are too many excellent restaurants in Aspen-Snowmass to waste your time for an average overpriced meal.

I went here with my family and ordered the avocado appetizer, bone in dry aged steak and boneless dry aged steak, and also the chicken schnitzel. The avocado appetizer was very good. The schnitzel was well executed, and the steaks were phenomenal. The steaks had a ton of flavor and the presentation on the salt slab was a nice touch. Wait staff was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and will definitely return in the future.

Had the most wonderful dinner last night. The filet was excellent and cooked to perfection as we ordered it. We also enjoyed one if the specials, sea bass, which was the tastiest I’ve ever had. Excellent wine list as well. The owner, Peter, gave us such personalized attention making our night out all the more amazing. I would recommend Little Mammoth Steakhouse to anyone who appreciates an excellent steakhouse. The view of Snowmass was beautiful. We will definitely be back.

I visited this place twice while I was on vacation in Snow-mass, Both time I had wonderful experience. First time I tried dried age rib eye steak that was shown at the table. The Steak was prepared exactly as I wanted medium rare and it tasted delicious, I had asparagus as side dish and it matched stake perfectly, also I want to mention that waiter recommended great Argentinian Malbec with my diner. I finished with tiramisu and double espresso. Second night, I order Red Snapper and it was probably the best fish meal that I had since visit to Greek islands couple years ago. The fish was tender and grilled whole, the freshness and delicious taste was out of this world, again waiter paired the dish with white vine that was perfect. This time for desert I had chocolate cake, that closed the perfect diner. I am looking forward visiting this place next year.

Excellent restaurant! The steaks are all served on Himalayan salt licks, which help flavor the steaks. And though a bit expensive, the quality is awesome! They even let you pick out your own steak table side! Also, the fried avocado is to die for!

My family of 5 was visiting snowmass for the first time. We asked around and were told to get the best steaks here. Unfortunately our reservation made a day ahead didn’t get us a table in the restaurant but in the bar. At a round table made for 2, 3 people at most. When asked to have a bigger table, we were told that there were reservations even though half the restaurant was empty. The waitress didn’t even try and make us stay. I didn’t really want to eat there anyways… the décor sucked, and they were rude. Big pass for us! If I could give it negative stars, there wouldn’t be enough on this page

Our favorite place to eat in Snowmass! The food, especially the steaks, are absolute delicious and far above the mediocre fare of the other Snowmass mid village eateries. The steaks are served on planks of solid salt — very fun and unusually! The accompaniments have always been excellent too and we’ve had the opportunity to try a full compliment of their offerings. We really are thrilled with the place and have taken a number of different friends there over the years. Our daughter, now 11, has been just as enchanted with her experience their over the last several years and always wants to make sure we return at least once, or twice, or… However, to be fair she has well honed palate and is more comfortable with nice restaurants — preferring them over a typical hamburger joint. None the less, I would highly recommend it for the entire family. Service has always been first rate; pleasant, informative, and prompt. We tend to be a bit picky, ask for substitutions, etc., and this family run team has been nothing but accommodating. We are now excitedly looking forward to our next Little Mammoth dinning experience this Saturday, Valentine’s Day.

We had a great dinner, the fillet mignon & hanger steak were melt in the mouth. Scallops & red snapper were good. Service was excellent. Had been to Jimmy’s last night & this was much better.

Wonderful find at Snowmass. The steaks which are on the expensive side are wonderful however. They are delivered on a Himalayan salt plate which added a great flavor to the steak and was a beautiful presentation. All the sides were good. Really loved the fried Avocado appetizer. The salads are also very gourmet and good. Also recommend the chocolate granache cake.

Took my family out for a special vacation dinner. From the very beginning service was slow, almost non existent. The meal took over 90 minutes to arrive. The food was fair. Throughout the evening I felt I was an intruder rather than a customer. I suggest you stay away.

I expected much more. Ordered lamb chop medium they came rare. Ordered aged ribeye medium well. It came medium rare. Aged meat tasted like any other steak we have ordered elsewhere. Not more tender. Then when we were asked and commented about it the waiter actually brought the uncooked hunk of aged meat out for us to see. OMG. Ordered asparagus. They brought spinach. Then an evening show of one of the chefs rubbing his nose and face then back to work. I know its a resort and i should lower my bar but cant go down that far.

This place was amazing. Basically a couple Serbian guys that worked in Miami, on cruise ships, and elsewhere, combined all their favorite steakhouse dishes and made and continue it modify their menu. The food was well done and creative in spite of still being standard, you know it will be good, steakhouse dishes(in addition to a few Eastern European specialties). I had a special that was«butcher’s butter» aka ribeye cutlets and it was incredible. I’ve never had ribeye with the tenderness of a filet and the amazing flavor of a ribeye with virtually no fat on it. Additionally, the others in my party agreed with an order of Filet, cooked perfectly, and some delicious pork dish I cannot remember the name of. Lastly, the server brought us a amazing roasted peach and ice cream that was the perfect combination of sweet and size for any dessert after entrées like that. Five stars.

I realize we came during off-season(a week after Labor Day). However, I made a reservation with you. You should have told me 1. That you were closing soon and 2. The only food you had to offer was soup and salad. Really? A steakhouse should have steak available. Period. We went to the Edge at Timberline instead, and enjoyed a nice steak there.

We gave this place a try despite a couple negative reviews. I don’t like reading long dissertation style reviews so here’s the bottom line. … I would put their ribeye and filet(we had them both) up against any Chicago steakhouse. Our waiter, Frank, couldn’t have been more pleasant. He made the experience very memorable. I would not think twice about eating here regularly if we lived here. It may have been the most pleasant dining experience we’ve had in years. They brought our steak served on a Himalayan salt lick. I’ve never heard of such a thing but it’s basically a slab of salt that your steak sits on on. The saltiness of your steak depends on how much you smear it around the slab. It was insanely delicious and I’m quite critical of steak. Our bill was about $ 100 which included a soft drink and a glass of wine.

Allow me to preface this with our situation, we were in Snowmass for the Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, all the Veteran participants received food vouchers for their meals at a variety of restaurants on Monday evening. The restaurants that were honoring the vouchers published their menu options for the vouchers. We were a party of 4, 2 veterans, along with 2 spouses who would be paying full price. First off the bat, their hostess(presumably a relative of the owners) was as nasty as can be telling us that it would be a 40 minute wait for a table. No offer to take a name for a wait list or anything. She referred to us as «you people» she was totally not thrilled to have a bunch of disabled people dining in their establishment. When we were finally seated, the manager proceeded to inform us that there were only 3 choices for the vouchers, only one of those listed on the info flyer. No NY strip, no fish. We ended up leaving since they were only willing to serve serve us spaghetti with meat sauce or a hamburger. I would not recommend the Little Mammoth for their attitude and disrespect for our Disabled American Veterans alone. They do not even rate one star as far as we are concerned

First visit was with my guy. Service was superb. Portions were large, with proportional prices, but our waiter was very kind about splitting. Even splitting one rib-eye steak, one side, and one dessert, we were stuffed for a day and a half, but the overall price was fair. Second visit was me(female) on my own. What a difference! Only seating option was in the chilly entry area, despite the early hour and an empty dining room. The ordered glass of wine came quickly, but water took 15 minutes. The excellent bread with chili butter did not appear. I commented on it when my entrée appeared, and it was eventually delivered as I was finishing the entrée. In the hour I spent there, there were two other tables on the chilly level occupied. The dining room remained empty, and I saw the bread/chili butter being delivered to the other tables. The Snowmass salad, rib-eye, and creamed spinach were winners. The Jaeger-schnitzel was overly salty, and not at all like a European schnitzel. Go here if you’re craving a great steak and there’s a man in your party. Otherwise, give it a miss.
