Great breakfast buffet! Service was fast and pleasant. Biscuits were awesome and coffee was hot. Fed a family of 5 for under $ 35. Great local spot, we’ll definately be back.

My party of 8 was looking for all you can eat seafood, especially for crab legs. It’s $ 31 for AYCE crab legs or around $ 10 for normal seafood such as calabash style. Kids were around $ 6 a piece. We were very impressed with how attentive and kind the staff was and the owners were even cooking and waiting tables. That was great to see! We tipped 25% of the bill on a buffet because we were very pleased. Wednesday’s kids eat free!

Have been to Madison’s a few tines the past few weeks… The food is really good. Our big issue was the price, Sign as you walk in said $ 15.49, went to pay it was $ 16.49. Told the cashier she said no that is the price, took a picture of sign it didn’t matter she stood her ground and charged us the more expensive price. This is the second time this has happened… not sure if we will go back.

Overpriced all you can eat crab legs. Everything just didn’t have the taste that you would expect. Even my 4 year old that loves food said his chicken and dumplings didn’t taste right. Don’t mistake us, we live in the South…

We came here for Saturday brunch. Everything was fresh and the servers were friendly. You can still get all-you-can-eat crab legs during lunch for $ 31, but you have to ask for them; they aren’t on the bar but get brought to your table.

I eat here when I’m in town with friends and it never disappoints. There is a variety of fried seafood available on the buffet, along with an assortment of vegetables and cold salad items(I.e. Crab salad, tuna salad, romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, etc.). The salad bar is a great choice prior to enjoying the rest of the buffet. One of my favorites is the chocolate cake with white icing & ice cream which is also available from the bar. If you are ever in the Sneads Ferry area this place is a must try.

We were in the area on business and happened upon this place and we’re so happy we did! If you want a great southern style buffet with the option of adding all you can eat crab legs then make sure you try this place. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious! We also had the crab legs. They were not on the buffet, they were being cooked and brought out to us steaming hot as we were finishing what we had on our plates! You would have thought Kimmie had known us forever! Between her and our waitress Rachel we could not have asked for more because they were amazing! If you get a chance to its a must try and when you do make sure you save room for desserts because they were just as wonderful as these ladies and the rest of the food!

We keep coming back because the food is good, the service is good and it’s a great local spot to get a good meal. The fried chicken is some of the best I’ve ever had.

Waves53– I don’t care what the people who say they were expecting a 5 star restaurant they had it That would be for Dinner as for the buffet it was excellent. The food was hot and a large variety. I love sweet potatoes with brown sugar and cinnamon and the waitress was very accommodating got it from the kitchen. The restaurant was clean, the waitress was polite, the silverware was CLEAN and warped. As a former waitress I was quite pleased overall.

I expected a decent, locally owned restaurant focused on quality prime rib, steaks, and sea food. What I got was about on par with Golden Corral. My first impression upon walking in was the strong smell of mothballs and old seafood immediately. It was present throughout the restaurant. Pros: +Reasonably priced +Friendly staff +Overall very clean +Salad bar had good variety and looked fresh Cons: –Poorly lit; not in a dim, mood lighting way, just poorly lit –Limited variety; prime rib cooked one way, one cut of steak cooked one way, 3 or 4 types of seafood– name would have led me to think these would be the things they did well. A few types of chicken, meatloaf, and some sides rounded out the main buffet. –Plain tasting –Aforementioned smell Although Snead’s Ferry has a limited selection of dining, there are still enough local and chain places that I don’t see myself going back here again– nothing snobby about that.

We will never eat here again!!! First off they advertise all you can eat crab legs, and fail to advertise it’s 30.00 a person for this type of buffet. The food on the buffet was all about fried greasy food, so if you trying to eat healthy stay away! Nothing on the buffet was impressive enough to eat here again. Fried chicken, dried out meat loaf, tough steak, dried prime rib, fried scallops, and store bought dessert buffet. The atmosphere was out of date, and catered to more of senior citizens type environment. It’s obviously a local ma and pa dining establishment with big city prices, and the food definitely was not worth the money you are going to spend there; 15.99/person on the Saturday buffet. My suggestion is to just keep moving.

Not 4 star dining so don’t expect it. Don’t be a snob! It’s a local across the bridge mom and pop type of place you’d probably find anywhere in the south… With Crab Legs. Yes the silverware is in plastic. Yes the sweet tea is as good as desert. Yes they have a bunch of fried foods, greens, cabbage, mash potatoes… You get it. A southern style(ish) buffet. The buffet was 11.99 or something close to that and if you want the crab legs it’ll cost you 29.99. Kids eat close to free and our waitress was ensuring we got the negotiated best combination for our money. In other words if your 10yr old wants crab legs the waitress recommended we buy a cluster for a lower price and then go from there. Thanks for that — most would charge the buffet price. We got there on a weekday around 5:30 — by the time we left there was a small line to get seated. Initial service on the crab legs was quick — then it slowed down. I didn’t have an issue with that — I was on vacation and I understand the fact that the entire place was there for the all you can eat legs — which weren’t bad. I certainly couldn’t find another all you can eat crab leg joint on the island with reasonable reviews at a multi– family price point. Which is why you’re reading this. :) If you go — try the banana pudding and they even bring you 1 of 5 different ice cream favors not mentioned anywhere if you ask. All in all — I’d recommend and will be back next year. Now go pack your sunburned — tired — we all want to pig out on all you can eat crab legs and butter family you only talk to once a year in the Prius and Minivan and get back to your Kale detox when you get home.

My family and I(party of 10) just got back from here. Overall, it was disappointing. A few good things: kids under 10 eat free on Wednesdays, they take reservations, they have a menu if you don’t want the buffet and it was cheap($ 8.99 for hot food, salad bar and dessert bar or $ 29.99 for the above and all-you-can-eat crab legs). Now for the cons: the food just wasn’t good. Everything was fried and had no flavor. There was a variety of foods(a few types of chicken, stuffed peppers, mac n’ cheese, mashed potatoes, hush puppies, etc.), but it just wasn’t very good. No one in our party got the crab legs and one reason was because they bring them out to you. Our waitress was nice, but not attentive and we would probably have to stay there for hours to get $ 30 worth of crab legs if we were depending on her to bring them out. We probably won’t be going there again and unfortunately this is the only buffet we found within a half hour of Topsail.

It was our first time here and we brought a big party for my wife’s birthday. It was Absolutely amazing. You will pay a bit but it’s totally worth it. The best seafood I have eaten in North Carolina. Friendly staff and the endless crab legs are awesome. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Have eaten at Madison’s a number of times. Price is about right and service is good for a buffet style restaurant. Food is average and is mostly southern style menu items. You can eat healthy if you order soup and salad buffet but general menu is largely fried or stewed with lots of fat. Atmosphere is lively especially if you are seated near the trough.

Madison’s is a cozy little restaurant. For $ 15.99 buffet and $ 29.99 crab leg buffet. We came for dinner. The buffet was a tad small but delicious. I got fish and fried chicken w/mashed potatos, mac and cheese and collard greens. Everyone said the prime rib was pretty tasty for being a buffet steak. I was told to try the Fat backs… I don’t know what to make of that. I am from the north and we don’t have fatbacks.(we have french frys and cole slaw on everything in the north.) This seems like a local favorite. Very busy place. Easy to get too. Plenty of parking. Staff was friendly. Décor was funny. Easy in. Easy out. Would recommend to people.

We were headed out of town on a Sunday after attending a friend’s wedding the night before. Every place near our hotel wasn’t open for breakfast. We decided to try Madison’s based on the Unilocal reviews even though they were mixed. I walked in the door hopeful, but that was quickly dashed by a very curt greeting we got at the hostess station. We were told there was about ten minutes left on the breakfast buffet before the switch over to lunch. It was about a ten dollar a piece price difference between Sunday lunch/dinner and breakfast. So we had to decide quickly, right there on the spot. Could we eat what we could in ten minutes flat before the change over. We should have just left, but bit the bullet and opted for a quick breakfast. The breakfast buffet is cheap, like $ 6.95, but everything looked either super greasy or dried out like it had been sitting there for hours untouched. To say it was not appetizing is an understatement. Nonetheless, we were there and had committed, so we ate. The food was just okay, and that’s a stretch. Let’s just say, it tasted like it looked. Thankfully our waitress was pleasant compared to the woman who greeted us, who was also a waitress. I watched her interact with other customers while we were there and she seemed to be just as gruff. If I didn’t know better I’d think she didn’t want anyone to come through the doors to bother her at all. Needless to say, this was a one time visit for us.

My family who lives in the neighborhood always talk about this spot and I was excited about finally being able to check it out. It’s a nice sized restaurant that has a regular menu and a buffet option. Me and my cousin ordered takeout from the buffet. The buffet was very small with limited options. The waitress said they didn’t cook ribs on Sundays. I had small portions of collard greens that looked like mush, rice, cabbage, chopped barbecue, smothered steak and a piece of pork. Most of the food was blah bland. I did enjoy the steak, barbecue and collard greens. Thank goodness I didn’t pile a lot of that food on my plate like I usually do. I do want to return and try their ribs when I’m back in the ferry.

While visiting North Carolina for the first time, Madison’s Prime Rib and Steak made a great first impression for Southern style cuisine. The atmosphere was quite homely, nothing like the upscale type buffet’s we have in So. Cal. But let me tell you, I tried almost everything on the buffet except the fat back stuff. The greens, fried fish, fried chicken, hush puppies, mac n cheese, banana pudding, coconut cake and whatever else I tried was so GOOD! The waitresses are so adorable and welcoming. I really like how they make you feel at home. It’s like a mom and pop style restaurant, so don’t expect fancy hanging lights, water fountains, expensive dining ware and fine wine. The food is better than what I was expecting. I can’t wait to get back there for summer… Yummy :-) …Omg, I almost forgot, my sweetie and I went back for the breakfast buffet. The best darn biscuit, gravy and chicken fried steak I’ve ever taste.
