The Sandwich Hut

i like their chicken/​sausage jumbalaya and the fried tilapia/​fries are good also.

The customer service (Lady behind the counter, that wears a towel around her head; which should be worn around her mouth). This woman has the most negative-​nasty attitude! I would not recommend this establishment to anyone! The food is not worth the headache to deal with the nasty attitude from this women when you are spending your money.

Ok. So, we went in, and as the gal behind the bar was on the phone, sat down to a table. Grabbed a menu, looked up at the menu board at the counter. After the lady got off the phone, she told us she’d get to us in a few minutes. And we waited, and we waited, and she asked if we had questions. My wife asked about one of the sandwiches, and the gal looked at my wife as if we were aliens. After getting the answer, she said she’d get our order in a moment. And we waited. And then the phone rang, and she picked up, and took a phone order. Unacceptable. We were in there, ready to spend money, and she picks up the phone to take a phone order. So, we left.
And here’s the thing, we really wanted to eat there! We’d been wanting to try it for some time, but couldn’t get together to go there. And then, we finally went, and that was our service. Ridiculous, and we won’t be back. Oh, well. Guess they didn’t need our business.

I’ve eaten here a few times and I have to say — I’ve been impressed each time.
I grew up on the river — and even factoring in the fried fish from my Mama’s kitchen — I’d have to say their fried fish is some of the best I ever had — which is certainly not what I was expecting from a ‘sandwich place.‘
The place is family owned — and the the staff is super friendly. I’m not a big «bread» person and their sandwiches are served on those HUGE french rolls — but the great thing about this place is if you talk to them — they’ll come up with a way to produce a meal that you will absolutely love. In my case, when I ordered the turkey & chees sub — they simply hollowed out the hoagie roll and added more meat and veggies.
With regards to prices — it’s simple — the prices simply cannot be beat. Most combos are in the $ 5 — $ 8 range and they include a drink and fries. The seafood dinners are a little pricier — but that’s to be expected.
If I HAD to voice a complaint — it would be that they don’t sell sweet tea. ..
Or any tea of any kind…
But they’re smart — I give ‘em a few weeks to realize that to succeed in the South — you gotta have sweet iced tea on the menu.

I am new to the area just moved from NJ. One of the best fish places I have EVER ate before. Friendly staff and I would recommend this place if your looking for great sandwiches at a great low price

!. Phone answering is def not their strongest, neither is the conversation once u do get them to answer…
2 Co-​worker ordered their fish sandwich… It was horrible the sandwich was literally a fish fillet and two slabs of bread that u make a PB&J sandwich.
3. I ordered the meatball sub. The meatballs were yellow, the sauce was spaghetti sauce, all mixed with the cheese they put the sandwich looked like it was regurgitated
Until these guys clean up a little bit I’d recommend eating else where…
