Days Inn & Suites Smyrna

I usually don’t write reviews, but I have to inform anyone that is considering to stay at this location. Truly, not any star!!! So soon as you check-​in, you see a sign «stating hotel is under renovation and plumbing isn’t working properly.» First, we was giving Room 303 with is located on the lobby level and one of the first rooms. I asked to move to another floor. Room 413 didn’t have any hot running water and the heat didn’t work. Back, to room 303 we go. When we got back to Room 303, I of course always check for bedbugs. No bedbugs found, but housekeeping is apparently not cleaning the rooms, because it was over 30 sheets of paper under the mattress and box spring that should’ve been discovered when changing the sheets and box spring cover. Next, we constantly heard something coming on the whole time we were sleep, I thought it was a generator, but NO our room was behind the elevator room and we keep hearing the controls for the elevator. I send my Sister for breakfast (fresh fruit) the next morning. She came back with a bagel. I don’t eat bagels, she said they only had coffee, bagels and cereal. I’m thinking, the internet stated breakfast, not continental breakfast. I went to the front desk to complain about breakfast and the manager stated that her food truck didn’t come this morning. At this point I call Hotwire to let them know that this hotel, is a MOTEL. It’s not a 3 ½ stars hotel as posted on their site. I could’ve stayed at a Motel Super 6. The internet doesn’t work, no breakfast, hotel is supposedly under renovation? I haven’t seen one worker, contractor, or piece of equipment on site!!! This hotel is ancient!!! It stinks like a nursing home here. We had to move our room again, this is the fourth time. Room 429, balcony door doesn’t even lock. Curtains have rips, chairs are dirty, holes in walls, cracks in tiled coving in bathroom, I almost slipped and fell in the shower because it wasn’t a non-​slip pad in the shower, smoke detect was just sitting on-​top of the heater not connected, the light didn’t work when entering the room. This place is a COMPLETE MESS!!! Whomever owns this place should be ashamed of themselves. I work in Public Health field, this place shouldn’t be able to pass an inspection, its not clean, safe or secure. Overnight, someone entered our room with a key card, luck for us I had the door safety on. I need to call the local Health and Building Department about how unsanitary this establishment is operating. I definitely wouldn’t recommend my dog staying here!!! I will contact Smyrna’s Health and Building Department and file a complaint. Hotwire did offer a full refund, but with this being Clark Atlanta University homecoming weekend and this hotel only begin 8 miles away, other hotels were booked and overpriced. But, trust and believe I would never stay at a Day Inn’s again after this experience.

The worst, most disgusting hotel I have ever seen. It is surreal how frightening this place is. It feels like I’m in an 80’s horror movie.
