Beth is no longer teaching riding at the Rock-C-Ranch, but is continuing her wonderful work at her own facility, Inspired Riding.

My sisters and I(ages 21,13,17,8) went out for our first lesson with Beth and Virginia in February of 2010. We started with a yoga lesson that focused on breathing and centering your body. The yoga was great for my oldest sister who had already taken a course in yoga in college and for the rest of us unexperienced with yoga(my youngest sister didn’t do the yoga). When it came to the horse back riding it was not so easy at first. Their horses are VERY well trained if you start to daze off and look in another direction the horse will start to walk in that direction. The yoga played a bigger part in the riding than I had imagined. Being aware of your whole body made it easier for the rider and horse to communicate. The horse back riding was great for all ranges of ages they have horses for every kind of rider and they teach you the fundamentals of riding with safety first!

Thanks in part to the amazing weather today I had the most awesome and inspiring experience at Rock-C-Ranch. They offer a 2 hour private Yoga and Horseback package that my awesome Sister’s hubby purchased for us. My Sis and I arrived at 10AM and spent an hour on the ground performing some breathing techniques and body movements that supposedly would help us achieve a deeper connection with ourselves that would extend to a deeper connection to our horse. Virginia talked a lot about«union of body, mind and spirit» blah blah… Personal note: we grew up on a horse ranch in East Texas and my sister is scared to death of horses. She grew up to be a Tennis playing Soccer Mom while I am the tomboy older sister who wanted to join the circus and do acrobats off the back of my Appaloosa Ginger and never grew up… So, today was about us both getting outside of our comfort zone. I have major ADD I can not focus and just relax — I need to be doing something constantly. So the hour of Yoga was not my cup of tea — all I could think about was becoming one with a horse under me galloping across the beautiful field in the glorious sun. 5 stars to the Ladies that offer Inspired Riding and something both me and my Sis could bond over!
