My husband and I just spent last weekend at 9E Ranch Cabins and had a wonderful time! I booked very short term and Joan, one of the owners, was very responsive on answering my questions by email. Upon arriving at our cabin(the Lone Star) we knew we would be happy. There was a great private yard for our cabin, a porch with two rockers and I think I actually squealed when we opened the door. The cabin had everything we could want. It does have a full bed downstairs and two beds up in a loft but as the mother of two kids I know I might feel a little too cramped in this particular cabin with our whole family. It was perfect for a couple. Their other cabins are much better for families. The cabin has a full bathroom(shower no tub) and a full kitchen. They do stock the bathroom with everything you might need except I didn’t see a hairdryer. There isn’t a TV in the cabin which is nice for detoxing from all electronics in the city! My husband and I did bring a laptop with a DVD and watched a movie at night. It was great to turn all the lights off and lay in the bed with the computer propped up on a box. Totally cozy and dark! There are plenty of blankets and pillows and heat, ceiling fan and air conditioning in the cabin so you are comfortable regardless of the season. The coffee is great while waking up in the rockers on the front porch, then playing domino’s or cards in the afternoon and star gazing at night. The stars are amazing! The owners allow you to walk all over the property and go through closed gates with the exception of the horse area(very small area compared to the other 300 acres you can walk around). They have BEAUTIFUL Longhorns(never thought I’d say a cow was beautiful) and we had the pleasure of talking to them up close and then watching them get a roll of hay while Kent, another owner welcomed us and shared stories. There are two ponds on the property, miniature donkeys and horses, and a couple of cats that love the attention if you want to give them any. During the day we went to Smithville one day and Bastrop the next. Both are great for antique shopping and the history. If you are looking for a cabin experience removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, like walking outdoors, can appreciate sunsets and starry skies, then you’ll want to stay here. It felt like staying with family and we will be back!

9E Ranch Bed and Breakfast is on a 300 acre ranch with private intimate cabins for a great get away. Visit the longhorns, horses, miniature donkeys; listen to wind in the huge pine woods; lots of hiking space. This is a peaceful place and a great breakfast basket is delivered to your cabin.
