Empire Ginger

I would give 5 stars if it wasn’t for the long wait! To be honest though, it’s worth the wait! I recently discovered the roast pork and shrimp dumpling noodle soup (with thin Cantonese egg noodles) and it is incredibly delicous, hearty and satisfying on a cold winter night! I’ve been getting it at least once a week. I also love the bbq spare ribs from here. Any dumpling, spring roll and the pad Thai is also good (not the same as getting from an authentic pad Thai place but, still good). My boyfriend gets the plain typical dishes like chicken and broccoli or string beans and seems to like it as well.
The delivery and pick up does take longer than average but that’s because it’s very popular, they have a ton of regulars and are always busy. Try the dumpling soup, you will love it!
Update: just got my delivery very fast which is awesome and bonus, for whatever reason I had a free dish in the bag that I didn’t order. it was delicous thin noodles with steak, shrimp, eggs and veggies! On the down side, my boyfriend was NOT happy with his chicken. He’s very picky though and refused to try anything else so that’s on him! Get Empire Ginger it’s awesome!

I was incredibly pleased they had a young American girl taking the orders. It was easy to communicate and she answered all of the questions I had, I can be extremely picky so I was very happy! I haven’t eaten the food yet so I’ll report back.

I absolutely love the food here. They now have Chinese and Japanese food! The portions are huge and you’re always getting more than you paid for. Food is delicious and is always ready quickly. I don’t order from anywhere else.
They also have a great customer loyalty program once you spend $ 100 you get a meal free. $ 100 seems like a lot but $ 10 here and $ 15 there adds up and the card doesn’t expire. It’s nice to be appreciated!

Always excellent choices that are delicious. Take out is prompt and hot. Still steaming actually. Our only Chinese take out. Also the staff is kind and warm.

The Chinese food is very good. Chicken satay, pan friend dumplings and the chicken dumpling soup are some of my favorites while my mother orders the pineapple shrimp dinner every time. The one negative is the service especially Thursday-​Sunday. They take way too long especially on deliveries while sometimes mistakes in the order. With all being said I believe they’re the best Chinese takeout in smithtown area especially after original jade garden went out of business

The food is usually very good and service is okay. I recently decided to order Pad Thai and it was the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had. very disappointed!

Kinda upset me I place my order at 7pm walked in at 730 and my food wasn’t taken down. Had to wait another 10mins for my food.

Horrible service. Took more than 2 hours for delivery. After 1 hour was told 10 minutes. After 2 hours was told 2 minutes. No apologies. Too many choices to be choosing this place.

Should have listened to Annmarie! Took an hour and a half for delivery and when he got here no apology or nothing! Order was wrong and the sauce for the egg foo young had spilled all over the bag! Will never order from this place again.

At 7:15 I ordered two large wanton soups and a boneless rib combination for delivery and they took an hour and a half to get to my house that’s two minutes away!
Once we received the food; the bag looked like it was dropped and shaken, our order was wrong and the food was cold and pretty bad! Wantons were under cooked and the boneless ribs were burnt it was absolutely horrible and very disappointing.
When we called to complain the customer service was appalling when we hung up they called back and tried to argue that they were right and then proceeded to hang up on us.
I will not be going back even if you paid me!

Been a customer for years tonight that ended. Was served a scallion pancake so over fried and clearly destroyed I did bother trying to get my dog to take a piece. Seafood noodle dish bland with calamari that came off a Goodyear tire. Will never eat here again quality control obviously went to crap. Sad.

Totally great Chinese food! Chicken and broccoli is really good. So are the lo meins and soups!

Just ordered lunch at 12:30. It took until after 2:00!!!’ To arrive. After I called twice, the driver had no explanation nor did the person on the phone. The Pad Thai had NO flavor and the soup was cold and very small. Would not recommend

One thing to say about empire ginger is that they have been consistently good. Last night we had the usual American Chinese fair, wonton soup, shrimp rolls, pork foo young and the most delicious shrimp chow fun! All was hot fresh tasting and delicious. The serving sizes were huge too. Maybe we were lucky but ordered and picked it up in 15 minutes, no wait at all and I really have never waited long in the many times I have visited. I say if you are in this area and love Chinese, it’s a great place to go for take out.

As far as «american» Chinese take out joints go, this is one of the better ones in the Smithtown area. The menu is standard, with quality ingredients. It’s usually busy, so if they tell you 10 minutes on the phone, add about 45 to it, usually you are standing around waiting for your order with a number of other people for an hour. At least you make some friends through the frustration.

Great food, fresh! Try the sesame shrimp, delish. Egg foo young is very good. Nice Friendly people

This is my favorite «Americanized» Chinese food take-​out from Coram to Commack.
Their menu is the typical take-​out choices, but with some additions — as well as a «spend $ 20 and get a free order of cheese filled fried wontons»! They do everything I like best about other take-​out places: dark broth in the wonton soup, saffron fried rice (that’s yellow, not brown), small pieces of chicken in their General Tso’s, and FRESH homemade noodles!
