Tj Maxx

This is a smaller TjMaxx but it has a variety of things. They have purses, jewelry, hair products, shoes, lingerie, home, kids, men’s and women’s clothing. A little bit of everything.
I really enjoy all the clearance sections they have a lot on clearance always and every here and there you find good deals on great products. The best part of all these stores is that they carry name brand clothing for cheap prices.
Always providing a variety of name brands and designs in all clothing areas. Since this is a smaller store they don’t have a huge selection but it’s big enough for a variety.
The home section always sucks me in, I love what they have the section always gives me ideas on how to design my home. I stay basically in this isle the most, and of course women clothing.
Check this location out. You will enjoy it. I’m only giving it 4 stars because of how small it is, but it’s always so clean which I enjoy.

Let me begin by saying that I’ve been shopping at this location for years. I’m not sure why I keep coming back because I typically walk out empty handed. The selections are just not great at all. On top of the poor selection, I’ve been noticing more and more that the staff is just as poor as the selection. I just made a return at this location (of an item purchased at a different location because it didn’t fit right) and I didn’t even get a hello or a how are you from the cashier (Teri S.). The only words she spoke were «do you have your master card»? I replied yes — she says it ends in «****». I said yes again. She then did the refund, printed the slip, and Said «sign top line». I signed and said thank you to which she did not reply. I will not be back to this location. I’ve worked in retail and the restaurant industry in the past… I wouldn’t never not greet a customer nor would I never not thank them for their business. I cannot believe how unfriendly this woman was. Completely done with this store.

I was writing this review on my way to TJMAXX and my review would have been a 3 however I am dropping this down to a 1 due to the staff at this store. Let me explain further…
I absolutely LOVE TJMAXX and I spend a minimum of $ 10,000 yearly here. I am a repeat customer and have formed ZERO relationships with the staff here aside from a woman at the JEWELRY counter. I would give customer service a –5 at this location. I have been to all of the TJMAXX franchise stores in the state of RI and the stores in MASS are ran completely different. The sales staff, customer service and management teams are excellent in these stores. The Warwick, RI store is also 95% better than the Smithfield location.
The sales stuff always gives me issues at this location. Management is never to be found. Their are rarely people staffed at the jewelry area at all and last night I asked management a specific question about a potential product and they stated that they did not carry this item, but to my surprise I was able to find a comparable item and the manager did not suggest offer or recommend this similar product. It’s almost as if the employees and management are so lackadaisical and do not CARE whatsoever about this store.
There was also a white blouse I wanted to purchase that was made of a silky material and had a VISIBLE hole in the very front. Working at Nordstrom’s alteration department– allowed me to asses that the blouse is ultimately inable to be sewn/​fixed in any way. Let me also discuss that the blouse was WHITE and had SEVERAL visible stains. Why my interest in a ripped and stained shirt? I work at a bar where shirts have a short half life & basically expect it to deteriorate rather quickly– so to me why wouldn’t they want to sell a shirt that would most likely end up in a damaged bin???
As a repeat customer I asked if there was anything they could do with the price. The shirt was $ 20 and the «manager» (whom had no name tag or any indication she was even an employee) decided she could take $ 5 off-​which I felt was ridiculous. The staff (which has an abnormally high turnover rate would barely consider my request let alone accommodate my request; they could have taken $ 8 off and I would have been happy… However they wouldn’t budge. The blouse was worth $ 5 – 10 $ TOPPS and I don’t know many who would purchase a defective blouse. Loss of sales right there.
Another issue is that this store is a disaster! Finding things is close to impossible in every section. I often find shoes in the wrong size, clothes in the wrong section and a variety of misplaced items. This store needs a complete face lift and employee/​management overhaul!
The icing on the cake was their refusal to allow me to purchase ($ 300 worth of products without having identification). Mind you I have NEVER been asked for identification at this location! Only when returning items. ALSO SINCE WHEN DOES A DEBIT CARD REQUIRE a license present??? The PIN number is the verification! Not to mention as a serious repeat customer they know who I am as I shopped here almost DAILY and did not allow me to complete my transaction. Although the clerk was nice she did not want to hear it.
After my experience last night– I will NEVER EVER return to this location which is a shame because it’s location is close to my house and convenient but because I love the merchandise I will continue to shop at TJMAXX in Warwick, RI…

If you have the time to search through everything on a rack you are sure to find some great deals and cute stuff. Unfortunately I have to try on 20 things to find 3 i like, but that is not the fault of TJMaxx!

So I generally like TJ Maxx I do like this location as its not as crowded as others but as another reviewer mentioned it tends to look like a natural disaster just hit. I usually shop the home wares section. To be completely honest, I prefer Marshall’s at the Lincoln mall, its kept much cleaner even though they have a higher volume of folks.

The place to go if you need something to wear «tonight» at a good price. Good for men, although some of the staff will act as if you don’t exist. But still, the price is right for decent clothes.
