I come to Maine every summer to visit relatives. We make multiple trips to this place. This summer we only made two trips to this establishment. First trip– we came around 745pm on a Saturday. A young man took our order. A small bbq chicken pizza WITHOUT onions. A bacon turkey sandwich with chips and 3 cans of softdrinks it came out to around 28 dollars. After 20 mins our food came, the bacon turkey sandwich was delicious. The pizza however had onions on it, and was poorly sliced. I didn’t want the trouble so we just ate it with the onions. Even without the onions the pizza was not very good. I decided to order 2 small ice creams in dishes to go. I made it very clear to the young man that the ice creams were to go and needed to have lids. The ice creams came out without lids and spoons in them. I requested lids and we left. I think the issue here is communication between the person taking the order and the people making it. Second trip– we came on a Sunday at noonish after a hike. We ordered multiple ice creams. They were quick with the orders and correct. I personally had the vanilla ice cream sundae with Peanut butter sauce, nuts, and whip cream. The best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life by far. I noticed there were older ppl helping with orders in the back and I expect that they contributed to getting our orders perfectly and quickly. Overall thoughts– Besides the miscommunication from the first trip, the 2nd trip makes up for it. It is a very clean establishment with a big area in the back to enjoy your meal. Great for families. I will continue coming back.

We come up from NC every summer and this is our go-to place for ice cream and shakes. I’m partial to the fluffer nutter shake, but everything I’ve tried has been great. Lobster rolls are a solid choice if you’re looking for a meal. Pizzas are very good, as well.

Our first vacation in Maine and we were thrilled to find this gem. The food is delicious. I especially loved the Lobster Trap Club– a lobster roll and BLT combo that was quintessentially Maine and absolutely delicious. My family also enjoyed the ice cream and pizza. We plan on visiting every summer we cottage at the lake.

Food was good, but we were a bit surprised that the sandwich wraps didn’t come with any chips or other sides, especially for an $ 8 wrap. The pizza was really good and the ice cream is always top notch, but just couldn’t give it a perfect rating. Customer service was great too all were friendly!

Everything is good — not just the ice cream! I particularly suggest their special menu items — their lobster sandwich in particular!

Decent lobster rolls and t good take-home chicken pies. They bake banana bread and apple bread too, take some home for breakfast, the banana bread is especially good toasted. . The ice cream is from North Street Dairy in Waterville so it’s GOOD. They also have soft serve, shakes, blizzards, sundaes etc. Italian Sandwiches and subs are average, we haven’t tried their pizza yet but I’m sure it’s the best around since there isn’t much other food in Smithfield! I wish they stayed open until 10pm in the summer, at least on Saturday night. Nice friendly service, and pretty fast unless they are really busy. They have a great area out in the back with picnic tables, and a nice gazebo with more tables overlooking a brook and nicely manicured lawns. Very clean! Smithfield is lucky to finally have a place to take the family for a treat. They almost called it quits this year but decided to open, much to the delight of the summer-campers in the area.
