So it’s been three years since we darkened the doors of Ruby Tuesday’s after two mediocre meals. This was a week night this time and they were over staffed but we were under serviced. But when we left, there were 3 employees at the exit telling us to have a good night and holding the doors open. They would have been more useful helping out with the waitstaff. Food was good but with all the new restaurants at this exit off the interstate they should have their act together for repeat business.

Salad bar was terrible. All the lettuce type options were wilted or brown. Veggies were no better. The broccoli and cheese soup was also a terrible disappointment. Service was okay. I would advise checking the salad bar freshness it you are coming for that reason.

Poor service. Apart from the salad bar, nothing’s fresh. The salad bar has very limited options. And the sauces aren’t made in house.

For starters didn’t like the smell just coming in. Smells like dirty carpet and old food. Then while we waited I noticed the dirty chair rungs dirty windowsills. The petite steak was good but the rice pilaf and broccoli was microwaved and dried out. Then we got charged for a beer we didn’t get.

Terrible service I was waiting at the salad bar and I had to wait for dressing. Waitress was AWFUL She did not listen to what we asked My husband got his soup as I watched and waited for my soup to come out. We waited for our food so long we had to ask the manager to intervene because when we finally got our order it was wrong. Lots of other options in the area choose another. In all fairness the manager was very nice and made sure pur order was correct.

Food is always good. Just don’t order the appetizer sampler nothing tastes right on it. Ordered on two different occasions with same gross taste. The salad bar is not that fresh but i love their pasta. I recommend the shrimp pasta that has tomatoes on top, or chicken parmesan pasta

Just tried Ruby Tuesdays for the first time in many years. No high hopes. Even so very disappointing. Ordered the beer special and paid more than is normally charged at similar establishments. The beer was cold, so one good thing. Ordered a couple of appetizers. Very small portions for not so small prices. The food was terrible. Clearly out if the freezer and into the fryer. Sauces with off flavors and left a healthy film of grease on the fingers. Service was ok at best. Overall rating — yuck!!!

Place seems a bit dirty. They did keep the salad bar clean and we liked the fact that they have healthy options with posted calorie count. I gave a lower rating because they got the order for Brussels sprouts incorrect. We both ordered grilled and they brought one baked.

No one is surprised that this place is not great, I’m sure. This one is slightly more inept than most. Broccoli was over cooked. Onion rings were ok. The steak was good but the mushroom topping inedibly salty. The waitress was very new, I hope.

I want to give this restaurant more stars… I really want to but I really cannot do so at this time. For starters, our waiter was the worst waiter I have seen in a long time. Dustin was slow, forgetful, and unhelpful. He was very quick to take our orders but slow on everything else. I got one refill on my water AFTER I WASFINISHEDMYMEALANDHEHADBROUGHTUSOURCHECK!!! We also asked for more chips for our appetizer(the menu listed them as bottomless) but never received the chips even though we were told that the chips would be right out of the oven. When we were seated, Dustin forgot our silverware and would have completely forgotten if we had not told him. He said to the ladies at the table behind us, «your food will be right out» and they had to remind them that they ordered the garden bar and that they were finished with their food already. Now on to the food I did receive… The Chicken BLT was pink and undercooked and the fries were soggy. I get the Chicken BLT every time I go to any Ruby Tuesday and have never had any problems until now. One concern about this restaurant that I noticed was the white tile floor that runs through the entryway and garden bar of the restaurant was really slippery. Don’t bring your grandmother with her walker here unless you dislike her and want her to fall. There has to be a better way for the floor to be cleaned. The menus of the restaurant were falling apart, sticky, and just an all around disaster. They need to be replaced ASAP. The manager of the restaurant was very nice and came to check on is during our visit but she did not wait on us so I will not talk about her. I think that Dustin was just easily distracted like a cat with a ball of yarn. That’s probably something he needs to work on if he wants to continue working in the restaurant industry. All in all, I’d say that if you are in the mood for Ruby Tuesday, it is worth the 30 minute drive to the one in Wilson or the 45 minute drive to the one on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh. I have eaten at both of these restaurants recently and always had good food met with fast and efficient service.

Haley E. was our bartender…(she had an attitude…) She was selective on who she waited on! Haley, had a chip on her shoulder… as she was over worked and didn’t really care about out of town people. For the life of me… I can’t understand why a restaurant would all allow crying babies at the bar…(Jesus why would you set families, with babies, at the bar instead of other places in the restaurant!!!) I ask the manager if he was aware of the rating for his restaurant… 2 ½ stars, And he said yes… Quote… «But what do you expect from a bunch of «Drunks!» Sorry I’m from Atlanta, GA! I Prefer the phase… Sobriety challenged more than a «Drunk»!
Lowest restaurant rating in Smithfield, NC… «I wonder why?» I’m sure the restaurant will close soon… And the management and employees will wonder why???(Sad place… Stay away!)

Stopped for lunch on the way to OBX. Had turkey burger and fries and small order of Chicken Fresco with zucchini. Service was polite and fast. Food came hot and was good, as is our usual experience at other Ruby Tuesday locations. Looking at the Unilocal reviews for various chain restaurants at this exit, we were worried about getting a below standard meal and experience. Shouldn’t have worried. With emailed coupon, was also a very economical meal, too. Our server Renee got a very good tip, based on the original subtotal, before the coupon.

Some chains are always the same to me, new menu items taste like old menu items. We were in need of some road grub on our travels and this exit had what every exit along I95 seems to have, a Ruby Tuesday. In the late eighties and through the 90’s, any Ruby Tuesday would have garnered a 5 star rating from me. Back then they had the best Cajun catfish on earth, and other great items that were not boil in bag or microwaved. Today though, they are just like every other chain, plus salad bar. Now the only fish, besides an overpriced, undersized Salmon portion, is Tilapia, aka«Herpes with fins»(Thanks Kenneth D.). This cheap(mostly Chinese farmed) trash fish continues to spread across the nations restaurants who found how cheap a fish that can live in stagnant water is, along with the über high profit margin to be made. Finally, my reason for the low rating. Upon entering I went straight to the restroom to wash up and there was no soap in the men’s room. I washed vigorously with hot water and used hand sanitizer as a chaser. As soon as I walked outside of the facilities I told the hostess there is no soap and how it always concerns me when there is no soap in a restaurant bathroom with signs stating«employees must wash hands…» She acknowledged my concern and I sat down to some decent chain food. After we finished our meal I went back into the bathroom to find(cue suspense music) there still was no soap.

We just stopped in for dinner during our trip down to Florida. The hostess was very pleasant. Our server, Nichole H., was also very friendly and took great care of us. The Hickory Bourbon Salmon with spaghetti squash were delicious. The Asiago Peppercorn Sirloin was cooked perfectly. We would definitely visit again if ever passing through North Carolina!

Seated right away then sat here for 15 minutes while Nicole was at the bar shootin the shit with another employee then FINALLY came over. The place was just about empty checked on my wife and I once while she continued to bs with other employees we sat with empty waters while we ate our food, and now we’ve been sitting here for 20 minutes waiting for our bill… and my wife who is a bartender/server cannot believe the horrible service we are receiving.

When we walked inside the restaurant there was no one there to greet us. There were several employees that walked past us that said nothing. Finally a manager greeted us while the hostess slowly walked over and at that point she still did not speak. Our waitress kept calling us «Hunny» which I thought was very offensive. The food was good but the service could use some help.

We got seated almost immediately however there were not enough seats at our table(we had 7 in our party, only 6 seats). We waited for 2 minutes until we stole an extra chair from an unused table. The food was delicious, nothing wrong there! Also,(the BIG one) the waitress(can’t remember name) was very miserable and overall rude. She only came to the table to refill the drinks 7 times. (we were passing through, first time eating there)

This is literally the best restaurant to eat at in Smithfield. I enjoyed everything on their menu. When OutBack and Applebees let’s you down, this is where to go. I always go here for dinner, and for work meeting.

2.7 Stars Came here for a late lunch after movies(Smithfield Cinema). Wasn’t expecting to be impressed, but I wasn’t expecting to be totally let down either. This east coast American casual dining chain in general is above mediocre but not exactly good(if you know what I mean). So basically we arrive I think maybe at about almost 3 ish. The host puts us in a table that isn’t so comfy so we ask for a booth. He says ok but he doesn’t really seem to care. We then are served. The rest of the service & the food was fine. We we served by a young gal with a very thick eastern accent who was somewhat alright at accommodating us. I had soup which was ok(as seen in the pic), salad which was below & and I tried a bite of one of my party’s chicken wings(as seen in picture) which was good. Other comments I have is that there are two sides to the restaurant. The better looking was on the right side and the crappy looking one(which we were seated in) was on the left behind the bar. The salad bar was unorganized and messy. Might be back.
