Holiday Inn Express & Suites Smithfield – Selma I-95

Traveling down 95, no reservations, was able to come in at 10pm and get a room right away. Clean, clean, clean! Comfortable bed, soft towels, clean environment, pleasant staff, fresh coffee and continental breakfast. Not sure if it’s because I drove 600 miles straight, but this is for sure one of the better experiences at a hotel I’ve ever had.

This is not a place for business travelers. The ceiling is paper thin. Lucky for me the person above me only got up every hr to do who know what overnight. And it wasn’t as they were stomping just walking. Then they didn’t have a desk in the room. It was like college all over again with all my papers and laptop on the bed.
For the price I would expect more. I would only stay here again In an emergency situation.

Great location off of I-​95. Hotel appearance is very clean and modern. Unfortunately, it’s very noisy due to the floors being made of wood and not concrete. This is a big minus and not something typically found in a Holiday Inn Express. If you stay here be sure to get a room on the top floor. The room didn’t have a desk — just a small round table with two chairs.
Tip: Road to hotel may not be on your GPS. It can be tricky to find at night.

I have stayed at holiday InN Expresses and 90% of the time they are awesome. Maybe just a bad perfect storm this evening.
Someone burned a biscuit in the microwave after we had gone to bed. I think it was the front desk attendant. The construction has cheeping up so much that we could hear the person on the floor above us walk across the floor. No I don’t mean stomping her trooping are bouncing a ball I mean simply walking, maybe heavy footed a little bit but really? The person was walking around until past midnight. Couldn’t hardly go to sleep that and the alarm disturbance.
It appeared to be a fairly new hotel but lots of things seem off like the mold in the shower. The broken lock on the door.
Other than that it was the typical holiday in express I would recommend that if you stay here pick the top floor.

This was a great choice for the night. Brand new and super clean. I was pleasantly surprised at how huge the room was, with a couch and everything. Not to mention the bed was extremely comfortable. The continental breakfast had many more choices than a normal continental. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay for the night.

Very nice hotel and a great price. Traveling down 95 and stopped in without reservations. No problem. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was good. I loved the room. Very clean. Would definitely stay there again.

As far as Holiday Inns go, this one was pretty good. Fairly new and in great shape — clean as a whistle, and probably the best value in the area of Smithfield. Breakfast is meh, but they had «eggs» (weird egg-​white disk thingies) and bacon, so it was passable. Close to a lot of restaurants and shops, a movie theater, and Walmart is about 5 minutes away in case you are there for a wedding and need to stop there and buy a slip (not that I had to do that or anything). My only complaint is that the toilet paper rolls are SO FAR from the actual toilet. Maybe TMI, but it was kind of annoying. Otherwise, completely adequate.
