Staying in town for 2 weeks on business and I heard this place had a salad bar. It does. It’s ok. After grabbing my salad, I grabbed some grapes, a small loaf of bread from the bakery, and some butter. At the check out line, I was asked if I had a Giant Eagle card and I politely told the cashier that I was from out of town and did not have one. A kind gentlemen behind me then said that I could use his card if I would like and the cashier loudly snapped back, «NO! We don’t do that here! There’s no sharing of cards!» I was mortified. Everyone in the store was staring in our direction. I don’t know what’s so special about those cards, but I’ve never been to a store where they at least wouldn’t scan the generic store card for you. With that being said, my salad, grapes, bread, and butter totaled $ 18.00. Not only is this place expensive, they are rude and don’t care whether they publicly embarrass you. I will never return.
