The Slinger House Pub & Grille

I enjoy the ultimate Bloody Mary. However I do not enjoy the «seasonality» of the drink. I stop here often on Sunday’s and feel slighted when they have the drink one week and are not serving the next week. I’d appreciate better communication on their highly regarded bloodies. However this is my only complaint, food and service is good!

I was visiting Slinger over the Holiday weekend. My Mother-​in-​law raved about the Slinger House and how good the food and bloody marys were. First impression, it was very busy, but the host seated us immediately. That was the only good part of my experience
It took a few minutes to get our beverage orders in, but with it being as busy as it was, I totally understood that. We ordered our drinks and that is when I ordered a gin and tonic and a glass of water. We received our drink orders. Both my wife and Mother-​in-​Law ordered bloody marys and said they tasted off. My gin and tonic seemed to be missing any gin at all. I should have sent it back, but I did not want to get a glass of gin and spit as the server was quite rude. My water never arrived.
On to the food part of the evening. My wife had a couple of questions about the menu, as it was one of the worst menus of all time. The entrees and burgers had about a line each and were not very descriptive at all. The server rolled her eyes and answered my wife’s questions. This was our first time in the place and she should have been a little more friendly. My bacon cheeseburger was supposed to come on a pretzel roll, I had asked for that, and my choice of cheese. I was not offered any cheese choices at all. And she never once wrote anything down. I again requested a glass of water to go with my glass of Tonic, Maybe she thought that the Tonic, minus the gin was good enough?
Food came, my burger was not on a pretzel roll, strike one, and it had no lettuce, onion, or tomato. Most places at least offer that. It was a burger, cheese, 2 small slices of bacon and a brioche bun. My wife’s steak sandwich was literally a hunk of grizzle minus any sort of seasoning and no sauce. She requested some bleu cheese dressing, again, got the eye roll and was brought some sour cream with a chunk or two of something in it.
What really set me off, as if that was not enough, was the fact that a party of 4 came in and they were told that the server was busy with a larger party and that they would have to wait??? No, that is not how you handle that. You seat them, and have another member of the wait staff or the manager take care of them until their server is finished and can help them out. What that did was let them know that they were not as important as the large party. I will not frequent that place ever again. I tried to check the website so I could pass this along to the owner or GM, but there was no place to leave comments or an info box. Hopefully they read this.
One final note, as soon as the food came, we did not see our server again for refills, I think that we were not as important as the large party either. I have had better experiences at McDonalds and that is sad.

Party of 4: very disappointed! Had really long waits during our lunch meal after the lunch rush! Place was ¹⁄₃ full, 5 or 6 waitresses, 12 minutes before we got water w/​o order taken. Food was overpriced &, consequently, delayed in getting to our table. She, rarely, checked in on us. Food quality is average & only found ourselves paying for their new restoration. We heard great things, but not worth the trip.

All was well until a nasty, black hair was found in between the cheese and hamburger meat. My stomach is turning. Cook apologized about it. Waitress came over loudly and said you were the ones with hair in the food??? Yeah don’t remind me.

The best place to go to in Slinger. Beautiful décor, excellent service, fantastic food (never pass up a special)

Went to Slinger House for the first time last night with my daughter’s family. We were very impressed. Service was friendly and efficient. Menu had traditional fish frys and burgers but also had shrimp, salmon, chicken, sandwiches and salads. We had tortilla chips with 3 different dips and salsas for an appetizer which came in generous portions and tasted great. The entres were just as good with generous portions as well. Entres had a choice of sides, the veggies were excellent and fries were good too. The grilled salmon was a favorite but the caldo camerones and perch fish fry were delicious as well. We will definitely be back!

Best place in Slinger to eat in my opinion. Everything I’ve tried there has been delicious and top quality. The chef is always introducing new dishes on special. Service is quick and waitstaff always friendly.

Ordered a guinnes… It was made wrong obviously. So i asked the bar tender if she knew how to pour a Guinness and that i could show her. I literally had 2 seconds of convo and she handed my card back and left me for an hour. Only two people at the bar… Two people and i had an empty for 30 mins before i left. She was a brunette with red dye hair. I never had the chance to tip because i guess my card is open all night. Worst bar ever!

My husband and I took my elderly father to the Slinger House Saturday early evening. They were very accommodating, placing us at a table that was easy to get in and out of. The food was fantastic! We all shared a Cobb salad that was extremely fresh with a very tasty dressing. I loved the «build your own mac and cheese” — it was also large enough to share. The patty melt was the best we have ever had! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxed, clean atmosphere with reasonable prices and nice service.

Wonderful, thick pub burger and waffle fries. It will satisfy anyone’s authentic juicy burger craving.

Nice little gem in downtown Slinger. Nice atmosphere for a bar style place. Very good food. Only knock is on busy nights the service can be a little slow.

When I am in WI, I have to have a Friday Fish Fry. Recommended by a friend’s uncle we went to the Slinger House. The atmosphere was cozy and there was no wait at all, but it was Memorial Day weekend.
I had the perch, my friend had the walleye, we split them between the two of us and we were both very impressed by the fish and all of the items that accomPanied the traditional WI fish fry. The fish was so good and the potato pancakes were a MUST ORDER. There is not one bad thing I can say. They serve up excellent sweet whiskey old fashioneds, in short and TALL– pint glass sizes.
Great, friendly service and the best fish fry I have ever had equals a well deserved 5 stars in my book.

Slinger House is our go-​to location. This is also our favorite burger place. Black and bleu burger is amazing! (and I am not even a fan of bleu cheese). Garlic burger is great. My suggestion is to eat these burgers as they were intended, do not ruin them with veggies or condiments. Fries are a slight add on to the meal, as the meals come with homemade chips. Go with the chips they’re really good. Everything I’ve had here is good. You really can’t go wrong. Sometimes there is a wait, but what do you expect — It has great food, great beer, and great atmosphere. You may have to wait for that, and it’s worth it.

4.5 stars is more like it. Expectations have a lot to do with it. I’ve been there twice, not expecting a steakhouse experience, just bar food. And I’ve been very happy both times. Today it was a grilled chicken sandwich with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. I also said «no thanks» to the potato chips, and got the waffle fries instead. If I’m going out, I’m eating the deep fried food that stinks up someone else’s kitchen! Food was excellent, service very good. Love the interior. I guess most folks like it, it was pretty busy at 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon.

Can’t keep up on Friday nights. Long wait to sit, then another long wait to order, then another long wait for food. Won’t be back.

Great selection menu. Remodel the entire inside, added outdoor deck. I have been there several times and it started out rough. However, the last several months i have had no complaints. Friday night fish fry is great. Hamburgers are plenty big. Average pricing. Management and staff are friendly and accommodating. I think the one star view is not the norm or a competitor bashing competition. The crowds speak for them selves!
