Grew up shopping at Winn-Dixie before Walmart took over the world. This is a nice clean store with friendly employees and clean bathrooms. Wasn’t too busy. Interesting to note that, as of January 7, 2015 there will be a Walmart Neighborhood Market right next door. That’s heavy competition literally a stone’s throw away.

I moved to Slidell in summer of 2013 and this quickly became my «local» grocery store. The prices are reasonable, though a bit higher than the Walmart a few miles away(though you don’t have to deal with the many issues related going to Walmart either). Its at a convenient intersection, but sometimes turning left out of the parking lot can be troublesome(more to do with the local drivers apparent hatred of turn signals). The store is laid out well and they generally have a good selection of everything(and the shelves are well-stocked). I’ve found the produce to be fresh and the deli has good, quick meals. The store also has two very personable stock people who are quick to say hello when retrieving carts outside.

As far a grocery stores go, I’m all about Rouses. I try and shop there whenever possible, but occasionally I’ll find myself on the other side of town in need of a few groceries and I really do enjoy this Winn Dixie. They completely remodeled the store a few years ago and it’s so nice inside now, it feels more like a Whole Foods now than a Winn Dixie. They have an enormous salad bar which always looks fresh and tasty. The deli department is amazing with so many delicious prepackaged heathy options for lunch, like hummus and fresh veggies and fruit. The seafood counter is extensive and there are lots of local and fresh catches that you can get here and prepare at home. I especially like the packaged crab salad paired with Ritz crackers. Yum! The produce department is also really great and the fruits and veggies here are gleaming they are so clean and they’re always fresh and juicy and delicious. If you’re in the area in need of groceries this Winn Dixie is a great place to go.

Loved the look after the renovation and everything was fresh, unfortunately the high standards are slipping a little. I was looking for beets and when I found them I read the discription below which said select firm beets, there was no chance of that as all were very soft. A young man who worked in the produce department asked me if I was finding everything and I mentioned the beets and he shrugged his shoulders! That said it is a great place to shop and so nice to be able to purchase Naan breads locally. This is one of my favorite stores to shop in

Overall this place is good. They just had a revamp so it’s a bit bigger and you have more space. The fruit here stays fresher than fruit purchased down the street. I’m still upset that they didnt give me my watermelon. I paid for it, the boy packed it and handed me my bags. When I got home no watermelon was to be found. $ 5 wasted so lesson is to pack your own groceries! Bye bye watermelon!
