Was here for a NASA visit to the area and usually stay in NOLA… but needed up in Slidell at hotel and digitally we brought in chose the Outback. Now, I don’t have anything against Outback and used to eat a lot back in the day, BUT — with all the good food in NOLA I was a bit bummed… BUT — this place did a great, greta job taking care of our group and special guest. Manager came by often to make sure we were being treated well. She comped us a blooming Onion! And best of all — my steak was perfect and tremendous NY Strip. Everyone left here very happy and with a new impression of Outback. Enjoyed it and will come back again!

This place(this particular location) total trash food. I’ve had a better Outback meal at the one in Mandeville after Katrina, which had NOWINDOWS, construction lighting & closed when the sun went down… this place though, garbage. From service to food. If you don’t have tartar sauce then say so. Don’t mix a fuckn slop of mayo & mustard in bowl, slopped all over the whole bowl. Disgusting looking & gross. The manager seemed too busy apologizing to other patrons for such terrible food & service. She happend to notice the shit look on my face & proceeded to approach. She asked how everything was, I said HORRIBLE. She then looks at the«tartar sauce» & w/a disgusted look on her face asked«whats that?» I laughed & said this sloppy bowl of shit was brought by your waitress as «tartar sauce». The look on her face? Priceless & disgusted… she offered a discount & gift cards, i turned them both down & walked out… needless to say, she felt stupid. Sorry but this location is garbage & their frozen food isn’t worth the price. If Outback is your favorite place, then i feel sorry for you… cook a better steak at home

The joys of traveling from New Orleans to Biloxi MS is that there really aren’t many option on the highway to stop an eat so you just have to go with an old favorite. People knock it, but I love Outback. I like their steaks. Yes, it’s not Morton’s, but for a $ 19.99 steak– I like it. We were immediately sat and then moments later were greeted by our server Jonathan. Jonathan was great. He made sure our meals were delivered promptly, our drinks were never empty and answered every single question. My sirloin was cooked exactly to my liking(which is medium). It was juicy and tender. I ordered a side salad which could have used more dressing and broccoli and cheese which were great. I thought the bread was a little stale but it was overall I can’t complain about that when everything else was pretty great.

We ordered the 6oz filet mignon and it was over seasoned and tough. I would not order steak here again unless you like cheap fixes.

Walked in, had to wait about 5 minutes for the hostess to even come to the front to have us seated. We requested a booth since there was hardly anyone in the place, but the hostess said it would be a longer wait yet there were a ton of empty booths(all clean and ready to be used). Didn’t quite understand that. Our waiter was very nice, but not a very good server at all. My burger came without the side of fries which he said would be right out, but never came. I had to remind him when he finally came back to our table when we were already finished eating. So I asked for a to-go box and some more bread to take with us. He said ok and brought our to-go box and two small drinks to go instead of the bread we asked for. Overall, poor service and the food wasn’t that great. Won’t be going back.

This place has the best managerial service! I ordered my usual wings and they just weren’t up to par. They were bland and not crispy but edible. I didn’t make a fuss. Next thing I know the manager comes out, apologized and took the wings off my bill without me asking. This is not the first time I’ve had the manager come and take care of a minor problem with such speed and stellar service. That’s why I keep coming back. Occasional very minor problems with the food or wait staff, but the management always takes ownership and makes it right. I’ll keep bringing my business here, always.

Good early dinner spot. Nothing new about. Kind of boring to be honest. It’s been ages since I stop here. Still the same. Service was ok. Food ok. Nothing to be impressed by.

It’s an Outback. One of the better ones that I’ve ever been to, but still an Outback. You’ve eat an Outback before. You know what’s good. You know you love that Alice Springs chicken. You know they’re gonna have Foster’s on tap and usually a Sam Adams or two. THIS Outback has an extraordinarily wonderful front of the house manager with great staff in the front and back of the house. One thing I will say though, is that the new«modern» décor sucks. It sucks BIG time. They should go back to the good old Outback with Australian themes, boomerangs and dijeridoo’s on the walls and stuff. The«new» décor REALLY sucks. Other than that, everything else here is good!

The Victoria’s filet was cooked rare as asked and was a good cut of filet(as it better be –although this is not Flemings or Ruth Chris), however the French Onion Soup(not on the menu) was a bit saltier than I’m used to. They kept the drinks coming, and our waiter(Jordan) was patient(poor guy had to repeat the steak options more than twice heh) and attentive. It was not busy and I was a bit hesitant to try steak in a seafood area but I got exactly what I ordered and everyone left full and happy with their meal.

Rib eye sandwich. My bf ate a piece he dropped on the table(my biggest petpeeve). When I fussed, he says«I want to eat the little bit of meat that I actually got!» I posted a picture. It’s ridiculous. We actually paid for that? Yes. But never again!

I will NEVER go back!!! Live in slidell and have been here many times. It gets worse each time. The staff at the front door were a little rude in my opinion, like they were doing us a favor by seating us. Were not greeted when we walked in and they were not that busy. My husband and I went there for my birthday. Although our waitress was nice… she came and sat at our table to take our order… I didn’t expect that. I got the beef tips and they were so tuff I could barely chew them. My husband got a ribeye and he said we could cook that better at home. The steamed veggies were good. We tried this place one more time last week. Our waiter was wonderful but the food was not… never again

Me and my love are staying out here in south for a bit originally from the nyc boros. Went to eat at Outback Steak house in Slidell near interstate 10 the Gause Blvd exit for Easter lunch. The blooming onion here has taken a nose dive into the greaser WOW super greasy had to send back. Maybe a metal drip basket(this used to be the must have app) would come in handy for the kitchen. Our server took it back and asked if we would like to try anything else we had the crab and avacado with nacho appitizer which was good. My hunny ordered a burger med well with cheddar and bacon. The burger was so well done and dry that to send back another item would have embarrassed us when the person who should have been embarrassed was the so called chef. He or She had payed no attention to detail or the food leaving the kitchen. Sure wish our server would have mentioned the $ 1 up charge for cheddar and $ 1 up charge for bacon i guess we should just assume the extra charge for these items. I ordered a burger as well med rare with blu cheese the burger was cooked to order with literally 5 small blu cheese crumbles on top :(I Love blu cheese so once again disappointed. My experience was mediocre. Prob wont go back.

I live in Algiers, on the Westbank in New Orleans, and I routinely drive to Slidell to go to THIS Outback, even though we have several closer to us, this restaurant is outstanding and far exceeds any other Outback we have been to in our area. We have gotten up and walked out and paid for just drinks at the Outback in Metairie, and we have had some of the worst food and service at the Outback in Marrero, but at the Outback in Slidell, we have always had excellent service and tremendous food. We went most recently on March 10th this year in honor of my daughter’s father’s birthday. This was the last restaurant we all went to as a family. He passed away in 2013 and this was our way of celebrating him :). We return here often, and we have never had an issue. They treated my daughter to an Oreo shake when they found out why we were there and why we refused to sit at another table even though the light was shining RIGHT in my eyes. The manager(I wish I could remember her name), and our server were so kind to us on such a somber occasion, I couldn’t have asked for nicer people or better food. Thanks so much and I look forward to coming back again and again!

Ok, should have known better than going here after 7 on a Friday night but we were hungry and it wasn’t a far drive from home in picayune. We settle at sitting at the bar after being told there was a 45 minute wait and that was fine. We did get a free coconut shrimp after mentioning outback bowl which were delish. After that we ordered dinner of one ribeye medium and 2 Victoria’s filets(one 6 and one 8 oz), both med rare. I didn’t know that they changed the menu and took off the horseradish crumb crust(one of the best parts of the menu setting it apart from Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn) and asked if they had it. The bartender said he would check. The steaks came out and the ribeye was somewhere between rare and med rare. No big deal. The ‘filet’ that I ordered looked like a thick cut of meat except when I cut into it, it was rare and very tough to cut in to and had nothing horseradish on it at all. When I asked, the bartender left and said he would check like he forget to ask in the first place. He came back saying it wasn’t available but that he had some kind of horseradish sauce I could try. After sending them back to get cooked more, the manager brings out the ribeye and stands there while we are cutting into it. It was fine. The ‘filet’ comes back and after sawing into it, the color was fine. I struggled to cut another piece and tried to eat the rubber that was on the plate. I asked my dad to cut into the ‘filet’ and he was also stunned. The other bartender seeing us struggling came and asked if everything was ok. I mentioned that it was a very tough ‘filet’ and our bartender come out of the background to say that he heard me say sirloin. Who would order a med rare sirloin and if you would I applaud you since that was like sawing rubber and chewing a shoe. Well after this is realized, they throw away the sirloin and I wasn’t even sure if I could eat another steak. They placed the order for the filet and it came out after everyone had finished eating making it awkward to sit there and eat. I ate the steak only and we asked for our check. No one came over to see if we were ok or nothing after that point and our check was corrected and the new filet was added instead of the sirloin. I surprised at how the whole ordeal was handled and not even that the manager came back to see how we were doing towards the end. The bartender originally waiting on us didn’t return again after the ordeal and we were pretty sure he was hiding in the back. Disappointing experience!

Traveling cross-country. Stopped in Slidell for the night. Ordering on line was quick and easy. Very friendly, helpful service at pickup. Once back at hotel, I found that the vegetable side that I ordered and paid for was missing. Ribeye was cooked to order but quite a bit of fat and grizzle. Rest ok. Pretty hit and miss at prices that make you expect better. Disappointing.

Ordered takeout for dinner very early during the day today so it would be ready to pick up on my way home around 8:00pm. Everything was hot and ready on time and as ordered. Last week, came during lunch time with my best friend and we had to alert the hostess that we had been seated for 10 minutes and the waiter had not come to take our drink orders. The hostess got our drinks. Food was good as always, though onion blossom slightly overcooked. Steak ordered medium rare, cooked perfectly, seasoned well, salad fresh. If not for the slow service, 5 stars. Plenty of parking, has station next door, right off interstate, though a little difficult to get to due to congestion from merging at the red light. Also, must cross 3 lanes of congestion to get to the light to turn left into parking lot when coming from New Orleans. From the other direction take a left off interstate and you will be at the aforementioned pesky red light that is 90% congested.

I can’t even pretend to lie… I like Outback. I know, I know. It’s a chain. You know what though? I don’t really get the whole thing about not liking a place just because it’s a chain. In my mind if they are doing well enough to open multiple locations… then they’re doing something right. Outback Steakhouse does plenty of things right. The bread and butter? Check. Blooming onion? Check. Alice Springs Chicken? Yummy Check. Steak?(You should get the kids out of the room now) Yes. oh yes… ohhhhh…yeah. Check. Oh.yes. The food is great. The service is great. The atmosphere is great. Outback is great.
