I went here back in early 2011 for the first time had a shrimp platter with shrimp crab and corn soup got sick for a few days decided to try it again got sick again went back in late 2012 ordered same thing I requested a bowl of soup the bowl was the size of a coffee cup I asked the server if this is what they called a bowl she said yes so I bet a cup was the size of a shot glass the shrimp plate I got was so small portion wise that my 7 yr old nephew couldn’t get full off of it only a handful of shrimp this was my last time going here

Apparently before Katrina this place was amazing! I went about 9 months ago on a late night and it was DISGUSTING. I stopped in for some fried pickles and while I was waiting around there was a roach crawling on the ceiling! Gross!

FRIEDSOFTSHELLCRABS! If I’m in the mood for seafood(always) and I want it fried, I’m coming here for it. And I’m getting the soft shell crab. Fried and seasoned to perfect crispy yumminess, Boiling Point does it right. The Boiling Point is one of the best seafood restaurants in the Slidell area. It is super casual and laid back and everyone is way friendly. It feels like I’m back in my grandmother’s kitchen eating all of the yummy seafood she used to fry. Their boiled seafood is also really great. It’s spicy, the portions are huge and it’s hot. I’ve been to other seafood restaurants and ordered boiled shrimp or crawfish and it comes out cold. Umm. No. I’m guessing they boil it all at once and then put it on ice and serve it throughout the day, but if I want cold boiled seafood I can get it from a grocery store. The Boiling Point must boil as the orders come in. And that’s how I like it. Try the Boiling Point if you haven’t. You can thank me later.

I would not go back nor recommend anyone to go. Saturday around lunch I tried it out Jan 2013. It was around 2:00 so it was slow. The waitress essentially disappeared towards the end of our meal. There were fly’s buzzing around the food once it came out. The décor is dated and the prices were in line with what you pay at a nice place for good food. The chicken sandwhich tasted like a sandwhich I make at home and was basted with what tasted like store bought honey mustard. THEN to top it all off apparently the waitress FELT like she did a better job than she did. Instead of the 14% tip I gave her(mind you for bad service and food) she decided her hard work earned a 21% tip… just sayin. God Bless you if you decide to try it out.

I found this place on Unilocal while searching for somewhere to have lunch and watch a Mardi Gras Parade. The server was so sweet and helpful in describing the local fare and assisting us with our selection. My friend and I ordered crab fingers(the meaty part of the claw pulled out of the shell… perfect for dipping), served in a garlic butter sauce with cheese. Delicious! The crawfish boil was AMAZING! So full of cajun spices and fresh lemon flavor! I also had the shrimp po’boy which was fantastic. The shrimp batter was well seasoned with a slight kick and the bread was light and crusty. The ingredients seemed very fresh and well above«bar food» standards. I always find it exciting when you walk into a place expecting it to be mediocre and it ends up being so much more than you anticipated. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. We stayed after the parade for a beer and the locals were all very friendly. They gave us their beads to take home as souvenirs and even bought us each a drink.

Average dining experience, nothing to sexy about this place. More of a bar atmosphere!

Now this place is what I’m talkin’ about! For legit crab, crawfish, and shrimp boils, this is the place to be. Not much to look at from the outside, and even less on the inside, but oh boy, the boils are enough to make you«wanna slap yo momma». We were traveling for business and craving some boiled crab, so of course I turned to Unilocal to help us out with our craving. The Boiling Point hit the spot! We ordered a combo boil of dungeoness crab and shrimp, along with a crab claw appetizer. The crab claws came out in a similar sauce as the BBQ shrimp and came with the same bread(perfect for soaking up garlic butter). Best crab claws I’ve ever had! The boil came out hot, spicy and piled high with shrimp and crab. Delicious! The server told us that the owner makes his own boil spices. Personally, I love spicy food, so I didn’t think the boil was too spicy, but if spicy isn’t your thing, the boil might be a little fiery for your tastes. The cocktail sauce had plenty of horseradish and tasted fresh, and the potato salad is delish! They make it with the same potatoes they put in the boil, so it had a bit of a Cajun flavor. No beer on tap unfortunately, but they had an OK selection in bottles. They had your Bud Light, Coors Light, etc, along with some other beers such as Blue Moon and Abita. To top off the meal, we were talked into(though it didn’t take much talking!) ordering the bread pudding with rum sauce. Damn! Was that good! Another homemade offering put out by the boiling point. This was bread pudding at its best. Our server even anticipated our needs and brought an extra cup of the sauce to go with the pudding. Good call! And speaking of our server, she absolutely rocked! She really helped make our evening special. She was on top of everything we needed, and had great recommendations for food on the menu. She even made sure we had plenty of napkins for our messy shrimp fingers. For good boil pots at a good price, definitely check out the Boiling Point!

Went here with my hubby after a day trip to the French market. Customer service was awesome! Wendy was the absolute best! I had the catfish Avery which was great. He had the boiled shrimp. Everything was boiled to perfection with that added spice. Not too spicy and not bland. We both really liked and plan to take the drive from Mississippi to go again really soon!

For travelers: do not underestimate ‘boiled’ crawfish, potatoes, and corn. This is savory, spicy and excellent! Our waitress was the sweetest. Restaurant needs a makeover.

Stopped by on the way back from Fontainebleu to grab lunch and catch the Saints game. The fried stuff is great — we got a fried pickle app and split the platter o doom. All was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The atmosphere was fun, a bit more boisterous than usual(i.e., I yelled myself hoarse) as we watched Atlanta come back to tie it up and then the Saints win in OT. Bartenders and servers all rock. Only complaint is that many items were crossed out on the menu, and some of them had looked enticing. WHODAT!

My wife wanted some boiled crab and she got plenty. I am not a crab eater myself but she did enjoy hers. A few flies and a little warm inside but not to bad. I ordered a fried shrimp plate but it was not very good.

I have always loved the Boiling Point. I lived in Slidell in 1991 and we would go there quite often. I don’t know why it says no good for kids, we would take our son there quite often, he was 3 then. He loved ordering his own crawfish. I have been back driving all the way from NJ one time and from Ft Worth, TX a second time. We are thinking about taking another trip over to Slidell for crawfish. I can understand why the parking lot is packed, it’s really good food and the service is always good! :) I recommend The Boiling Point completely!
