I love this place! It dosent get much better than this, I guess if girls were topless I would give it 5 stars. If your at Snowshoe make sure you grab a beer and some chicken tenders. Beautiful view as well and you get to watch all the crazies come flying down the slopes to ballhooter high speed quad lift. A must do for a quick break from shredding!

The Boathouse rests at the foot of Snowshoe Mountain, right by the sparkling lake– a Kodak moment! It’s the go-to place for snacks and bathroom break when you’re tearing down the Snowshoe Mountain. I love that you can just ski/board right down to the entrance and leave stuff on the snow. It has a wooden cabin look, with wooden tables and seats and cozy decorations. The seatings are plentiful, both inside and out on the deck. They serve beer, warm foods, and combo meals for a ski resort price. Unlimited refills on soft drinks! The place is right by the quad lift, which can get pretty crowded, but the lines do move fast since quad lifts are meant to be speedier than regular lifts. It’s very convenient, and I preferred it to other eateries at the top of the mountain.

To get to the Boathouse you must be in skis or boards in the winter or upload at the top of the mountain in Summer. The Boathouse is a convenient pit stop for skiers and hikers(depending on the season), with a wonderful location on the side of Shavers Lake in one of the highest lakes(manmade) in the Eastern US. The lake is at 4,000 foot elevation, and the Boathouse affords splendid views of the Snowshoe Bowl. The offerings are well… simple if not mediocre. Good stews, pre-cooked hamburgers, and the like. I can’t for the life of me understand how such a potential gold mine goes unexploited by Snowshoe’s management and instead, the Boathouse serves such insipid faire. The large deck literally on the water and the spectacular sights could be a wonderful venue for an upscale restaurant. But no… Still, it is much better than the Junction, 800 feet up the mountain.
