Very nice work. And the price is very desirable. However, seems to be cash only.

Great place for quick, simple, inexpensive men’s haircuts. My son and I love going here because we are in and out in about 15 minutes. $ 5 for a men’s clipper cut. Can’t beat that.

In this part of Skokie there are about a half-dozen salons within a block of each other. Suzie’s stands out because they do eyebrow threading for just $ 5.

One of the few places where I could get a decent, low-priced men’s haircut($ 5). It’s not a quick chop shop like Betty and Nick’s across the street. If I still worked in the area, I’d be going back more often. However, it takes the them a long time for a simple guys’ cut in addition to the long wait times, so don’t come here on your lunch break.

All the stylists that have cut my hair at Suzy’s are meticulous about their craft and are very nice too. Best of all the price for a simple hair cut for men is $ 5. Give them at least a $ 3 tip because they work hard and it is still a bargain at $ 8.

Chach says he needs a cut but doesn’t care to spend the coin I do for a good one. I remember there’s a Betty & Nick’s out this way but turns out they’re closed on Sundays. Nearby we see a barber shop, but that’s also closed for Sunday. Kitty corner to Betty & Nick’s is Suzie Salon. Neon advertising reads«$ 5 Handsome hair cut». Chach doesn’t care who cuts it so long as it’s proper. He’s visiting from abroad and a connoisseur of scissor cuts but hasn’t yet seen anyone with those skills here in America. So, we’re here to see what happens. Walked in, sat down. One stylist working on a lady’s hair in the front near to where we sat, no entrance greet from her or acknowledgment. Another stylist in the back working on another female customer and again not a peep out of her either. It’s dead quiet in here except for a few words between these customers and their stylists. About twelve minutes into our wait a customer walks in and sits down near us. Now an older lady which looks like Suzie maybe, walks out into the reception area turns to the recent walk-in and says she can take her, the lady mentions not having an appointment. WTF, she just said she didn’t have an appointment?! I wanted to say something, Chach said we’ll just wait. Another ten or so minutes go by and a younger stylist emerges from somewhere and takes my cuz for a «handsome» $ 5 hair cut. Going in he told me he’d allow them to trim the sides and back but take a slight bit off the top. Ten minutes later and the sides and back look okay, that’s when it all went downhill. He told her like he told me, just a slight bit off the top. But, she took it all and it looks terrible. He told me she used thinning shears to do the top. I wondered why the top of his head looks janky and uneven. Ugh. We won’t be returning. You get what you pay for I guess. Fourth of July weekend is coming and now a guy who never wears a hat is considering buying one. Total cost of this trip; Handsome haircut $ 5 + $ 25 decent hat = $ 32 dollars or so to save face.

You can tell what’s a good haircut when you have taken hair culture classes yourself. Suzie’s got the eye and the skills. Her fees are reasonable too.
