I love this place. Owners are so kind and helpful. They have Himalayan salt lamps, salt rooms, salt blocks and specialty salt items. Absolutely wonderful. They carry an abundance of naturally hand made products with salt minerals. The so well products are beauty care home cleaning, chocolates and more. They carry them in bulk and individual, such as cleaning soaps and creams. You can use their salt room, infrared sauna and message bed unlimited for 75 dollars a month. It’s a steal! The infrared sauna alone is worth it, detoxifies, kills cancer and burns up to 600 calories every 30 minutes. Love it so much they will build one for you inside your home. Ask for details. I love this little spa and all they offer. It’s been a home away from home for me lately! Walk in and experience this little local gem.

I found out about Solay through a YouSwoop promotion. I had never tried a salt room so I thought, why not? The deal also came with a yoga session. The owner is super nice and the place has a retail shop, too. It’s amazing how much this place has expanded in the last few months. When I first came, there was the shop, salt room, and yoga sessions. Now they have more classes and are even going to start offering facials. I like the products here a lot. For people who are allergic to basically anything they put on their skin, the products here are a life-saver. Plus, everything I have bought here has lasted a long time. I don’t think the prices are unreasonable, especially considering how long they last. The owner is constantly offering discounts on the products, too, so it’s a good deal all the way around. I even bought a salt lamp and am amazed at how restful my sleep is when I use it. I for one am happy to have found this place and hope they keep expanding and offering their great products.

This kind of place is usually not my cup of tea as I’m not into the New Age or vegan aspect of it. I had been interested in pursuing this subject as I know our soil and environment is almost depleted of trace minerals and having a source for this that the body can assimilate is very important. I bought the Groupon for the salt lamp and got a relative to take advantage of it as well. When I stopped to pick it up the staff were attentive and courteous even though the small store was very busy. I bought a handmade neti pot as well that had a bag of Himalayan pink salt included. So much better than what’s available at Walgreens or Target. Anyways I recommend this as a way to reclaim your health and well being. The Lord knows I needed it after this life sucking job I just left nearly ruined mine!

Went in to buy a gift for a friend. Person wasn’t helpful but pleasant, if that makes sense. Overpriced. Definitely wont be back. Her salt lamp went out in less than a month!

I bought a Groupon for this place and was not very impressed. The deal was for two people to have 40 minutes in a salt room and 20 minutes on the salt bed. I forget how much it cost 20 or 30 dollars, I think. The lady just let us go into the room that had the bed and told us we could do what we wanted for an hour. The bed was literally a salt bed. Plywood with a layer of salt and then a sheet over it. Not as exciting as it sounded. The salts all seemed over priced, but I still wanted to look around and was considering buying something. The lady was inattentive to us and followed another customer around instead so we just left without buying anything. I wouldn’t go back. Galos Salt Cave in Chicago is a much better experience.

I wish I had been given the opportunity to experience what the other reviewers are talking about. About a month ago, I scheduled my appointment days in advance, received an email requesting I confirm the appointment(which I did) the day before. BUT and when I arrived for an 11AM appointment at 10:45, no one was there. 10:55 no one. 11:00 — still no one. I rang the bell and called repeatedly, no answer. 11:15, I left a voicemail and responded to the email«confirmation» letting them know that when I schedule an appointment, I expect the business to be open and that I wanted a full refund. To their credit, about 15 minutes after I left, the employee who was not there to open the store because he missed his train called and left 2 voicemails(in a panicked tone) and offered a pound of sea salt for the inconvenience. Later, the woman working in the home office left me 2 messages saying she hoped I had made it to my sessions and offering free sessions to make up for it. However, it was clear she was not communicating with the staff because she would have known I was not there whenever the employee did finally show up. The voicemails also indicated the management knew the employee had missed his train and no one thought to call or email me, even though they knew there was an 11 am appointment. Two words: Disorganized and Disappointing. This is a wellness center, I was expecting a much needed relaxation session — not the disorganized lack of communication while I waited outside in the cold for an appointment. That said, there are many other places to go for relaxation that are more organized and more attentive to customer needs and holding up their end of the bargain rather than damage control when they screw up. I won’t be back.

How have I not reviewed this place before now? This is an esoteric new age-y dream with something for just about everyone. They sell everything green and filled with salty goodness from salt lamps to salt necklaces to salt soap to salt pipes to an entire room made entirely of salt. Yeah, really. You don’t see that every day. And if you’re ever coming down with a cold or have the slightest twinge of asthma, or just wanna feel some really positive ions that will lighten your mood, go in there for ten minutes and BREATHE. It’s amazing. The salt lamps are gorgeous and give a lovely glow to any room even if you’re not into the whole health benefits thing, the tons of other products are fun, and the owner is both well-informed and darling to talk to. It’s a little hard to find, but well worth it.

It’s hard to categorize this place but I guess they are primarily a retail outlet. Most of their business is done through their website which is why their shop is tiny but it is attached to a large warehouse in an industrial area of Skokie. Solay sells beautiful salt lamps that are supposed to act as natural air ionizers and promote respiratory and overall health. If you don’t believe any of that, you can at least admire them visually. One thing that took me by surprise was the salt room. Though I briefly read about on the site before I went to pick up my lamp, seeing it in person is a completely different experience. There are salt bricks lining the floors(and possibly part of the wall? I don’t remember) and salt lamps all over the place. You can come in and sit in the room to relax on certain days and it’s always free. I’m sure the website has better details about all of this and they also sell other products like jewelry and facial masques. Another plus is that the owner is incredibly friendly and is willing to answer any questions.
