1^st time I went in the sales man was supposed to check on turnaround time for a custom tile job. He walked off and started talking to some woman who walked in about horseback riding and never came back, so I left. The next time I went in determined to deal only with the owner — because his employee was so rude. I had a quick question. Alan had me wait while he loaded boxes of tile for the people he was waiting on when I walked in, which was fine. But then he expected me to wait while he loaded tile for some pushy people who came in after I’d been waiting all that time. So I left again, kicking myself for going back and wasting more time. I guess the employee was just mirroring his boss.

Fantastic customer service, from the moment we walked in they were helpful, thank you Allen and Joe! They gave us a tour of nearly every pallet of stone, asked what we were trying to do, and offered design ideas and samples to take home (free!).
For those items they didn’t have samples of (cork flooring) they gave us their supplier’s name, told us to pick out what they wanted, and they would obtain it for us. Their service/​delivery is 1 – 3 days depending upon availability, or walk out with it if they have it in stock.
They have an excellent sample display of hundreds of stones, dozens of carpet and wood floor types, and more than a few window blinds/​shutters. We found the basis to design any room with their offering.
For the Google reviews, they take the time to respond to each complaint. I found them because I made the mistake of going to Tile Outlet, read their reviews, and someone suggested DSO, so happy I did!

These guys are great! Excellent prices (they’re even willing to negotiate a little), and they are incredibly patient. Ordered tile for my master bath and fireplace surround and they had it ready just a couple days later. I will be back for future projects!

I’ve never had so much fun shopping for carpet as I did when I stopped at Designer Stone Outlet. Besides the fact that they made me laugh, they do have a great selection and the pricing was less than I thought. The installation went smoothly and the installers were extremely friendly. I would definitely give them a look if you’re in need of carpet or tile.

I stopped in late one night after work and was very pleased with the selection and customer service. After briefly dealing with the Tile Gallery downtown (awful! They are expensive, pretentious and didn’t even get back to me with quotes), it was refreshing to work with such friendly people. Ed and Alan have been extremely helpful answering my questions. If I had a question regarding a product or availability, they made an effort to find out the answer, or wrote it down to get back to me later. They didn’t try to twist my arm into buying something, they were really accommodating and friendly! I was so impressed that I will be returning Saturday to place my order. They had a great selection and I am looking forward to doing business with them and referring them to others! Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

If you need tile, you need to go visit this place. Ed was friendly and patient; he gave me advice that I needed about choosing tile, and he did not just try to sell me any tile for my bathrooms (even though my indecision cost him the better half of an afternoon). Their prices are excellent, and they are incredibly accommodating. When there wasn’t enough in stock of a tile that I loved, they quickly called their other locations and had it brought over for me.
After placing my order on a Tuesday, it was ready to be picked up on a Thursday. When I needed more of a certain tile the following Monday, I called back. They remembered me and my order right away and were able to give me the same great price on my tile.
I cannot thank Ed and Joe enough for all their help on my renovation project!

I remodeled two bathrooms using Designer Stone’s products and couldn’t be happier with the result. I found red, yellow and white onyx and timber marble tiles that I loved for a great price. When I redo my kitchen, I won’t even bother shopping anyplace else. The service was mind-​blowing, too. First rate business, highly recommend.

Alan Pritzker and his entire staff at Designer Stone Outlet are great to work with. After going to numerous other tile stores in the area and not even getting a Hi, I decided to stop in and take a look. I’m glad I did. I knew I was in the right place the moment I walked in the door and Cola greeted me with a big smile and a «How are you, What can I help you design today.» That was great because I had no idea what I wanted for my bathroom remodel and had no clue where to begin.
Cola practically held my hand through the whole process coming up with some great design ideas and concepts for me. After 3 weeks and 4 trips back to tweak the design, I finally pulled the trigger and couldn’t be happier. Their customer service is incredible and they really enjoy what their doing, it shows by the amount of time they are willing to spend with you; Their pricing is great too. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend Designer Stone Outlet to anyone looking to remodel their home.

I shopped at their Chicago location before they closed and moved the store to Skokie. I made the trek to Skokie only to find the kitchen counter backsplash tile of my dreams there, in stock, at the most amazing price. Service was great. Would absolutely return and recommend them to my friends.

When I tell you that you NEED to go here for both home and art tile needs, I’m not kidding. They have lines I’ve never seen at other tile stores and they have a back room filled with tiles at very good prices.
But price isn’t the only plus at Designer Stone Outlet, the service is top notch. They take their time with you to make sure you get exactly what you want. To make extra sure, they’ll send samples home with you to look at how your color and style choices fit into your room.
I was knocked out by this place and I think you will be too.

I shopped at designer stone outlet, and had a great experience, with the sales staff. They took a real interest in my flooring vs other stores that did not ask me my likes or dislikes. They have a great eye for design and colors and can draw out the layouts for you. Try that at the box stores, we orderd travertine flooring for our family room and could not be more pleased with the material and how to care for the tile. The tile came in at the time they told me, vs we were told at a another store the tile would be in in a couple of days and that order came a month later, they did not call me to let me know it was not in stock, not at designer stone they called the supplier and we were tild we would have our order in a couple of days, my contractor was able to start my remodel right away. I would recommend ed or cola or the owner any day. Thanks again to the staff.
