I brought in my whole vacuum cleaner so the salesman could quickly diagnose my problem. He was very friendly and professional and I was in and out in three minutes with a working vacuum. Awesome!

RUDE, MEANANDSCARYTOO The guy who took my Miele vacuum«J» for repair was nice. But, when I went back to see what the«diagnosis» was — the man who came out(I think the owner) was gruff, not warm or polite and hardly said hello. But it got worse. I asked if I could use the back door to go out to my car(with the heavy vacuum) and he then YELLED and swore at «J» and literally dropped my vacuum(NOT A GOODTHING) in front of him saying«this should have been done yesterday!» True, the vacuum should have been ready. I wish he had 1) Said hello to me 2) Said, «Oh no, I’m so sorry it’s not ready yet 3) Not dropped my vacuum 4) not sworn at the poor guy who worked there

I was having problems with the power cord retracting on my Electrolux vacuum. I brought it to these guys for repair. Without even looking at it, I was told that Electrolux sucked and this was a huge problem with them. Bottom line, I needed a new vacuum. It was 2 years old and hard to swallow. Somehow this thing fixed itself and has gotten better every time I use it– the cord zips back in fast every time now, and I really didn’t do anything(maybe some sort of passive correction). This was many years ago and my vacuum functions perfectly still. They just wanted to sell me a new vacuum. Every time I pass this place on Dempster, I think of the curtness of the man behind the counter, the sales-driven repair advice, and how wonderful my vacuum works in spite of their off-handedness. In hindsight, what crooks.

To clarify: My vacuum was not Miele. The bags I buy/have been using are those recommended by the manufacturer. Further– the filter had been changed less than a year prior. It appears as the owners comments below must be in regards to a different customer who it seems had a similar bad experience with their treatment when visiting the business.

Went in to get my Dyson fixed, as it had been having some issues and was not working as well as it had been in the past. The guy working(didn’t catch his name) showed me what was wrong and how to fix it myself, then sent me on my way. He could have easily taken my vacuum and money and performed the easy task himself, but he didn’t do that. Classy move, classy place, i’ll be a repeat customer.

I’ve been here twice. The first time I got an employee who was just«OK». He did fix my Miele vacuum(it was clogged) but when I asked what I could do to prevent it from happening again, he only offered that I must have vacuumed up a coin or something. I just went back a few days ago and this time when I picked up the vacuum I must have been talking to the owner who was super helpful. For the same price as the first fix($ 23) they had changed the bag out(I had not known it was full), unclogged the vacuum, cleaned the roller brush, and on top of that he was super helpful with offering information on how to see the bag is full next time, cleaning the brush and avoiding future problems. The vacuum now runs like new. If I had to buy another vacuum I would definitely come here in future but make sure I could talk to the owner.

So much for being a loyal customer. I have been a customer at A-1 for many years. If they didn’t have a part of my vacuum cleaner in their shop, I’d never go back. The part I need is not in stock, I was told I had to purchase the part before they’d order it(which I did) and that the repair would be completed 2 days ago. I understand that the weather and cold have disrupted deliveries. I do not understand why the man on the phone was rude as I tried to find out when I might get my vacuum cleaner back. I make a habit of patronizing small, local businesses. As soon as I pick up my repaired vacuum cleaner I will cross A-1 off my list and will never step foot in there again. There’s no need, ever, to be rude!

My fantastic experience at A-1 Vacuum compelled me to sign of for Unilocal and get the word out on a great business. I have had 2 Dyson vacuums repaired at A-1 in the past month. In both cases A-1 fixed the problem and fixed it quickly. To top it off, in both cases A-1 repaired my vacuums for free because they were under warranty. I didn’t know they were under warranty and didn’t have to give them any information. They took care of everything for me. I can’t recommend these guys enough. I wish there were more businesses out there like A-1 Vacuum Service.

so I have a VAX vacuum the Brush Roller was broken. They«fixed» it for $ 120.00. I used it less than three times and it broke again, same thing. Brought it back and they never even looked at it. They now tell me they can not get parts for this. 1. If they can not get parts what did they«fix» the first time? 2. Why not even look at the vacuum? 3. Why did they charge me $ 120.00 if they could not get parts and did not properly fix it? So I go on-line to the Vax site and they have ALLOFTHEPARTS for the Vacuum, all you might need. These guys could not care less and never even looked at my vacuum or online for the parts that are easily available. They just do not care but I feel ripped off for the work they did not do since it broke again in short order but they sure took my money. DONOTUSETHEM.

I went to every store in town looking for bags for my vacuum and until someone at Abt told me to go to this place. All they sell is vacuum cleaners and stuff for vacuums. I never knew a place like this existed. They fix them too so I was really happy to find this place.

Based on Marc A.‘s review — I went in. Of course I have a cheap vacuum(Dirt Devil) but once we got past that joke — Jermaine was extremely helpful. He managed 3 – 4 customers at the same time. Everyone was happy. He even showed me why the vac was backed up and how to clean it out myself. Working now as well as a cheap vac can — and I know how to fix it. I highly recommend their services.
