This is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is plentiful, the service is great and the sushi is even fantastic and fresh! The prices are good and the atmosphere is pleasant. I live about 30 minutes away and it’s worth the trip! 5 stars from this patron.

These guys have recently gone WAY downhill after having been on of the best Chinese places in the area. I had their Mongolian Beef which is a speciality and the chives were gritty with DIRT! Called to complain and was given $ 5 off my next order. Braised beef soup has also gone downhill and has worse flavor and cheaper meat vs. a year ago.

We called today, Christmas Eve, about Christmas Eve dinner hours, and they told us the hours. When we arrived for dinner, they told us they were only taking reservations today, but never mentioned reservations on the phone. A family came in immediately after and had the same story and they turned my family and theirs away, on Christmas Eve, when over half the restaurant was empty. They knew we called and they failed to mention or ask about reservations, and still turned us away. Now we’re searching for a restaurant that’s actually open to accommodate my family and I. Just horrible.

Second try after new management and still very poor. Last visit featured spoiled egg rolls– in edible. This order included spare ribs that were so tough and old they must have been cooked last week. Just two words– stay away

Unfortunately, we have not had the best experience with Ya Ya over the past few months… I have held back in updating my previous review to be sure it was not an isolated incident. I would say they have gone from above average to average and now probably below average in the matter of last 4 or so months. The quality of food has gone down, service not as good as it was in prior visits and for take out we have found that we should have checked our order before leaving, never had to do that before.

This place is one of my favorites! I’ve been going here for years and the food has always been consistent and delicious. I typically get sushi and sashimi made by sushi chef John. He presents the most ornate and beautiful dishes where everything from the vibrance and look, to the taste are out of this world. Besides amazing fresh fish, they serve authentic Asian dishes. Their Dan Dan noodles are a must(and they’re way better than P.F. Changs –which I’m a huge fan of as well!) From their snap peas to their ginger dressing, this place is great. The prices are a tad steep, but you get what you pay for tenfold.

Had the General Cho chicken. The sauce was tasty. The chicken I think was frozen and then cooked. The chicken was overcooked and very dry. The portion was not that big for $ 12. Honestly, there are better places around with more affordable prices and better food. I won’t go back.

Just terrible. Wanted to try dim sum, One cart with roughly 4 selections and porridge. BFD. Took two selections off the cart. Ordered more dim sum off the menu, several people stopped by trying to sell us the same 4 dim sum selections, reminded each person that we had ordered food, food never arrived — except for oddly sweet chicken feet(that tasted like they were cooked yesterday) and doughy, tasteless vegetable dumplings. Was offered a selection of tea — which came only after telling two different people that we had ordered tea — but it was not brought to our table! When the tea did come, it was served in those crummy tea pots that you cannot pour without burning yourself and spilling tea all over the place. There was no strainer so each cup was full of tea leaves. Thanks a bunch. The place was not crowded and there had to be 10 people running around the dining room giving«service». On top of the CF service, the food we did get(off the dim sum cart) was absolutely terrible. Short ribs swimming in grease. Short ribs and black bean sauce, NO black bean flavor. Spent well over an hour in there, left hungry and feeling like we wasted our time. Décor is 20-year-old suburban Chinese restaurant, complete with dirty carpet. And flies. In October. After the first frost. Will not return, stay away. There are a lot of bad restaurants in the Princeton area, this is about the worst. Deserves to die.

Revisited yaya as we heard there were new owners. Worst food and service I’ve had in ages! We went for lunch and were encouraged to have the buffet. Sadly we agreed and discovered that all the food was cold(when it was supposedly sitting in warmers), except for the mayonnaise and other condiments which were unrefridgerated. Pickled ginger had developed a hard crust on the edges… Hate to think how long that means it had been sitting there. While we were serving ourselves from this a appetising selection someone put tea and water on our table. After that we never saw any service, were never asked if we’d like any other drinks. The. Sometime after we’d given up trying to eat the half cooked dumplings and generally bad food a waiter came and put the check on the table and left before we could even ask anything. So we went to pay at the entry and it took 15 minutes for someone to turn up. When they did, she asked if we were ready to order! We pointed out that the food was cold and she just responded with, I’ll tell the manager. No apologies or offer to make it up in any way… I think the poor keeping of food is a serious health risk and cannot understand the positive reviews for this place. Poor service at chines restaurants is sadly common but this was exceptionally poor and rude.

Beautiful décor and clean. Staff are kind and sociable which is great. I had the Thai spring roll and it was dripping grease so crispy it wouldn’t stay together. Chicken beef and veggies is a thick salty brown sauce. Noodles were hardly cooked. For 20 $ I could have made this junk food at home(no the rolls of course) eating out should be about what you can’t make at home.

We just ordered our dinner here for carry out and the juicy pork and crabmeat bun was raw inside. Raw meat!!! Horrible! We are very disappointed since we are a frequent customer. This will be the last time we’re eating here.

This restaurants previously rated 5 stars. It has been consistently excellent over a long period of time. It seems that it has been taken over recently. Unfortunately the quality and taste of the food has dropped considerably. This is very unfortunate as it was the best Chinese restaurant around. I can only hope that the new owners take heed and return this restaurant to the 5 star rating it once had.

Ya Ya Noodles serves Chinese food as well as sushi. We came in on a Saturday night and it was packed. We decided to sit at the sushi bar and were instantly greeted by the owner John as he was making sushi. He made a few recommendations and made us feel right at home. Overall I really liked the special rolls he served us and found the standard rolls to be good. I had a roll with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and avocado. It was yummy… I scarfed it down right away and loved every bite. We had miso soup, edamame and seared white tuna as starters. All were pretty good. I finished off with a sweet potato roll. I enjoyed my experience and would definitely return for dinner and a movie at the nearby Montgomery Cinemas. Great date night.

Good food; obsequious waiter; intense hostess speaking loudly and desperately into the phone.

Ya Ya is the type of Chinese restaurant you go to on a night where you really don’t want to eat Chinese food. Most of what used to pass as authentic has become less so in recent times. Moreover, portion size has been getting smaller and smaller. Recent bad experiences include really soggy mango chicken, and extremely oversalted noodles. The quality of the bubble tea has high variance, and I will admit, I raised my eyebrows when I saw that they started serving sushi. Though the ambiance is worse, Yao’s restaurant across the street serves significantly better food, whether you are talking about something like General Tso’s, or if you are looking for more legit Chinese food. This is hearsay, but the owner has even complained about the lack of Chinese patrons, and how they have been slowly moving to accommodate Americanized tastes.

Excellent service but, the Peking Duck lacked flavor and my Miso Soup was luke warm so, this was disappointing. However, my husband’s meal was great(I sampled it). We will be back but I will order something different next time

Wonderful place to have dinner. Great atmosphere fast service and great food. Be sure to try the salad wraps as an appetizer and get the mango chicken! They also have a sushi bar and some great sushi! The staff here are extremely efficient and very attentive to your needs!

This place has the absolute best sesame chicken in the area, hands down. Sushi is meh… fresh but basic(but what were you expecting at a Chinese restaurant?) Service is usually pretty good, fast and polite. Ya may have to clear your throat a few times to get a water refill, but there’s a full pot of hot tea on the table so you won’t go too parched. Get the sesame chicken. It’s the bee’s knees

Hidden in the shopping center next to Shop Rite, this place exceeded my expectations. From the looks outside, you would probably ignore this place or might be curious but not walk in. When I did walked in, I was greeted from everyone which was kinda unusual for a restaurant like this. Then came to seating and ordering the food. Here’s the verdict: Pros: I had tuna, salmon, white tuna, eel(excellent), philly roll and shrimp tempura(chef recommendation). All very good and you pay for quality. Won ton soup is really good. You can taste that the won ton is homemade and not out of the freezer. Big plus there! Service was very attentive. Place is very clean and welcoming. Cons: In the height of sushi buffets and ½ priced off sushi, the nearest one is in South Brunswick(which has two). Then again, I went on a Tuesday and it was half full. They probably don’t have the need to do it. The outside was iffy, which can deceive those of wanting to try the place. Verdict: I’d come back if I don’t mind spending regular price. I do want to try the hot foods and see if that measures up like the sushi. Then, I can award the 5th star!
