Charming tiny place, excellent service, great pizza. Lots of attention to detail. And the chocolate pot de crème is to die for…

A tiny bistro with fresh entrees. In contrast to its petite interior, Gilda’s tall windows afford a view of the length of picturesque Skaneateles lake. Bright daylight illuminates the eatery’s crisp, modern interior. Intimately placed tables line the exterior wall, with a bar on the interior. In the back, more windows look into the kitchen where chefs busily prepare orders. The menu is bistro-sized, offering half-a-dozen each of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and pizza. We started our lunch with calamari. Light breading and a hint of chili spice complimented understated seafood flavor. The crostini is a crusty cut of baguette dabbed with basil pesto, topped with a slice of prosciutto and a nest of fresh arugula. Our final plate: yet more arugula with pancetta and sweet goat cheese, topped by a tasty lemon vinaigrette. Each were light compositions, allowing the ingredients to evenly contribute to the overall flavor — no overwhelming sauces or spices. The approach made possible by the dish’s components: fresh and of high quality. The service was fast and attentive, too. Gilda’s is a great choice for a high-quality, bistro experience.

This is one pf my favorite spots to go to with friends. They have great small plate options and the pizza is to die for. Service is always on point also! I could eat there every day of the week :)

It was a pleasant surprise to find that this little gem had opened in Skaneateles while visiting home over the summer. Now residing on the East End of Long Island where Rose rules the world come spring, I had to try the local finger lakes Ryan William Rose they were offering. I fell in love! A very attentive manager and exceptional waitstaff. High-end feel that suits the village of Skaneateles well. Small plates and fine wine, this spot is perfect for date night or a Sunday brunch with the girls.

The only downside to this place is that it’s too small! We had a little trouble getting a table, but the staff was so helpful. We eventually got the table outside. The food was excellent. Our waiter talked us out of getting too much food. Usually I order my own pizza, but he recommended getting a few items to share. It was perfect. We tried two different pizzas, the clams and some of the other appetizers. Great food, great service, reasonably priced.

Very casual, fabulous food, and definitely not your standard pizza joint. We went on Wednesday and loved the half price wine deal too.

I started out with the brussel sprouts and they were great. Then had the Sweet Fennell Sausage pizza. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the ingredients were obviously fresh. I have also tried the mushroom pizza which is also delicious. They also have 4 very good beers on tap. Also, if you stop in on Wednesdays they have half price bottles of wine. Overall a very nice place to eat.

If you’re going to reheat a food item(and by this I mean your meatballs) — please make sure that they aren’t frozen in the middle. The rest of the food was good/but, reheated meatballs are a sign that I am not getting a freshly prepared meal. Not a fan.

This is a solid 4.5 out of 5. Service — great! Peter behind the bar let us Marylanders take our time and happily offered suggestions. When we asked what drinks are local, he took us through every single cider, beer, and wine they had, even letting us have a sip of the dry Riesling and dry Rosé(we went with the Riesling); he was proud of these wines and how they stack up to the usually much sweeter wines from the area — we couldn’t agree more. Also, the 1911 cider and Empire cream ale were nice aperitifs. Food — awesome. Definitely get the dates — they are a wonderful blend of sweet, salty, tangy, soft with a little almond crunch for contrast. The crostini sampler is a great way to try a variety when you can’t decide; my favorite was the olive tapenade. The arugula salad was very delightful, although a little heavy on dressing for my taste. The potatoes bravas were fine, we would’ve loved more of the aioli and the bravas sauce(which was a bit different than others we’ve had — we think it had fennel seed added to it). The five-spice calamari was good, but nothing to write home about. If our stomachs had allowed it, we would’ve gotten more; everything looks so good on the menu! Ambiance — The restaurant is a tad small, but they manage to fit a number of us in there comfortably. It has a very clean feel. You can see right into the kitchen with windows allowing a view of the chef and assistants at work. A very wonderful place. Next time we’re in Skaneateles, we’ll be back for more!

Two nights in a row and this place continues to impress. Our waiter Phillip was incredible, his advice and recommendations were spot on. The Row Eleven Pinot was shocking delicious especially considering the $ 30 price. We had the arugula salad and white pizza with the house sausage and they were both perfect. Highly recommend this place

I went here for lunch on a recent trip to the Skaneateles area. This is a very cute, small & cozy restaurant. I opted just to sit at the bar — which was quaint and very nice. The bartender was amazing! He welcomed me, asked me if I had been in before, asked me where I was from then gave me the rundown of the menu and specials. He asked if I wanted to start with anything to drink then came back in a couple minutes for my order. I opted for a pizza — which was sooooo delicious. It was fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, fresh tomato sauce, Parmesan and arugula. It was cooked to perfection. There was no way I could eat this thing by myself in one sitting — but I got left overs!!! Yay! They have a limited bar menu, so if you are looking for cocktails, you wont find them here, but you will find, wine and beer so you will be fine! Plus the amazing hospitality that you will encounter here is sure to be memorable! Get down to Gilda’s, grab a seat have some wine and pizza — you will love it!

We stopped in based on Unilocal reviews. Had a very good Italian meal, in a very pleasant atmosphere, with beautiful location. Service was professional and prompt. A better experience than I had expected, and everyone was glad we stopped.

Great service, best pizza I have had in a long time. Was the white pizza that tasted amazing. I did ask them to cook the pizza with the basil on it instead of placing it on the pizza after it was cooked. Seeing into the kitchen was also great.

My girlfriends and I went right at the dinner rush on a Friday, and the place was still quiet. I don’t understand how, as it was probably the best priced, quality food in all of Skaneateles. Our server was a doll. I had a margherita pizza which, I’ll admit, didn’t look spectacular, but tasted phenomenal. Fresh basil and mozzarella on a homemade crust, yum! And not at all greasy. We ended up receiving a complimentary dessert to share(strawberry shortcake), as the shortcake itself was a day old(their morning delivery never arrived). And it was absolutely delicious — not too heavy, and the syrup did not taste fake in the least(which tends to be a pet peeve of mine). All in all, a place I would very highly recommend. It has a nice view of a waterway from the dining room, too.

Went to Gildas on a Friday night, as we had just drove into town late after work from the Saratoga Springs area. Small town, not a lot open that would potentially have vegetarian food. The menu was varied and well balanced, the 4 taps had variety and the local wineries were represented from what I could see in the case. My boyfriend ordered the burger, which he loved. I ordered the beet salad which was fabulous with both red and golden beets and pickled red onions. Also on the recommendation of the proprietor, the Arancini over the potatos bravas. The Arancini were good, but the sauce they were topped with really made it. Bright and light flavored tomato sauce, chunky and fresh. Will definitely go back and do pizza next time.

I love Gilda’s! What a wonderful dining experience each and every time! Love the small plates concept as you get to try several different things and if you’re still hungry you can order another small plate or go for one of Gilda’s yummy pizzas! This place is very small, some would say intimate, but I’d argue that the tables are just a bit too close together. But, because the food and service are so good, I am ok overlooking that! Favorite items here are the clams in almond butter sauce, fried risotto balls, and garlic shrimp. I also love the pizza with prosciutto and arugula. I don’t believe Gilda’s has liquor but I’ve had their sangria which was so refreshing on a hot summer night. They also have a great wine list with a nice selection of wines from all over the country and across the pond! I want to vote 5 stars but as I said, the proximity to your fellow diners makes intimate conversation a bit tricky!

Gildas is a quaint little restaurant in the heart of Skaneateles. They serve gourmet pizzas and small plates. The restaurant is very small — think NYC West Village small, but it’s very cozy, bright and clean. It’s refreshing and different from any place in town. My mom and I love coming here to share a pizza and a salad or a few small plates. The pizzas are delicious; perfectly cooked thin crust topped with fresh cheeses. The white pizza is one of my favorites, and the hot sospressato is also unique and delicious. The Catalina salad is another favorite dish — Bibb lettuce, crumbled maytag bleu cheese, dried blueberries, and Marcona almonds tossed in their own french dressing. Go with someone you can share with — there are a ton of great options on the menu!
