I’ve eaten at Greg’s over 100 times in the past 15 years. They have a great selection of subs, the soups are awesome and everything is fresh. The subs are so good I keep coming back despite a few issues: parking can be a challenge at times, seating is very limited having to sit in the casino part next door several times. They need to put a sign up that says«no reserving of tables with articles of clothing or purses». Several times I’ve walked in to discover a long line which is worth waiting in, with hardly any seats taken at all with people, but articles of clothing or purses«reserving» tables and chains. You end up getting served standing around looking for somewhere to sit with a bunch of «open» tables but all reserved and then having to sit in the casino area. Some people just have no decency, are not very polite or think of others, just themselves.

Excellent place for a quick lunch, or any meal for that matter. Like everyone else has said, the staff is super friendly, there are a very wide range of choices between sandwiches, salads, soups, and more, and the food is very fresh and very delicious. Strong contender for best sandwiches in Sioux Falls!

Four of us stopped in for lunch. The following is a first person account from one of the party: I did it all wrong. I walked in without researching the complex, hand-written menu and panicked as I approached the elderly woman slicing each sandwich to order. I had the daily special, which was the turkey sandwich, chips, and drink. It was very good. The drinks were served in a styrofoam cup? Thought that was a little strange. Second person: I did it right :) I researched the menu and reviews ahead of time and was rewarded for doing so(the menu is very extensive and can be overwhelming if put on the spot). They slice the meat and cheese as you order so everything is very fresh. I got a #6 and it was the best sub sandwich I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. Third person: I didn’t know what was on the menu and also just got the special but it was really good. I loved the bread! Fourth person like that it was super fresh :)

I was a bit perplexed walking in here the first time because it’s attached to a casino-type place but was happy to find a warm, authentic little sub shop. I don’t live in the area so I was going on others’ backing of the place. They slice everything to order and the people are really friendly. The subs taste super-fresh, almost like your grandma made it or something. It has a modern sub-shop setup but none of the crass corporate dullness. And they use actual bowls/plates/silverware. I’ve tried a variety of subs but can never really remember what they were or what they were called. That much is due to their mammoth sub menu board that practically blinded me the first time and I’m still googly-eyed whenever I stop in. It’s just so much to process and look over and I’m always trying to make a decision without just staring at it blankly for 10 minutes. I’m pretty sure they have a good 30 – 40 different subs listed and if you’re not a regular or semi-regular, it can be a little daunting. But you pretty much can’t go wrong here with the ingredients being so solid. The tortilla soup I tried last time was delicious and addictive.

Doug-las…Doug-las…Doug-las…do you hear it?! They are calling for me!!! DOUGLAS K! This time it’s Gregg’s Substation, in Sioux Falls(SD). My exotic and well-traveled girlfriend knows about this place from last year. It’s also been my SECOND-favorite sandwich place in town for a long-ass time(behind WHIFFER’S, of course). . I always get the #6. On wheat. With cheddar instead of provolone. A little bit of mayo, spicy mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano. With regular baked Lays and a water. $ 5.08. I’ve probably ordered it like 100 times in the last year and a half. The only stupid thing is that they STILL can’t remember what i want. I love these ladies(and they seem to love me), but they’re not big on memorizing regulars’ orders. Actually, there are so many people that have been coming here for, like, decades — maybe I don’t even qualify as a regular yet. That’s probably more like it. DK…PEACE! Douglas K.
